Horribly on the fence with this boot: and I have 2 pair to decide between. I ordered the black in 9 and was pretty pleased with the look of the shoe. Upon try on my excitement faded as the right one has a defect: the inner sole wasn't glued properly so there's a giant bumpy seam at the toe that causes my 3rd and 4th toes to painfully splay w/every step. Not thrilled, at this price point to discover sloppy craftsmanship, I nevertheless decided to reorder another pair but this time in the wine color. While the black was far from supple, I could tell there'd be virtually no break-in time as they are, except for the flaw, really comfy. However, the wine pair I received is like another whole boot! Super stiff and truly like a men's construction boot, it's coated in nasty ashy-feeling dust and just hard as a rock stiff. I'm now stuck deciding between paying for an inner sole repair in the boot I want, or attempting a long painful break-in period in the wine because now Zappos has sold out of 9s! All this to say: these suffer from a huge quality control/consistency issue so beware. (As far as fit, I'd say it's TOS in length and width. The rounded toe is not cowboy-ish as another review mentioned. I'd describe these as 'festival chic combat boots'; it's a hippie meets motorcycle boot thing. The stacked heel and super faded/matte leather makes them stand out from Docs and if you're familiar with the typical Bed Stu or Frye boots, these are pretty similar.) It's cute, ladies. But it ain't THAT cute unless you get them on a deep sale and luck out with a pair crafted from their rugged, yet still pretty soft leather. And without a horrid flaw. Good luck!

I just got these boots and put them right on with thin socks. They are very true to size, I am a 6 and they fit like a 6. They are hard soles, but I am very used to wearing wood clogs so this didn't bother me. Another plus is I live in Seattle and they are very weather proof. I walked my dogs in them in the rain and my feet stayed dry and warm. I agree they are slippery and I did slip in them a couple of times. I like the rugged combat look. No pointy toe at all. I like the heel better than Docs, a nice little bit of a lift. Thumbs up.

Got these in the mail 3 days ago and I am in love. At first I was hesitant to spend this much on a pair of shoes but once I got them and walked around for a day I was sold. I ordered a size 10 which is what I normally wear and they fit perfectly. While it's true they don't really have any arch support I felt no discomfort walking around in them for 2 days straight. They definitely do not have a "cowboy" look to them at all. They look like combat boots which is exactly what I wanted. I almost purchased a pair of Doc Martens but I feel like everyone and their mother owns a pair of those and I'm not a big fan of how glossy they look. These have a distressed look to them which I love. The quality of the boots is excellent and I know they will last a very long time. Worth the money!

These are gorgeous boots...love the distress on them! Color is fantastic! Fit is very poor on me. I take an 8 in boots and the fit around my foot is unsatisfactory, loose in one area and too big in another. I can't fix it with thick socks. Back they go, so sad. I love Freebird Boots but have found I must be careful with the fit. I will always go Freebird before shopping other brands. Just sayin'.

Love the look of these, stylish and rugged, exactly what I was looking for. The leather is quite stiff, so it's best to wear thick socks. Fit is true to size.

These are seriously over-priced for what they are, but I fell in love with the look and couldn't resist. I normally wear a 9 1/2 or 10, and these 10s are very comfortable in the sizing. No arch support and the leather footbed is not lightly cushioned - it's very hard, but I wore them for a full day right out of the box without a problem. My biggest complaint is that although there is some tread on the front part, the heel is very smooth and it makes them overall pretty slippery, especially to wear in the winter. The toe is also a little more pointy than I expected, giving the boot more of a 'cowboy' look than an 'engineer' look (I'm used to wearing Docs). I would give them more stars if they were about priced less.

Cute boot, but forget about walking in these things. Horribly uncomfortable on the soles of your feet. After awhile I was limping and now have to pay for really good insoles and well as the exorbitant price of the boot. Looks like a combat boot, but the most uncomfortable boot ever. I could see if I bought 4 inch heels for going out to dinner, but BOOTS? I'm determined to make these work because I can't see throwing away this money!

I really wanted to like these. I ordered them in red and black. I didn't lot either. They are quite stiff, especially the red. They also are extremely "distressed." I understand the style, and generally like it (which is why I ordered them) but these just look old and worn out. Also seemed to run a bit large.
