I am a larger runner and have high arches and a large volume foot. After several surgeries on my ankles, my arches began to collapse while running and so I need really solid arch support and motion control. I don't like motion control insoles, particularly in a motion control or support shoe because they just feel too unnatural. These feel great! Despite the rigid heel plate, they have lots of cushioning that I can actually feel while running. The arch support is just right, not so much that it feels like my foot can't move, but enough that I can feel it. Finally, the metatarsal pad is fantastic. I feel like it really supports the plantar fascia and gives me confidence when running on difficult terrain or when really pushing myself. Aside from custom orthotics, I can't recommend these highly enough...in fact, these are way more comfortable then my custom orthotics. If I had one complaint, it's that I wish they made them in wide sizes. I have a very wide foot, and my mid-foot sort of overflows the mid-foot portion of the insole. It took a little getting used to.

Loved these except they were too narrow about where the label is.My foot was sore from coming down on the outside edge. They did not bother me on my left foot so it maybe something extra sensitive on my right foot. The metatarsal pad was very supportive for my morton's neuroma so hated to return. Trying another NB one that looks wider.

I have a dropped second metatarsal on my left foot and have been unable to run for several months due to pain associated with wearing on this area of my foot. I have custom insoles that I ordered through my chiropractor that just weren't helping. I took a chance on these insoles and they have been really helpful. They do take a little time to get used to. My calves were a little sore and crampy, but I used some e-stem massage and that went away. They have great padding with great support.

These are amazing! I walked for hours and my feet - usually achy and sore - felt great! I used them in New Balance sneakers.

I purchased these to insert into some new New Balance workout shoes that I just got from Zappos. My shoe heels tend to wear on the outsides, and I was hoping that these would maybe help correct that, but the arch support tends to make my feet angle further to the outside. These may be great for someone, but not for me.

Love love, love. These are a sturdy insole. I have worn for 1/2 night and already think they are great. I will update after a few days of wearing them.

Excellent product...fit well right out of the box. Good comfort and more reasonably priced than other options.

Good support for someone with foot problems. They are much better than the standard insole found in athletic shoes. They should last you through two pairs of shoes.

I have pretty terrible flat feet and my two pairs of orthotics ($300 each and not covered by insurance) are starting to fall apart...so when I recently bought a new pair of New Balances I decided to give these a try. They fit perfect in my NBs (14M) and for much less have essentially replaced my $300 inserts. Granted, my inserts are probably better, but I'd rate these at about 90% effective, which is good enough for me. I've hiked mountains, kicked around the city and worn them to work with little to no issues. Couple of points: -They are thicker than your stock foot bed so you lose some space in the shoe...but you do gain some height. -I'm not completely pleased with the heel cup...it's not bad, I just feel it could fit me better (this is why I took the star off for comfort). -That is not carbon fiber. It is hard plastic, and stiffens up the whole thing, but does not make it rigid. If you have New Balances and you want more support, there is no reason to go anywhere else.

I have narrow feet and so I wear New Balance shoes at work and most of the time. Insoles that come in most shoes are not very thick or supportive, so I use these insoles in all my shoes. They add a lot of cushion and support.

A very good product, but the arch support is symmetric. For those, like me, who have some pronation, one needs an off-center arch support.

At first I thought these were horrible - too hard and extreme in the arch area. I was going to send them back. Then I realized it was only my right foot that was bothered; the foot that was already suffering from extreme plantar fasciitis. After some PT and reduced tenderness in the foot, I am able to use these insoles, and they feel good. I have very high arches, so the firm arch actually supports well, and these insoles have more gel cushioning in the heel than, for example, Spenco insoles (which are also great). I don't imagine they're for everyone, but they work for me. I alternate them with Spenco's.
I'd also recommend:

Apparently this insole replaced NB's Ultra Arch Support, which I've had for over 15 years and loved. This new style feels different. The raised support in the middle is too wide and uncomfortably rubs against the outer side of my arch on the underside of my foot. The inner arch support also doesn't feel as high as the previous model. It's very disappointing and I had to return. I'll have to look for a different brand now.
