I trained and raced in the Gravity IV and the Distance 7 and they were true to size with a slightly wider toe box in the Distance 7 but the overall fit was OK. The Distance Elites are with the old 4-lug platform and I didn't feel any difference regarding stability since I mostly use Newtons for racing and fast paced/tempo runs. The Distance Elites lack the Newtonium cushioning introduced by Newton in the Distance 6 and its successor the Distance 7 and the 4-lug platform was beneficiary more stiffer and I felt the shoe is slightly faster and more responsive then the Distance 7. The toe box is wide and they run half size large. I'll be adding the Elites to my rotation and will use them for olympic triathlon distance and 5-10k tempo runs and will be replacing my Distance 7 when retired with a half size smaller of the Distance Elites where I could use them for half marathon and marathon racing without worrying from a non perfect fit and having to pull the laces a bit harder to secure proper fit due to the wider toe box. The outsole is starting to experience some slight wearing from the heel contrarily to the more durable distance 7 but hopefully they survive till the 450-500k mark. The asymmetrical lacing system and the mesh are perfect and the shoe is markedly light and should be saved for tempo runs and race day to elongate the shoe life.

I’ve been running with the Newton Running brand since 2012 and they have been exceptional shoes for me. I have low arches and no pronation/supination issues. I historically had knee, ankle, IT band pain and the Newton design has eliminated all of that for me. I recently contacted HQ in Boulder and they go out of their way to locate specific models for me that are not even available on their current website. So the Brand itself offers great customer service. If you are looking for a super light weight racer/trainer for long distances (26.2++), then consider Newton as your next shoe. Zappos has offered Newton for quite a while now and deliver shoes within 2 days (sometimes next day!) and they have a great return system that makes it super easy to get everything right. They have even sent the exchanged pair before receiving the return just to make sure I have the shoes much faster. A++++ All the way!

Love Newton Running...converter almost 2 years ago and can no longer run with any other brand of shoes. Super lightweight, raced a half marathon and marathon and PRed both thanks to the Newton Distance Elite. the 4 lug has great response and stability.

These are very comfortable shoes. I use them as every day and running shoes. They work very well for running and are still comfortable after a full day of wearing them.

It takes little time to adjust but is great for 5Ks and track workout. I even ran a half marathon with it and felt good. My calves felt it and perhaps were not best for long distance running but I love them. Feels in between bare foot running and cushioning.

Great comfortable shoe. But note that this is above all not built for a daily training, as it trades off support for performance.
