I was looking for a pair of "summer' boots and thought I liked the style of these until I put them on my feet. like other people have said, the ankle straps are way to loose and even if you put more holes in them, the tongue will still stick out funny. I have other Freebird boots and was expecting these to be distressed. Because I got the light taupe, the smudging of the distressing looked terrible! I think they will look better in a darker color. The fit was OK. A little tight without socks but I was expecting that. Leather boots always need to be broken in. I'll keep looking!

These boots arrived the day after I ordered them which was amazing; however, like other reviewers, they just weren't comfortable. These are really good looking distress boots and really cool; however, I took the advice of others to order a size smaller and the 7 I ordered just is too snug. I normally wear a 7 1/2. I am debating exchanging for an 8 but fear they will be too big. Anyone do this?

Overall style is nice but too distressed. Entire boot and back zippers are stiff. They fit narrow. Wish they were more comfy as I really do like the overall design and the taupe color but for the price point they fall short. Also should come in half sizes.

Beautiful boot, but sizing didn't work for me. Normally I'm a 9. So I ordered a 9. Like their other boots I found them to be a full size too small. So I ordered the 10 which felt like a 10.5 with socks! So these guys aren't for my foot. Bummer.

There was so much I loved about these boots. The style is perfect -- not too dressy, not too casual, and the perfect heel height. They are made of good quality real leather, which I find is almost always superior to imitation leather in terms of aesthetics and wear. The problems? Well, they're rather pricey for my budget. But if not for the critical mass reached due to combination of the following three issues, I think I'd have kept them anyway. That's how cool I found them otherwise. 1. Not great arch support, and due to the style-defining cutouts, my usual solution -- arch-enhanced insoles -- was not advisable. 2. They went a little overboard on the "distressing" part. The pair I received, in taupe, had, in addition to the expected premature aging effects, at least one prominent, roughly circular, 1" diameter splotch that looked like someone had stuck their thumb in axle grease and then molested the boot. 3. The front and should-have-been-center panel of leather angled precipitously to the inner ankle, causing the boots to hug the outside of my ankles and gape widely on the interior sides. Admittedly, I do have rather narrow ankles, which may have exaggerated the offensiveness of this aspect. Sadly, I am reluctantly returning these otherwise gorgeous boots.

I am so in love with these shoes. They're adorable and always catch people's attention. They're perfect for Spring/Summer weather when I don't want to wear sandals. They were very comfortable at first, though there's been a bit of blistering, as I've refused to wear socks and the leather is stiff. What I'm broken hearted about is that after only a couple weeks of wear, the zippers on both boots have broken. I'm torn up about it because I was lucky to even find a size 11 shoe in this brand - it seems as if they don't even make size 11 (or very very few), so there is no replacing them. I guess I'll have to pony up the cash to have them professionally repaired and hope it was a fluke and not due to the structure of the boots.

I normally wear a 9 in a boot. I ordered them in 9 but they were way too big. I recorded in 8/no half size and they are too small! Ugh, love the style, hate the sizing! Returning.

I am in love with these boots, but the first pair I received had a lump on the soul of them so I had to send them back. Zappos was amazing and had my new pair to me the next day. The new pair was perfect, until about 7-8 times of wearing them and now I have broken straps, I have not been rough on them or done anything form them to break but they did. I feel like for as much as you spend on these shoes they should not be breaking or having so many issues with them.

I wanted to love this boot. I did love the style, they were super cute! But like one other reviewer, the right shoe had a hard lump in the sole that made the boot turn inward. Very strange. And for this money they need to be a little better quality.

Wanted to love these shoes. Found them to be too large on my narrow foot with no real way to tighten them. They aren't very comfortable on and my search for booties continues.

just poorly sized. I ordered a 7.5 like I always would and my foot was swimming around but it is nice looking

Sooooooooo disappointed! Ordered this boot in the black distressed, size 10, and received a size 9. The dye and distress on this boot is NOT as pictured. Looked like a totally different boot, cheap imitation, like something on Kmart clearance. If I'm paying two hundred bucks for a pair of shoes, they better rock!! They don't even look like real leather, and the color tones are not like pictured. Think they must be having these made somewhere else now, and never updated the pic. I reordered to get a size ten and they still look cheap and not as pictured. Please change the pic online if these are not available as pictured. Also, the straps are very saggy and don't fit your ankle at all. These fit more like a clog than a boot. Very, very, disappointed!

Oh how I wanted to love this boot! It's gorgeous, very high quality, and looks great on. The problem is when you walk. Both shoes made a weird popping noise that I think had to do with how the weight in my foot was distributed in the shoe. My foot had to be just right in the shoe for it not to pop, which involved my foot being in a really weird position in the shoe. I'm not sure if this is a defect in the shoe's design, or just a problem with this pair. There was no pair available in my size to trade out and see. So, sadly, back they go.

Love the shoe but they ran very narrow. I am a medium width but barely got my foot into them. If you have very narrow foot, you will love them. Unfortunately I had to return them.
