Last year I landed hard on my left heel and injured it. It still is not better and hurts constantly. Walking or standing causes constant pain. I have worn zero-drop, barefoot style shoes for years and have resisted buying regular, over-padded sneakers. My physical therapist recommended these on Tuesday and they came on Wednesday (Thank you, Zappos!). They fit well and are so comfortable. They have a zero drop and wide toe box, and the padding is heaven. I am walking around now with no pain. Finally!

Just got this yesterday and am returning them today. I was very disappointed in this shoe. I had gone through several pairs of the Intuition 1.5 and aside from some manufacturing problems had been happy with them. So despite my reservations about Altra's new direction of added even more cushioning, I decided to order the new model, a mistake. First of all the manufacturing process seems to have gotten even worse, these shoes seemed to be really poorly/cheaply made. Not finished off, loose threads dangling. The front of one shoe had odd indentations where the upper did not quite match the size/shape of the sole. The laces were the cheapest, junkiest laces I have ever seen anywhere - besides being very short, one of them could not even be re-laced, since the end would not come out of the top hole, due to the plastic end of the lace being only partially sealed. Fit was poor - these shoes were shorter than the same size in the 1.5, and the toe box was oddly small and tight. Worst of all though, in my opinion, was the design of the sole. They are not flat, they are curved, with the midsole being thicker than the heel and forefront, so they rock backwards and forwards. So basically kind of like walking/running on the bottom of a rocking chair. Maybe I just missed it, but I did not see this mentioned anywhere in the descriptions I saw of this shoe. I hope that Altra gets it's act together. I really liked their original concept of zero drop, foot fitting shoes, with some cushion. I had also wanted to try their new One-2 model, but after seeing the quality of these shoes, am going to look else where for now and hope that future Altra's will be better.

I have the Intuition 1.5...these fit very similar. Color is accurate and these shoes are very comfy...I am on my feet all day and I alternate these and Keen. I size up one size for adequate room in my toe box Also shout out for Zappos...have recommended you to two other people. How does anyone not know about your awesome service?

I found these shoes to be too narrow in the toe box and I needed to order half a size up than my other running shoes. I gave them three stars for style because they are narrow in the toe box. The manufacturer also told me that this model is wider than the Torin and that is not true. Otherwise, they seem like awesome shoes. I sure hope this manufacturer considers creating wider shoes for those of us who need it.

These shoes are so comfortable!! I bought them to add a running shoe into my routine and was told that these helped to enforce efficient midfoot running. Because of a previous knee injury, I run shorter distances in these and longer distances in my more supportive Asics. I recommend these and also recommend easing into them like Altra recommends. My ankles and calves definitely noticed a change in position. I started with 1 mile and gradually increased. One final note, the Altra website recommended a size 7 but I wound up keeping the 7 1/2.

I can't review these as running shoes because I use them for casual wear. I bought the white with green trim and they have a cute funky look. The Altra perfectly flat sole (zero drop) and the wide toe box make these some of the most comfortable and healthy shoes I've ever worn. I also have the Lone Peak 1.5 in black that I also use for casual wear. The two shoes have a different feel so if you're a runner I suggest you try more than one style.

I have run in Altra Provisioness and Merrell Dash Gloves the last 3 years. I purchased both these Altras and the Torin 1.5. Love them both; I was running in my Provisioness with no insoles (including what Altra provided) but wanted a zero drop shoe with some cushioning for longer road runs. These are great but definitely run a half size smaller than any of the other Altras I've tried. I usually wear a 9.5 in Altras & had to go with a 10 in these. One note, the laces these shoes come with are quite short, barely can be tied using a standard lacing method. If you need to do any modified lacing (say to further cinch the heel as I prefer), then you will be disappointed. I've not yet contacted Altra to ask what happened there. If the lace issue is a deal-breaker for you, go with the Torins in your standard Altra size. The laces are plenty long without being excessive. As mentioned they are ideal for road conditions. I've run long distances in mixed conditions & feel they are a bit too "squirrelly" on trails. Maybe it's been so long that I've been in a pure minimal shoe, but the feedback from the shoe is just a bit off, so I prefer these for long runs on the road.

Great shoe and true to size. These fit like the Intuition 1s, but I think they might have a little more thickness to the sole. I like the extra padding because sometimes my ankles were slightly sore from impact if I wore the Intuition 1s all day. I love Altras!

I have flat feet and neuropathy, I am always looking for a shoe that will not squeeze my toes. This shoe is PERFECT!! My toes are not crunched and the pain is much less. These would also be great for people who have bunions. They are comfy for everyday wear, especially if you stand a lot. I highly recommend them.

Perfect running shoe for me. I had the earlier version, with less/no cushioning, and that was good; this is the best of both worlds, for me, with the caveat that because I tend to get tendinitis in one ankle, I wear them with superfeet insoles. They allow plenty of room for your forefoot to spread out and they allow for the bunion (sigh) that I have on one foot, but they don't slip at the heel. I had no problem adjusting to the zero drop with the first Intuition, although I did, as recommended, start with easy runs. Not sure yet about durability with this one. With the earlier Intuition, the heel strike wore down quickly, but that's a flaw of my running form more than of the shoe. Colors are not suited to my fashion sense, but that's typical for a running shoe.

I have the boniest, most pain-filled filled in the history of feet! I love these shoes! First of all, I never find cute shoes, which these are; but secondly, they feel like little pillows of loveliness under every bone sticking out of the bottom of my foot (which, in every other shoe, feels the ground and the pebbles). I cannot say enough good things about it. There is another shoe one up from this shoe, called the Altra Olympus, which I also own. I love them both. The Olympus has even more cushioning than this one. My feet are so bad, I cannot wear the same shoe all day, I must change them. These are the best shoes I have ever owned in my entire life! I will say this: they run short. Olympus especially: Definitely order a size up or you will regret it. I've had so many people try mine on and say they are too small/narrow. Order up! They are great. My husband has them too, as does one of my sons by week's end! We are now a family of addicts! My husband's back does not hurt anymore. It does seem like the men's run more true to size for some reason. They sell out really fast; so if they have your size -- do what I do: If the shoe fits, buy it in every color!

Shoe runs small, I normally wear an 8.5 but the 9.0 fit perfectly. Very comfortable shoe. Laces are very short.

All of the reviews said to order a half size wider. I did and they were still a little snug. I do have wide feet and also ordered the men's shoe. I am keeping the men's.

I often wonder if shoe manufacturers read these reviews. First I'll state that I'm a big Altra fan and use the men's Lone Peak for trail running and backpacking and was hoping to use the Intuition for road running, but was disappointed in the sizing and quality. Altra, if it isn't broke don't fix it! The Intuition is now smaller and shorter than previously so order a size up! Laces are cheap and short, sewing seams on the tongue look terrible and have loose strings...um, quality control get with it or we will be looking elsewhere, people are noticing! And the shoe is running narrower...Altra this will kill you as a company since we look to you for room in the toes. I can no longer wear women's Altras, and I have small feet and a ten was too tight so I guess I'll be buying the men's from now on.

I was told by Altra that this shoe would afford more room than the Torin 1.5...not so for my foot. In fact, the Intuition 2 seems to run quite small. Therefore, it was difficult to say whether or not it would have been comfortable for walking or running. I really like the concept and wish I could find one of their models that worked for my finicky feet! Also, not too crazy about the color.
