have ran 50 km of trail so far in these and bagged a few mountains. find them very versatile. in above zero temps - I can vent when I warm up and unvent when I'm exposed. they have room for a merino baselayer underneath adding extra versatility when its cold out. REALLY think that the new version should include a mesh/stretch pocket on the back for added storage options (gloves, rolled up windbreaker, bar, etc.). won't recommend using them unless you have shoes on (metal zipper "clicks" on the ground. not a good yoga/gym pant. would buy again. sz. medium. 32" waist. bigger thighs.

I bought a pair for myself after shopping for rain pants for cycling to and from work. Sporting stores had nice pants but not in my size. My husband (who never comments on clothes) loved them on me from day one. So I bought him a pair which he equally loves.

You buy this pant for its utility. Essential Kit in your bag the Stradium earns its way being your go-to pant when not armoring up for a technical trek or climb. You put it on first thing AM and aprs ski sit around the fire or out to dinner downtown. It's that great a pant. Good looking and stay clean even though black in color. You'll love the zips over boots and vent at your sides. You'll wear it around the house all year long 'cuz why not? It's a Fav. Lightweight rolls tight; takes zero space in the pack and never a wrinkle. Its Arc'teryx design at its highest embodiment.

These are exactly what I was looking for! I just broke my leg and needed a full zip workout pant that will fit over my cast. But I wanted something cool and technical that I will still like for summer hiking once I have recovered. Perfect fit, nice still, great materials. Very light.

Once again Arcteryx has made something everybody should be aware about. These pants look like normal pants up on the website but in reality everybody should own a pair of these pants. They are super comfortable. I wear them around town, after sufing or snowboarding and to the gym for a workout. The coolest thing about these pants is that the front pockets can zip all the way down to your ankle. So if you are working out and sweating your butt off you can zip these pants down and air out that area that needs some help. They have a drawstring waiste so you never have to worry about your friends trying to pants you in front of the ladies. Arcteryx really needs to start making more types of these pants. Its very hard to find comfortable men's pants for working out, chilling on the couch or going out at night. Go buy these pants!!!!

I purchased my first pair of Stradium pants in 2014 and was quickly disappointed: the regular cut was not spacious enough to comfortably wear as a warmup pant over my running shorts. Also, the lack of a short inseam meant I was stepping over the hem and lower zipper when wearing them shoeless. For a year, I relegated my Stadium pant to being a workout pant in the gym for which it turned out to be well designed. Then one day, due to a mixed weather forecast, I randomly decided to use it instead of shorts for an ultra race: it has since become my favorite mountain and ultra running pant from cool to hot weather. I know running in pants will make many people frown but in my case, the Stradium has outperformed any running shorts I own: these days I have barely use my Incendo shorts! - They better help manage body temperature and the -length side zips help increase ventilation in warm or hot weather too. - The Socora fabric is incredibly comfortable next to the skin. - They help keep dirt out of the shoes. - They offer protection against brushes and thorns. - They strongly decrease the risk of getting ticks on the legs. - They reduce or even eliminate the need to apply suncream to the legs regularly. - With heavy solar loads, long pants (and sleeves) will actually help keep the body cooler than short ones; and contrary to what is commonly thought, research has shown black fabrics don't have higher thermal retention than lighter ones - no, wearing a black Stadium pant will not make you warmer!!! - I find them less prone to cause chafing compared to running tights - thought this may depend on your body shape as well. After listing all the pros, it's time to talk about cons: the adjustable elastic waist drawcord is, after all, not so easy to adjust. You can tie it up but, as other reviewers pointed out, it will hardly stay securely in place during physical activity or when carrying any weight in the pockets. I personally find it to be somewhat a design oversight; as the pant hardly stays in place even during simple gym workouts. I have a found a great workaround and now tighten it using a replacement toggle cord lock which actually comes very close to toggles used in the outdoor industry for pants with elasticated drawcords. The only other (minor) drawback is the pockets: if you open the side zips for ventilation, it means you won't be able to zip the pockets closed and can't safely store valuables such as car keys in them. It would be great if the internal mesh pocket would be redesigned with a separate side zip for closing as well as large enough to fit car keys and a small credit-card sized wallet. The lack of Long and Short sizes will also be a limitation if you are on the shorter or taller side. In my case, I'm only 171 cm tall but it is only a problem when not wearing shoes; in fact, the longer inseam turned out to work well as it fully covering my trail running shoes and really helping keep dirt and stones out. Summer 2018 was particularly warm in Europe and ended up covering over 1,000 kilometers of mountain running and speed-hiking wearing the Stradium. Eventually, because of the unusually higher temperatures, I even used two pairs throughout the Tor Des Geants in the Italian Alps. Aside from some preventable minor chafing in the lower back, it performed incredibly well: I passed 3,000-meter high (9,000 feet) alpine cols in the middle of the night without the need of wearing shell pant; at the other end of the spectrum, I also managed to stay reasonably cool during the warmest hours of the day even with peak temperatures in the high 30s C (90s F): I basically hiked, slept, and even showered, wearing the Stadium pant for over 140 hours and 350 kilometers (217 miles). Ultra distance may not be the intended use for which the Stradium pant was designed but, for me at least, it undeniably excelled for that purpose! To conclude, aside from the elasticated drawcord - which is the only reason why I gave them four stars instead of five - it is an incredibly comfortable, breathable, and versatile lightweight pant for high-output activities. I currently own four pairs!

