I want to start by explaining my situation. I am an overweight night RN that wears support athletic socks to the knee. I also use Birkenstock orthotics that I purchased here on Zappos. Since the orthotic is designed from the heel to the ball of the foot, I cannot take the insole out of any sneakers that I buy. this forces me to order half a size larger. These sneakers are simply amazing. I have not work sneakers in four years since falling in love with birkenstock hard footbed clogs. I then learned that I needed better ankle support and tried out some sneakers. These are incredible. I also recommend New Balance W1080v5 which get the same review from me. I also ordered Saucony Ride 7 and they are also amazing. I am set for life now if these shoes remain on the market. Of course, Zappos is amazing.

I liked the look of these shoes, but they were not for me. I need pronation control, arch support, and a stiff shoe that keeps my big toes from flexing due to arthritis. This shoe was too flexible and didn't have enough arch support. They had to go back in favor of the Saucony Stabil CS3 W.

I bought these shoes because my lovely New Balance MC 1012s were discontinued. I have tried other New Balance shoes but unfortunately, none of them have provided me the cushion and support I need. (I have since switched to Saucony.) So when I discovered these, I thought I would attempt to go back to New Balance one last time. I have flat arches and wear full length orthotics. (I'm 5'2" and 118 pounds.) I teach multiple group fitness classes per week and I also run every day, so I need cushion and support. So far these shoes have not disappointed me. They don't fit as well as the MC 1012 s but they are a close match. My orthotics fit well even without having to remove the inserts. This is great because the added cushion is much needed! They support my feet well and I didn't need to break them in. I may be a New Balance believer once again! Thank you New Balance for making a motion controlled shoe to accommodate orthotics that doesn't look like an old lady shoe! The colors are great! And thank you Zappos for your great customer service!

A nice and hip-looking walking shoe that doesn't look like so many other walking shoes that seem to have been made over a century ago! This review is based on the size I ordered: size 9WW. I usually wear a 9W for my dress shoes and for tennis shoes I either go half a size up or a WW. But this model runs bigger than average and also wider. I'll have to exchange my pair for an 8.5W. I have flat and fat feet with a very high pronation and finding the perfect shoe isn't easy but I always check out what New Balance offers because they are usually good for customers like me. I'm hoping to get my smaller pair soon!

WOW! As a person who has had a lot of trouble finding comfortable "all day" shoes, let me tell you these are worth every penny! I was recently diagnosed with a Tailors Bunion or "bunionette" by my pinky toe and boy that little bump can make life hard! I also have flat feet so I have been searching for a comfortable shoe to wear and this shoe is the best I have found so far. Great arch support - do not even need my orthotics (!) and bunion does not rub or get sore after all day use. I found them to run absolutely true to size both in width and length. I like the styling but I only found them in one color so I think that should change. Otherwise awesome product and so relieved to be able to not think about my feet again!

I am overweight and recently developed a case of plantar fasciitis in my left heel/foot. I desperately needed new tennis shoes and these met the criteria. They are cute and colorful and give my heel the support it needs. My pf is getting better thanks to my new shoes and a rigorous icing and stretching schedule. These fit great.

I actually wrote New Balance to complain when they got rid of the 1123. I guess they heard me and others who wrote and complained because this shoe may have a different number but it is the lighter, brighter version of the 1123! I am not making the mistake I made before of only having one pair. I just ordered a second pair so when they discontinue these I will still have some.

Love these! Cute. I used to always wear the NB 1010. Awesome replacement and great look. A bit squeaky but worth it.

I have been looking for a replacement for my WR1012 New Balance shoes. The "updated" WX1012 is a totally different shoe. I finally found a shoe with enough depth and width in the toe box. I would prefer a more sedate color choice, but the comfort definitely outweighs the color. I'm already ordering another pair.

I need shoes that prevent my pronation problem and these fit the bill. They are wonderful, comfortable and control my pronation problem. I give them five stars and advise anyone with this problem to go ahead and order them. You will have happy feet!

I love my New Balance W1340v2 running shoe. I appreciate being able to order it in a 2E width as I have bunions and arthritis in the ball of my foot joints. It really minimizes the pain as I am on concrete floors all day at my job.

Definite difference between this "motion control" shoe and NB Stability shoes, like 870. Also tried Saucony Hurricane 16 and found them lacking also in control over pronation. I like pink, or some pink - but the silver edging + purple plastic webbing is too over the top for me. My teen called them garish, and I'm afraid I agree. But they are running shoes, not fashion shoes, they fit great and feel great, and hopefully the shiny silver will fade soon enough. They're staying on my feet, and I will cross fingers that NB will offer a toned down choice. Glad to know New Balance takes customer reviews into consideration. Thanks to Zappos for giving us a chance to compare our experiences.

These were not right for me at all. Too much motion control, much too stiff for my feet. I need a bit of give since I have cartilage that becomes inflamed in one foot and I have plantar fasciitis in the other, yet I still require some support. Shoes are hard for me to find because of those issues and because I wear a larger size. I bought half a size larger (as was recommended) and they were huge. I think that I could probably have worn a full size smaller. The width was more like double width. And there were so many bumps (arch support?) inside the shoes that I immediately began having pain in my heels, arches and one of my knees. I could not believe how wrong these shoes were for me since, by all the reviews and recommendations, it seemed they should be fine. I am glad that Zappos let me return them without hassle. I tried two other pairs before finally finding the right pair.

Not all women who purchase expensive running shoes are very young competitive runners. Some of us wear them for foot health. You cannot tell from the picture how truly hideous these shoes are! I count 10 different colors! Silver, gray, 3 different shades of purple, white, hot pink, red plastic, and even a lime green rectangle on the sole. Why doesn't New Balance make a such a wearable , comfortable expensive shoe in a choice of colors that include neutrals. Consider carefully the very poor style design before you order!

The 1340's are awesome shoes! So sorry they are no longer being made. They are like walking on air! I do not like the replacement shoe.

My feet hurt and I tried everything, arch supports, different style of shoes, thicker socks, anything to help my feet. I watched a YouTube video of 2 PTs that recommended motion control shoes over everything else. I'm happy to say my feet are on the mend! Thank you from two happy feet.

Have been having Achilles tendonitis especially after a whole day working in a medical office on my feet or long walks. having a bone chip in my ankle (childhood injury) I am careful about what shoes support my hindfoot from rolling. This shoe has great stability around the heel, yet soft in the upper. Also cushioning for days. Highly recommend if you have GOT PAIN! Because I don't anymore.

I love this shoe. I carry extra weight and standing on my feet for any length of time, walking, or just everyday errand running has changed completely with these shoes. They are so well structured but at the same time feel light and cushiony.....I love them! Highly recommend them. My only complaint: Only one color and hard to find my size 9.5 D--------

I have ordered these sneakers over and over again. I am a dog walker and need a good supportive sneaker. Love that it comes in wide and has a stabilizer built in to prevent rolling. Love the colors too!
