I really like the way these shoes look. I bought them for the skate park but I also wear them at work. The heelcup appears to be made of pretty rigid material and this has protected my heels a couple of times. These shoes do run smaller - about a half size for me, and they are not wide. I had checked out other reviews so this was not a surprise. However the snug fit made me wonder if they were too small at first, then I realized there was no pain or discomfort - they just fit closely. My only complaint is that the white laces seem to be picking up color from the shoes and turning pink. I will be replacing them with red laces soon. I can't speak to durability as I haven't had them very long, but I love them so far!

Best skateboarding shoe ever made. Unrivaled durability, board feel, and support; yet all of these come at an affordable cost from a valued skateboarding company. Those are the facts, my opinion is that the Romero Laced is a good enough shoe to displace Nike from the skate game!

If you loved the original Laced you'll love these. It is just a robust version of the original. The stitching is great throughout the shoe. There is also an ortholite insole in the shoe. If you can believe it the shoe is even more low profile than before, and a bit more narrow. It isn't an issue though, the shoe fits great. Emerica is one of the best quality skate shoes on the market right now. Also Zappos also does a great job, next day shipping for free, you guys are awesome! Ill definitely be back to buy more!

Extremely narrow and a bit flimsy with zero arch support. I recommend other Emerica shoes over this one - such as the Herman G6 vulc, Reynolds low vulc, or the Provost slim. The Romero looks super nice - a stylin' shoe for sure. Very low profile and unassuming. I would wear these just to cruise around in. In my opinion, the shoe is just not sturdy enough for extended skate sessions. The limited number of eyelets for a secure lacing system is a problem as well, despite the "wing stabilizer" inside the shoe. The best thing this shoe has going for it is it's stylish, low profile look.

It fit fine fell apart within 2 weeks of skating ??

These run small. I usually wear a 9 1/2 but wear a 10 in these. Hands down my favorite skate shoe. I've skated lots of different brands but always enjoy skating these the most. Board feel is amazing but you pay a price with sole durability. They wear out pretty fast but these ate still my all time favorite shoe to skate.

I just ordered my third pair of these. The cupsole is responsive enough for good board feel, and supportive enough that my feet don't get sore after a session. They're a little tight widthwise out of the box, but they break in after a few wears. My previous shoes were the Dickson's, which are great shoes, but my feet get too sore wearing vulc shoes due to old injuries. These are great if you like vulc shoes, but are too old to still skate them.

My son is very picky about his skateboarding shoes. Being on a tight budget makes it even harder. I found these on sale and he loves them. He said they are very durable for skateboarding, so far. Great quality. Thank you

I really have enjoyed this shoe. The fit is pretty good, the only problem seems to be that after wearing them for a while it rubs against the back of my heal and can leave a little soreness.

Definitely heed the comments about sizing! You'll want to size-up by half a size, in part because they are unusually narrow and the angle in the slightly pointed toe makes them feel tighter. It's unusual for me to size up, but this required it. For reference, I'm a 9 in Vans, size 9.5 in these babies. That being said, they're great. I love to skate, but I've never been sold on skate shoes as fashion, so the low profile and design subtlety of these is really a welcome departure from the huge clonky 90's shoe. Emerica has consistently produced my favorite skate shoes since my first pair of Reynolds 20 years ago, and the design of these and the Figueroa (pretty similar) feels like the future. The sole is really killer at taking impact, there's a ton of boardfeel, and even though they're super thin and it's very clear that you'll shred through these twice as fast as something like the 90's Reynolds, they're also about 40% cheaper. So you take a slight financial hit for the sake of style, but it's not exploitive, and the price suggests that Emerica planned this thoughtfully. If you want to skate well-built shoes that feel great, but you don't want to walk around looking like a 16 year old boy, these are perfect.

I really liked the style of these although I wasn't as crazy about the color when I actually saw them. I usually go for darker shoes so they don't end up really dirty. The comfort was really poor IMHO. With the shoe technology out there in the world, there's no reason why the sole of a shoe shouldn't be awesome. The shoes were WAY too narrow. I found this to be true with Lakais as well. This particular Vans style shoe needs a 21st century upgrade, not a same ol' same ol'.

Awesome style and grip, but strangely narrow. I've never thought of myself as having a wide foot and I've never had to order a size up because of width issues, but with this shoe, I could hardly even fit my foot in it because it was so extraordinarily narrow. I'd definitely recommend ordering a half or full size larger than normal.

They loved the shoes but they are way smaller then what it should've been

My only regret with this purchase is that I did not buy a slightly larger size. The shoes look good, but they fit a bit tighter than I prefer. If you buy this brand, buy the next larger size to you normal size.

Pretty sleek looking shoe

They look and feel very nice. I love them. The only thing is that they get hot pretty quickly.

Little tighter than I had hoped but fingers crossed they loosen as I break them in. Love the color and style.

These are without a doubt the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn. the lower part of my achilles tendon was rub raw after walking literally 50 steps to try them out. Do not buy these.
