My Husband got the Gotham Parka from Christmas last year. I was really excited because I loved that it was longer....kept you really warm. I only wore it a few times because the season changed so I didn't need such a heavy coat. Fast forward to this season. Was excited to get it out of my coat storage. This winter has been exceptionally colder then last, so I was able to wear it more. HOWEVER- after a few wears, I noticed that the down feathers were starting to come out of the arm area. When I took a closer look, there were 4 tiny slits on the arm. I'm continuously brushing feathers off my coat or they are sticking out of the slits- that are becoming bigger. Pretty soon there wont be any down feathers at all because it's seems everlasting. I'm extremely disappointed because for the amount of money that North Face charges are their apparel, you would think that they would make it with good material, as well as good craftsmanship. Unless you want to deal with feathers and look like you just walked out of a chicken coop, I would not recommend buying this coat! I wouldn't even give it a 1 star!

I am 5"2. 105 pounds and a small was perfect but leaves little room for layering so I got a medium. A medium makes it baggy at the armpits and waist but that's ok. A small would have shown more flattering shape and I am Not curvy. Im a stick with little hips. Not sure about warmth yet. I'm from California and will be going to east coast in January. Sleeves were long enough to allow me to form a fist to tuck in. It has elastic around wrist. I have an iPhone 6 Plus and it won't fit in the inside pocket (made to fit cards). Phone barely fits in the side pockets which aren't really warm. It's deep enough to place hands in but doesn't insulate. I love the hood.

This jacket is so warm!! I live in North Dakota so the temperature gets very cold, but I can stay warm in this jacket! This jacket is good quality and doesn't loose its feathers. It's the perfect length with tall boots. It's warm but it doesn't make you feel like a penguin because you can still walk normal in the jacket. It's the perfect jacket and worth the money! I'm 5'6'' 140 lbs and the medium is perfect. In the image under the jacket I have on a flannel and a North Face Puff Vest.

Love this parka. The medium fits well (I'm 5'4" and 130#, hourglass shaped), is flattering on my figure, and allows room for a sweater underneath. It hits 4-5 inches above my knee and 1-2 inches above knee-length dresses; it has just enough flare below the waist to accommodate my wide hips without any pulling and to accommodate a-line dresses/skirts. I really appreciate thoughtful touches such as the fleece lining on the outer pocket facing, and the elastic band at the wrist that is set about an inch inside the sleeve. Keeps me warm and stylish at the same time. I considered Patagonia parkas first as their down is 100% traceable, but none of their styles worked right for me. I chose this one after learning that North Face is working towards developing and complying with a responsible down standard.

I bought this coat in the black & have notice that so many feathers have been flying out this coat. This coat was a lot of money for any feathers to he showing.

Definitely suited for wintertime in Chicago! Super excited that I own this coat! Several small but important details that helped me decide to buy and share my experience with anyone trying to decide between one online purchase or another: Feminine cut makes for a stylish coat and fun to wear. Genuine goose down parka provides amazing warmth, even with the slight return of the polar vortex last month (November '14) with temps in the low teens. Deep pockets that keep your hands protected from harsh wind and cold. Above-the-knee length keeps your derriere and thighs warm too! Temperatures are relatively seasonal now with a warm-up to the low 50s over the weekend, but rest assured I'm ready for the true winter season here. So what are you waiting for? I love this coat! It keeps me warm during this Michigan winter weather. I love the color I get so many compliments. It's sooo soft and lightweight I could sleep in it. It's super warm but breathable and doesn't cause me to sweat. I love the inside secret pocket for my card and I.d when I go to the gym. The ties at the bottom for wind makes me feel like I'm wrapped in a blanket! Just perfect not too tight. I'm a tire medium 5'2 150 36DD it fits perfect, doesn't squeeze my chest. The only downside is when you spill something on it it leaves a dark mark but I was able to get them out was detergent and fluff it back with a blow dryer. I haven't washed it yet because I'm scared lol. I got the matron purple it's a beautiful color I want one in all the colors.

This is a very lightweight coat. And very warm as well. I purchased the grey color. It has a hot pink lining which I find attractive. And the shaping of the coat is quite flattering. One thing I need to mention is that the coat runs a little small. I am 5'6" and weight 134 pounds, and a large just fit over a moderate weight sweater. I expected a roomier coat than that. I am glad I sized up.

