This is a high-quality, durable, stylish and versatile backpack. It's the best backpack I've ever owned. Yes, it's expensive but it will last for years with little to no maintenance. The material is even waterproof! There is nothing to complain about this backpack or any concerns. Perfect for heavy college textbooks, work stuff or a daypack for hiking/the beach. Buy it.

This is a super durable pack with beautiful lines and clean seams (no hanging strings). I love it but it is pretty small so I'm exchanging for the medium. It is not comfortable if you have a lot of heavy books in it because they dig into your back. I'm hoping that with a larger pack this won't be as much of a problem.

Great laptop for commuting for work if you have a small laptop and not too many extras. Comfortable, breathes well, and the neutral color matches most everything. The straps do take a little longer to fix on than other bags and I never use the internal cinch. Overall very happy with this bag.

This is a good, durable rucksack. I bought it to use mostly as a second carry on. I don't know about a 15" laptop, but a 12" fits along with everything I would normally put in a purse plus the cosmetics bag, neck pillow, etc I keep with me on a flight.
The back straps and closure straps are all adjustable by several inches to accommodate different heights and more or less stuffing. Also an excellent choice for a day hike if you need to carry some food, water or extra clothing layers.
A good value.

I've had Fjallraven packs before and am a fan of the g1000 fabric. It starts off fairly water resistant from the factory and can be made moreso by using some sort of wax product. Despite the waterproofing though, it doesn't scream "technical gear." This bag in particular is "cute" and sometimes gets compliments from strangers. It's on the smaller, compact side which works well for daily work things and short day hikes.

These backpacks are the most popular thing in Sweden right now. All the expensive outdoor stores have them.

This backpack hold a lot of stuff. Side pockets are too skinny for a water bottle, so I use them for maps, bug spray, or utensils. The internal pockets are really nice for keeping items secure and accessible

I loved the design of this bag but once full, it tipped forward. Also, its not very big on the inside compared to other backpacks I have that are the same dimensions. It is a shame as the construction and layout is nice....so sadly, this will be going back.

I wanted to love this bag so badly but it was terribly uncomfortable. The straps were positioned awkwardly (a bit too narrow) and the bag didn't support the weight of my ultra-light laptop leaving my shoulders aching after a quick walk from the bus stop.

Love this bag! I'm female and 5'3" and the small size works perfectly for me! I do quite a bit of traveling so I'm really happy I chose such a durable bag. I was initially going to buy a Herschel little America bag; however, the fabric seems like it won't last quite as long as the Fjallraven. This will also make the perfect day bag for backpackers, and I plan to take it to Europe with me. Materials are great quality, and the leather accents are a great touch. Truly a designer daily backpack. At first, I was unsure of the strap length because I didn't want the bag sitting so high on my back. But the last hole makes it sit in the perfect spot. It also comes with a removable padding for your laptop which is nice.

i really didn't like this bag, the bag is made of this tough material and its unfortunately very stiff and uncomfortable when wearing it. also the rope used to tie/close the bag is so annoying to use, it doesn't close smoothly. it also looks very awkward when you wear it because the bag is so stiff. im not sure if this will change as it is worn more and more or if it will stay this way. the shape/style of the bag is nice but given these other things, i would not recommend it.

I've tried three different Fjallraven packs in my search for the perfect do-everything school, work, and day hike pack: Kanken, Foldsack No. 1, and this Rucksack No. 21 Small.
I wanted to make it work with this pack, because it is so gall-darned good-looking, but it is not sized for an adult male. The back panel is very narrow, measuring a mere 9.5" across. This causes the straps to dig into my sides and shoulders and put the weight of the pack too high up on my back. A 15" laptop DOES NOT fit. This pack is clearly best for 1-2 small books, 1-2 small notebooks, a very small laptop/tablet, and your lunch. This pack really shouldn't be in the "Men's" category. But it fits my petite girlfriend perfectly!
The design also falls short in practical usability. The leather straps are wonderful and rugged, and could potentially be used to carry other things outside the pack, like a hatchet and kindling. But functionally they stick in their metal buckles and can't be easily opened. Once you do manage to pry them free, the inside of the pack is closed by a tedious rope drawstring. Be prepared to set this pack down and spending some time opening it anytime you want something out of it.
Once you get through that, the main compartment is a black hole. There is one mid-size open outside pocket, with no zipper or secure way to close it, it's just held under the top flap. And two small inside pockets: one odd drawstring pocket (mostly useless) and one small pencil-holder sized zip pocket mounted up top. If there's anything in them, these two pockets get in the way of finding anything in the main compartment. But my main complaint is that there's no way to tighten up the pack to prevent smaller loads from shifting around in the big main compartment.
Thus far, among the three, the Foldsack No. 1 is winning by a large margin. The Kanken has great top handles and has the perfect dimensions for books, lunch, and 11-13" laptop, but the straps are thin and have only two settings: child-sized OR resting the weight of the pack on the lower back. It also doesn't have a very "manly" look. Check out the Foldsack No. 1!

This is a great looking and well made backpack
I bought it as an alternative to a purse for travel. The reality is that the closures make
it very inconvenient to get in and out of the pack with ease. Also, the interior is small,
cramped and obstructed by a floppy drawstring closure on the inside. It takes getting used to.
Stylish is not always convenient. Having said that, it is very light to carry around all day due to its design.

Way too small!
This backpack is extremely small! I could barely fit my 13in laptop and 2 notebooks. Also, this bag hurt my back when I tried it on since it would tilt forward for some reason and put all the pressure on my lower back. On the plus side this backpack is very beautiful. I ended up returning it and buying the Fjallraven foldsack. The foldsack has a ton of room and feels more comfortable on my back.

The small bag is way too small for a tall man (6'2"). Doesn't fit a 15" laptop screen - the description must be referring to the total dimensions of the laptop. Also, the interior of the bag is not designed well for daily commute - the waterproof drawstring closure at the top of the interior makes it difficult to get anything from it or put anything in the bag. I want to love it because the exterior is cool. but... no.
