Amazing sling! It's a perfect bag to walk around NYC with - very lightweight and even though it looks small, you can definitely fit a lot in there! The phone pouch on the strap is large enough for my Samsung Galaxy S5, so it would definitely be suitable for iPhones. Highly recommend!

This is my second Altmont. The first I passed down to my college student because it was so admired! I use this as my "purse" and find its hands-free sling design the absolute best of any sling I have used. It's tough, understated, but stylish. It's comfortable and holds everything I need. You will not regret your purchase of this wonderful bag.

I bought this bag as a gift for my milennial son to use primarily while cycling, but also to get the crap out of his pcckets when he's just walking around. First thing I did was remove the ladder lock and install a quick release buckle on the strap; this was a simple thing Victorinox could have done and it was a big improvement. The bag is spacious. Main compartment holds one full sized library book plus a thin cycling jacket and some snacks. Front compartment holds his wallet in the "hidden" pouch area, and all his various electronic stuff (power bank for his phone, bike lights, etc.). The pocket on the strap is perfectly sized for his iphone 5 with Otterbox defender case installed. The stretchy material of the phone pocket really helps it fit. The material is basically ballistic nylon with a rubberized overlay on the botton and front flap cover. Should be durable and help with water resistance. I know people complained about the upper part of the bag being unusable due to the extreme teardrop shape but, for cycling, this is great. Less of the back is covered by the bag so there is more breathability compared to a bag which is more rounded (like my Patagonia Atom sling). The black bag is very masculine looking and my son likes it a lot. He also likes how it can be swung to the front when carrying his Weekender bag on his back while traveling. This bag was a hit, not a miss.

Overall this bag is ok, but I didn't expect that the flap over the front pocket was rubbery plastic. The strip along the bottom of the pack is also plastic, which doesn't look very high quality. I'm on the fence if will keep this bag.