It is a nice and warm coat. It fits well. It has a really nice color of navy blue. What I don't like about it is that duck feathers escape from the coat through the outside layer of fabric. The sleeves could be longer. I would prefer the zipper on the left side. I am used to seeing zippers on the right side with men's clothes. I have never seen one like that with women's clothes.

Fits so perfectly with hoodies! Very warm and love the color! I'm 5'4, 130lbs, athletic built, I ordered a medium - green color. The shipping left me speechless! I ordered Fri morning and it was at my doorstep Sat evening!!

Perfect winter coat for my 17 y/o daughter. She's 5'10 and 140lbs. I ordered a LG so she can wear sweaters underneath and for arm length. Fits great!

I live in the midwest and wanted a coat that could keep me WARM. I am a very cold person, this coat is very cute and looks as expensive as it is! Would definitely recommend if you like puffer coats. I am 5'1 115 lbs roughly and I ordered a size small. The coat sits mid thigh, not too long. The sleeve length is perfect, if my arms were any longer though, I'd size up. Coat is lined, so there is a snug fit that is comfortable!

Love the look of this jacket. I ordered the navy color in a size small. For reference I am 5'5 and 132lbs. The small fits great. There is plenty of room to wear a sweater under the jacket without feeling too constricted. The navy is a deep, dark navy, almost black in color. It seems to be very warm, and will work great this winter as I walk to and from the hospital. I might have to order in a second color now!

Bought this as a gift for mom. Initially, bought an XL(her regular size) which was a close fit had to exchange for a XXL. Got it right and Mom loves it! Light weight and warmth are definite PROS! Excellent purchase...shopping for dad now!

My 15 year old daughter needed a warm winter coat. It needed to be stylish and fit nicely with-out bulk. This jacket is perfect! She is 5'6 and a with a muscular, larger boned frame and I ordered her a Medium. It's perfect!

This jacket was the perfect piece of outerwear for walking around my college campus in the cold Wisconsin winters. If you're looking for a winter coat to keep you warm on even the coldest days, this one will have your back!

I carefully chose this coat over many others in preparation for my trip to Iceland in January. It was the perfect choice! It kept me warm, dry, and protected from the wind in some pretty nasty weather, I'd highly recommend the Gotham jacket!

Love, love, LOVE this parka! I was very unsure as to whether I should buy a Medium or a Large (I generally wear a Medium in most brands, but North Face Mediums are often too small for me). I decided to try the Medium, and I'm so glad I did, it fits perfectly! Generally I've found that North Face doesn't design their women's clothes with curvy girls in mind. I'm a size 10 and very hourglass shaped, and previous North Face coats just weren't cut for my hips. This parka defines my waist yet still allows for enough room for my hips and thighs. Others stated in their reviews that this parka was too bell-shaped at the bottom; I didn't find this to be true at all. I think it's the most flattering parka I've ever tried, definitely no Michelin Man look. Very functional with all the pockets, and warm enough for rough Ohio winters. And as always, Zappos is the best when it comes to customer service.

This coat is very lightweight! It's true to size. I'm 5'6" 125#. And the medium leaves me with plenty of room to wear a sweater under it. Haven't had real cold weather to rate it for warmth but will update that soon! I'm very pleased with the fit. It is feminine and doesn't make me feel like the Michelin Man.

This jacket shipped quickly. The photo is very accurate. I'm not a fan of the gold zipper but that's just my opinion. Fits true to size. I'm 5'5", I got a medium and it stops right before the knee. Very warm.

I love this jacket. I went through multiple Columbia jackets but the fit just wasn't right. This jacket is amazing. It is very warm (20 degree weather) and a good fit. What I really love about this jacket is how easy it is to zip (not all long jackets are) and how big the pockets are. the pockets are pretty deep and you can fit a lot of stuff in there. The jacket is comfortable and good quality. I would highly recommend it!

I’d order from north face not from Zappos. My coat was definitely used. It had random tags in the pocket and marks from previous wear. Zappos doesn’t care at all anymore.

I live in Chicago and this coat will not keep you warm when you need it most. I had to wear several layers under the coat and my arms were still cold. I also notice that feathers were pouring out of this coat after less than 30 days. I thought North Face was a reputable brand. I realize now that North Face is overrated. This coat was an investment for me and I had hoped to wear it at least three winters. It was a waste of money. I do not recommend this item.