I bought them for all the description listed and tried 4 x to write this review. You can't go back to the product as you loose everything. In cool weather they are not warm, but for my height they are great pant to lounge in MY BIGGEST complaint is the newer front janus cinch in front it not worth it. i don't know if it stretches out but in time will not hold. In fact I may have to call customer service about them. I have to turn over the t op cinching area to get them to stay up the company may contact me for travel they will be easy to use , wash and wear, and have comfort.

These are great track pants. I use them for warming up before a workout, for casual wear around town, and relaxing at home. Fabric is excellent - very lightweight, soft and comfortable. The pants have side zips all the way up the legs. The hip pockets are also enclosed by the side zips, which is a clever design element that I have not seen on other track pants. So you can zip partially down to access the pockets, and if you need to open the legs for ventilation you just continue to pull the same zipper down lower. Works very well. A couple of minor gripes: The lower zipper pulls on the side zips are quite heavy and chunky. When wearing the pants without shoes, as you walk the weight of the zipper pulls the fabric under my heel with every step, and I end up repeatedly stepping on the zipper which can be painful due to its size and shape. The zipper pulls also click loudly against any hard surface you are walking on. May not be an issue for taller people. I get around it by raising the bottom zips a few inches, but a smaller lighter zipper pull like the ones used on shirt pockets would solve the problem nicely. Only other issue is the sizing of the waist. These are quite loose fitting pants. Size small fits me very well in most Arc pants, but the small Stradiums are too big in the waist and dont stay securely in place during physical activity or when carrying any weight in the pockets. The draw string is not much help - it is thin, stretchy, and a closed loop. All of these things make it hard to tie a tight secure knot. A traditional draw string with two loose ends, made of a stiffer material, would be preferable

bought 2 pairs of those after seeing someone's review saying those are his favorite trail running pants. It turns out to be a bad decision. I got a thin waist so l pick up small as I always do with Arcteryx, but those pants got a gigantic waist size. And I couldn't help it with a drawcord, it's the kind of drawcord that almost don't help and absolute hate after trying it, and l foolish think a brand like Arcteryx wouldn't use it so I didn't look into it. However, if they don't make an xs, people like me wouldn't have a chance to wear it properly, it falls all the way to my butt. It's funny because the target group for this pant is people who are usually skinny. I usually wear a medium for Salomon trail running product, I think they have a better sense of runner's size. The zipper felt awful when you wearing it, too. SO maybe that pant is just made that specific warming up processes when you wear something under it.

These pants are OK, but they are not waterproof and the zippers are too big on the zippered sides. The man's medium is too long by an inch or so. I'd like to see them shortened a little. They are the only option for a lightweight running pant for coolish weather. The company needs more options here. They have options for cold weather pants, but those are too warm for Spring and Fall weather. I'd like to see a waterproof pant that matches the Norvan waterproof line of jackets. They are outstanding. This pant, is not outstanding, but it does work in cool conditions with no rain and it is well made and comfortable.

I REALLY wish I could wear these. They would be perfect for what I am looking for. BUT, why do they have to be so short?! I am tall (6'4"), but have a long torso and typically wear pants with a 34" inseam. These hit above my ankles. Please make some similar pants in a longer inseam!!!

This really needs to be added to the keywords. These pants offer UPF 50 protection, making their high cost way more worth it. From the manufacturer's site: Socora™ polyester taffeta has two-way mechanical stretch for freedom of movement. Lightweight, air permeable and packable, it has a UPF 50+ sun protection rating and a DWR treatment to ward off light precipitation.
