I like the way this mat feels. It has great cushioning, much more comfortable than the Prolite. I did slip around a bit in down dog when I tried a few poses but I haven't tried cleaning the surface to get rid of any factory residue. Smell was strong upon opening but it didn't bother me too much. I expected it. I did notice that every little thing seems to stick to this mat, lint, dust,etc. i only unrolled it once but I could see how this would be a bit of an issue. I am not sure if I will keep it mainly because of the labeling instructions saying that it can't handle heat. I live in Texas and I can't be sure that I will always be able to go home after my practice. Can't handle having my mat melt. Hope this helps someone. I waited months for someone to post a review of these new mats and finally decided I would have to try for myself.

I bought this mat as a fairly new student, on recommendation of my Hatha teacher. She told me her last eKo mat had lasted through 9 years of daily use. This was music to my ears, as I'd worn out my first cheap mat in about 2 months. I practice 3 to 5 days a week. My eKo has held up awesome for over 2 years now. I live in Texas and store it in the trunk of my car. Most mats would get tacky & degrade in extreme heat, but this one's really been great. I will never buy a different mat, so long as they keep making eKo. It's cushy, smooth, yet grips well, preventing slippage. Definitely worth the money. By the way, you can help get rid of that recycled tire smell by hanging it outside in the sunshine a while. I clean it with a 50/50 solution of white vinegar & water. It dries surprisingly fast.

I have been searching for the perfect yoga mat since a while now. I was not willing to invest too much for an accessory but changing my mat every year for my daily pratice was no longer a solution. So I hope this mat will last. For now I still have this disturbing smell of the mat but it's the best mat I ever had so far. With a good trip.gor dynamic flows, soft enough for my yin pravtice it fulfills all my expectations. It's the first time in my ten years practice that I feel the impact of the mat on the practice. The stability sensations in postures is just. Woooaaa! I even improved my handstand practice Inna few days compared with my new mat.

I love that this mat is made with eco friendly processes and materials. The surface is great- especially compared to the cheap department store mat that it replaced. Manduka even recycled my old mat! The color is a lovely dark purple.

I bought this mat at my yoga studio about 2 weeks ago and I regularly practice hot yoga, which means I need a strong grip. This mat does just what I need! No slip and it doesn't seem to soak up all the sweat and water like other regular mats do. I 100% recommend this mat for all yogis out there.

Love the eKo series of mats, I have the 5mm cushioning and love the cushion and the way the rubber has a good grip right out of the box. I store it in my trunk in Southern California and per the other reviewers comments it is just fine, no issues with the heat. I clean it with the Manduka rubber mat cleaner.

I bought this mat a few weeks ago and I am so obsessed! I have struggled with slipping on other Manduka mats and this one has been perfect. It has so much traction and I don't slip at all. Highly recommend!!

I have the more expensive manduka pro and it’s nice but this one is much cushier and not as bulky. Selenge is beautiful color. Great length for me at 5’7”.

I love my new yoga mat, it’s so comfortable to stand on it, lots of cushion support yet stable. I use it every day:)

I got this mat over a month ago and I love it. It's the first yoga mat I've had that's long enough and can keep up with my yoga practice. I used for Pilates too! I'm absolutely loving it!

Love this mat. Have no smell at all. Used it at my yoga class which works pretty good. The only thing is I wish it has more colors to choose from.

Love my new yoga mat! Had a funny small at first, which I expected base on material used to make mat, but after leaving it rolled out for a few days, smell quickly went away. Very happy with my purchase and when highly recommend Manduka.

I'm happy with my choice. I enjoy the colour, it remainds me summer and blue lagoons - good vibes from the beginning :) The most important, though, is that the grip is very good so I don't slip at all. Mat is also comfortable - nothing hurts me during my yoga. The smell is strong at the begining but after 2-3 days it's much better (I've left it unrolled for few days). Now after a month I almost don't feel it. The mat is a bit heavy of course but I mostly practise at home so it's not a problem for me.

High-quality mat! I am a yoga teacher and this is my first professional-grade mat. I am so happy with this purchase! I wanted something durable, sustainable, and with a more natural hue. Purple is my favorite color, so the acai berry is gorgeous, not too bright or artificial-looking. The mat has excellent cushion, perfect for jumping from down dog to ardha uttanasana. I am thrilled with the mat's ability to handle the impact. It does have a strong rubber odor, as I had read in other customer reviews, but I trust that this will fade over time, and I think it's worth it for the eco-friendly material. I like the textured pattern on the surface, too (different than generic mats). My only issue is that the mat is rather heavy and I think I should have bought the lite version. However, I plan on getting a Pro Lite so I can leave the Eko mat at home and carry a lighter one to my classes.

I was shopping for a travel mat to replace one I lost when I saw the eKo mat. I'm thrilled with my purchase. It's the Goldilocks mat; not too thick and not too thin. The grip is perfect, no break-in period needed. Pretty blue color. Too heavy for travel but a reasonable weight for transporting to classes

I liked the Manduka 5mm yoga mat so much that I bought a 2nd one to have on hand when I visit my daughter in NY. It provides a great cushion for my aging knees and the grip is good.
