Quail to the rescue! As a forever hopeful fashionista in need of creative work looks, the inevitable journey through age and sports injuries have taken me from sky high heels to sensible shoes. I saw Quail and realized that they had everything my podiatrist advises and are damn stylish as well. These gorgeous shoes have really brightened my day! They are a most comfortable walkable heel, with awesome edgy aesthetic. The straps allow for a most custom fit. I only need buckle the top two to get in and out. A simple hole punch satisfied the need for a couple extra holes, no biggie. They look Fantastic with everything and elevate every outfit. I will be ordering another color. Very smooth feeling on the foot, no runs and no real break in times. They are nicely made. I ordered late Thursday and they were on the porch less than 24 hours later. I love Zappos!

Let me start by saying I do like these sandals. Unfortunately, the left one when I walked made a clicking sound underneath the sole when I walked...even on carpet! (It was as though the leather was flexing and made a sound against itself like a loose piece of floorboard would.) The left shoe's top strap on the third hole was not punched entirely through. I did not force it because they are being returned and I did not want to do anything myself! They did run large and so I bought the size 7 instead of my usual 7 1/2 and the fit was spot on. The interior lining was very soft and was comfortable, however the amount of cushioning throughout the entire shoe was negligible. They did feel mostly like wood underneath soft leather and in the long run probably wouldn't be comfortable. Ultimately I am sad because the styling is adorable and was just what I am looking for...so the search continues!

These might be my favorite summer shoes ever! They are so well made and fashion forward. I have someone stop me whenever I wear these. The leather does stretch with wear so don't be afraid if they are a little snug at first.

I purchased these last year, and have enjoyed them so much that I am back for a second pair in another color. The adjustable buckles allow for a customized fit which makes them comfortable as well as great looking. I want to commend Zappos for their top notch Customer Service! This company really wants to make sure that the customer is happy with their purchase...thank you!

Love! Comfortable & look amazing on. I got these in black distress, now I want every color. After reading reviews I ordered size 7 & fits perfect. I normally wear a size 7-8 in most shoes. Size 7 in flat shoes- Nike, Ugg & most flip flops & Orthaheel. 7.5-8 in most hi heeled shoes - naughty monkey, not rated & pumps/heels.

I love these and they are very comfortable. I normally wear 8 1/2 and based on other reviews I ordered 8 and glad I did. They fit great, but could border on being too big. Buckles help get the proper fit. Very pleased.

Seriously Zappos, how do you do it?! It feels like you are just waiting at the top of my street to send me my purchases! I literally ordered these shoes yesterday after work and that beautiful Zappos box was waiting for me when I got home today! These shoes are absolutely awesome! They feel great right out of the box! I normally wear 8½ but I ordered 8 and they are perfect! I ordered the taupe and the color is true, I was worried about the 3" heel, because am 5'9" but they are great in that department, too! These are such comfortable shoes! The leather is great quality, soft but sturdy, and smells awesome! I really cannot say enough about these. They are just what I was looking for for work and casual! I love this brand, too. I think I found my new vice! Thank you again for making my day!

Great shoe that I wear every chance I can get. I was looking for a pair of shoes that could be worn anytime of the year. Right now, I wear these shoes with cute socks and pair them with leggings, skinny jeans, or a long skirt.

These are incredible. I saw them on a flight - the woman across the aisle was wearing them, and had to have them. They looked great on her, and almost as good on me. They are comfortable enough for dress shoes and work for someone (like me) who does not do well with heels. The pointy toe is appealing to some, but I ignore it, wishing for a more proportional rounded toe that does not pinch my toes (aesthetically speaking - fit wise they are comfortable).

Love, love, love these Freebird Sandals. This is my second pair of Freebirds, and the quality is amazing. I usually wear a 9.5, but these 9's fit great! Comfy too. I teacher kindergarten, and I can wear them all day!!

I loved these from the first time I saw them. I live in boots and tennis shoes, and, they can be too warm in hot summer weather. These are perfect! They have the look of a boot, but the openwork of a sandal. The buckles adjust to give a custom fit, which makes them feel like "old friends" right out of the box, and, they are really great looking. They are very comfortable, and, the style couldn't be any better! I am thrilled with these sandals, and am so glad I took a chance on them.

I just received these and I cannot stop raving about them! They are well-made, perfectly distressed and I haven't seen anything like them out there. I ordered the black distressed and they are definitely darker than pictured, but I was pleasantly surprised. Must have!

