After considering comparable jackets from Patagonia and The North Face, I decided to go with Columbia. I have to say I think it was a mistake. In my opinion, this jacket suffers from two really annoying design flaws. The first problem is the Velcro fasteners that close the jacket front over its zipper. After five years of being slightly perturbed by trying to snap up my North Face jacket with gloves on, I thought the Velcro would be an improvement. But I soon found that if the jacket is not completely closed, that heavy-duty Velcro catches on everything. It has snagged sweaters, scratched my arms while I'm driving, and even pulled a pom-pom clean off the bottom of my favorite scarf. It's fine when the jacket's all closed up, but sometimes a girl doesn't want or need to zip up, you know? What I wouldn't do for a glove full of snaps at this point! The second problem is the thin lining material that constantly gets caught in the zipper. This has caused my zipper to get stuck about 2-3 per week since I bought the jacket. It's obnoxious enough when I'm at home and have to step out of the coat, lay it down on a table, and work for 5 minutes to get the zipper unstuck. But it's downright unacceptable when I've met a friend for lunch and can't take off my stupid jacket. I now make a point of zipping and unzipping very slowly and carefully, making sure that nothing comes even close to getting stuck. What a pain in the neck! My husband and kids all have either North Face or Patagonia jackets and their zippers almost never get stuck. (Maybe once a year?) And it never happened with the NF jacket I wore for five years before I replaced it with this sorry coat from Columbia. The style on this jacket is cute and flattering, but I'm sorry to say that's just not enough to make up for its flaws.

Warm, attractive and lightweight. I have a short Columbia jacket with the same Omni lining and like it so well that I wanted the longer jacket with hood for colder days. The only problem that I have with it is the fabric is so lightweight, that it sometimes get caught in the zipper. It is easy to get it unstuck.

I was looking for a warm Winter Coat. This wouldn't be it. This is more of a Cool Weather Coat. While it was very cute, very comfortable, it is not for the NorthEast Winters! I wore it outside for about 10 minutes and was very cold. The coat came down to just above my knee and I'm 5'1; however, past the part where the leg starts it bells out a little and so that part will not stay warm, since the coat allows a lot of air in. Very cute, very comfy, but not a true North Winter Coat. Maybe for anywhere below NC, but not above, unless you love to layer.

I bought this jacket after owning the Columbia Mighty Lite for a few years. It is definitely warmer than the Mighty Lite. Once it gets really cold in Chicago, I will still likely need to wear another layer under it to stay warm. I like that this coat is lightweight and less bulky than some of the other puffy coats. It is long in the back, which keeps the wind out.

I am 5' 7" and 135. The medium fit beautifully. It's light but very warm. It arrived on an extremely cold day at home. 10 degrees with a -15 wind chill. I tried it on my porch and with a fleece jacket under it, the coat kept me comfortable. I ordered another jacket which I decided to keep because the hood was fuller to accommodate a helmet. This jacket is a great choice though!

This is a terrific coat!! It's form fitting(flattering), lightweight, very warm and comfy! I'm 6'1 and the large fit me perfectly! The sleeves were actually long enough for me! The only thing I don't really like is the Velcro closure...I should have got one with snaps instead. The Velcro sticks to everything and snagged my tights. I wore this coat on a trip to NYC when it was raining and snowing and I stayed warm and dry!

The fit is great! Love the drawstring in it. It's not a bulky coat but still keeps you warm! I live in Wisconsin and the weather can be harsh! So far it's kept me nice and warm through high winds and chilly temps!

We had a bitter January and it kept me warm as far as my knees. Temps were below zero for days. It feels lightweight but is very functional. If I had seen it at this price last fall I would have bought 2!

I live in GA so I do not have much need for such a heavy coat, but I do have family in the Midwest and after several winters without haveing a coat when visiting them I finally bought this one. This winter it got rather cold in GA so I was able to get more then a few days of use out of the coat, so here is my review. The coat was very was and comfortable (only got to the teens here). It was good at holding the wind at bay as well! (Was in MN for a weeks and it was crazy windy, with temp in the negitives) The coat also works well with temps in the fourties. Keeping it unzipped, it did not overheat me! Ok, now for the things I dont like... I have notice a bunch of feathers that come out from all over, but am hoping that there are enough in the coat that this won't matter too much. I do not like that the wind flap (not sure if that is the correct name) that is held by velcro, it pops open very easily, and if you are just trying it do a quick close on the coat without zipping the coat, it does not stay closed!! And lastly I think it would be nice if the coat had those thumb wholes to keep the sleeves down while your doing activities. All in all, I love the coat and look forward to using it for years to come!

I would definitely recommend this jacket to anyone who lives in a cold state. As a Wisconsin girl myself, I know cold and I know this coat will keep your entire torso warm. The hood is great too because you can singe it to fit your head.

I love this coat. I have owned this exact coat in the past, and bought another identical one to it after two years of use. My only complaint is that the fabric is a little thin, making it easy to tear, which is why I purchased another one to replace the one that was damaged.

Long length is great for stopping updrafts. Jacket is not bulky, but still very warm due to the use of the omni heat reflective dots. I got a size up to allow some extra space, plus make it easier to walk. Has 2 zippered external pockets and 1 internal zippered pocket. Hood is removable. There is an internal drawstring at waist level, to cinch that area tighter if you prefer. Great jacket for MN winters. Would definitely recommend.

This jackets is honestly perfect. Keeps me warm but is also stylish. I can function perfectly in this jacket and I find myself very warm while my friends are shivering in the cold. Definitely recommend it's worth the money.