I have been looking for a boot-ish sandal like this one for a while now, for that weather that's too warm for boots and too cool for strappy little sandals, when I found these. And then I saw they were selling out ridiculously fast. So I ordered them (Zappos makes that so easy and stress-free, of course), even though I never pay full price for anything (I am a sale maven)...and when I put them on, I knew they were staying. I have not had the best luck with this brand -- I generally wear Fryes pretty much everywhere (boots, sandals, etc.) -- but these feel very comfortable and seem well made. And the style...? Oooooh, if you are boho, good luck resisting these! Love!

Love this shoe. Looks great and is very comfortable. Great fit (size 10 medium-to-wide foot). The buckles allow adjusting the width.

These are so amazing. I received so many compliments from day one. I can wear them all day with no problem heel is just right for comfort without sacrificing style. Love them, wish they were offered in black.

Let me start by saying these shoes are amazing. I like that they are adjustable, not to mention they look fabulous! Unfortunately, I have to return them for two reasons. One, the shoe made clicking noises when I walked in them - both on carpet and regular floors. That was strange and very loud. It almost sounded like the heel was separating from the shoe. More importantly, the ball of my feet hurt a lot while walking around my house. They fit perfectly - some shoes put added pressure on the area and unfortunately these were ones that did. Sizing is a full size down. I wear a 7 to 7-1/2 and ordered these in a 6. Could not have worn a size bigger. That was spot on. Sad to send them back.

I bought the tan in these sandals. They are really unique and love the look. Comfort on the other hand, not so good. Maybe a sole insert will help, we'll see. These run big. I wear a 9 1/2 and the 9 fits perfectly. I have wide feet and wide ankles and these are loose on me?

beware the beige! it has dark spots. looks like black dust/oil has been rubbed on the shoe on the sides and under the buckles. i wondered if someone had worn these and then returned them at first but the discoloration can't be wiped away. also, it has very unevenly spaced holes to secure the straps. the straps are very loose overall for me and there are 3 holes in which to buckle. hole 1 and 2 are normal but hole 3 is a lot further away. i need to punch a hole between # 2 and 3 if i keep them. i'm not sure yet. i would love them if they didn't look dirty! another note, i also bought the black distressed color and it is awesome. great color, great hole punching :) those i'm keeping for certain.

These shoes have a lovely style. I found them to run a size large. I have narrow ankles, and I am using the last holes on the straps; should the leather stretch I will have to punch additional holes. The heel is covered. The toe buckle rubs my toes a bit the wrong way, but I don't think I will get a blister. Am waiting for the snow to melt to wear.

I so wanted to keep these but I knew that was wishful thinking. I am disappointed that for this amount of money the shoe had no zipper for ease of removal or wear. Too much work and the buckles were not easy to manipulate. They are really cute shoes but when I pay so much I expect better quality. If you are going to make high end shoes, Steve Madden, then do it! I still, of course, love Zappos.

These shoes are very attractive; however. after wearing them for two hours in my house my toes were red and killing me! They are way over priced.

Wanted to love these, but not to be. There needs to be more holes for buckles to be tighter and they would be perfect if a zipper was added to the back. I wear a size 8 and the 8 in these was plenty large; thinking I would have been a 71/2 in these booties.

I have such mixed feelings about these. First the bad: The color looks nothing like the picture. I loved the neutral color shown...like a taupe grey. But they are black! The taupe is only the distressed patches and that's about 10% of the shoe. So know you're getting a black shoe. This was disappointing as I was looking for exactly what the photo shows, more neutral, to wear with everything. The second negative is there is no padding or cushion in the footbed. They're really hard and not overly comfortable. My gripe with that is...they're expensive! When you're spending this much on shoes, they should be incredibly comfortable. Big mistake on the brand/manufacturer/designer. And thirdly, obviously the price. They are way too much for what you get. They don't feel high-end, and I feel should fall into about the $79 category. Also they were pretty wide even on the closest buckle hole, so I had to poke new holes in the straps to have them fit my narrower foot. That all said, the plus side is they are extremely cute! They're unique and can be dressed up or down, if a little bohemian is your style. I debated on whether or not to keep them because of the above listed and really hefty price point. While I don't think the shoe is worth that much money, the style ended up being worth it for me! So I do love them, but can only wear when not walking far. Just know that you're not getting this much money's worth in comfort and the color is very different than pictured, but they are really cute and a certain "look/style" that's hard to find...so may be worth it for you too.
