I have been trying to warn potential customers that despite the rave reviews, the Spring Step shoes are not durable on the long run. It looks like Zappos does not want to publish my review though. Spring Step shoes look great a first, but the quality does not match the style. They are disappointing especailly for the price.

This is a great looking boot with good arch support; however, there is not enough cushioning in the foot bed, so I'm returning.

A beautiful, dressy though flat-heeled bootie. It does run narrow, which was why I picked it for my narrow, flat-instep feet with long big toe. I also have thin ankles, and was pleased that they fit the ankle fairly snugly without pressing uncomfortably on my ankle-bone. The leather is thin, soft, and has a sheen. I am a museum docent, on my feet but have to look nice. Tried these boots for that purpose and they were fine. I did insert a gel pad with an arch support, and will probably add a foam pad on top for a more cushioned, snugger fit with tights or thin hose.

These boots are every bit as yummy as they look. These will work for you if you like supple leather that is not too thick. The sizing was great, support appears to be alright. I only tried them on, and had to return them. For reference I have fairly flat feet, small heels and skinny ankles. The style was great, but I was very unhappy with the quality of the craftsmanship. You can tell this leather will not hold up to scuffs, and the lining that protects the side of your foot from the zipper is paper thin. For this price point I expect details like that to be taken care of. Although my feet are narrow/average width, I could feel the zipper pressing against my feet. No can do. For reference I have fairly flat feet, small heels and skinny ankles. I average 9 - 10, mainly 9½ in boots and the 40 was my correct size.

Cute and comfy: enough said, right? :) I own these in black and brown. The fold-over detail adds subtle interest but the boot is a "quiet" one: an elegant, understated way to complete an outfit. Super-comfy. The low heel is just enough to help keep my arch comfortable without putting strain on my legs. It is true to size but is a *little* snug: it fits perfectly when I wear stockings or very thin socks, but the toe box feels cramped if I wear thicker socks.

I got these booties for work and they do a nice job of seeming both professional and a bit spicy. I can also wear them with skinny pants or jeans for a nice evening look. I don't like heels and find the low heel just fine, even for standing all day (at my standing desk). I have several pairs of Spring Step shoes and appreciate their understated style and comfort.

I bought my first pair of these boots 10 years ago and I loved them. They fit my narrow heels, they look amazing on my size 11 feet and I constantly got compliments about them. I wore them 6 months of a year and after 3 years, when the heels wore down, I bought a new pair. I've now purchased this boot 4 times and each time I get less and less wear out of the boot and then go back to rewearing the old boots that I kept because they still have more wear left than the newest version. In my first boots, the heels were the first part of the shoe to fall apart. The leather has changed and now it is so thin that it almost immediately wears off the sides. The toe of the shoe and the sides of the heel show immediate wear after just a few times wearing the boot. In my pictures, the shoes appear worn out and that boot is almost brand new. Despite how gorgeous these shoes are, they no longer last more than a month or two with careful wear. In addition, the price has drastically increased, but they are clearly not putting the increase into the boot as the leather is now half as thick as it once was.

These boots are stylish, particularly with the toe being slightly pointed, and the folded over collar is a nice touch. With the zipper on the outside, putting them on is a bit awkward compared to boots with the zipper on the inside. The height of the heel is good, just high enough to be a bit dressy, but not so high that you lose stability, and they look good with both pants and tights. The main issue I have is the complete lack of padding in the footbed. I can deal with having little padding at the heel, but I had to add a Foot Petals insert in the front to protect the ball of my foot. For a brand that sells itself on comfort, this lack of padding was surprising. Also, a minor concern is that the material on the bottom of the boot makes it a bit loud when walking on hard floors.

Love these boots. I ordered 6 pairs of black boots and kept two of them, these included. Slipping my feet into them felt like slipping into bedroom slippers. While they are a little loose that is a good thing; for once my toes don't hurt after a long day wearing them. Highly recommend!

This is the 3rd pair of these I have ordered from Zappos. I have fragile narrow feet in pain from MS and surgery. These have just the right heel height to protect my knees, just the right rise to protect my ankles, can be worn with different sock thickness and are comfortable all day. Would be nice with skirts but I am 59 and only wear them with slacks and jeans. They have a clean timeless look and are exceptionally made. Good brand and the best with Zappos customer service.

Stylish and comfortable boot that is unfortunately made of low-quality materials. Initially, I liked them so much at first that I bought a second pair, but unfortunately both pairs have fallen apart very quickly. I reached out to Spring Step and they do not stand by their workmanship: they offered me 20% off a new pair of boots, which is absurd considering the cost of the boot and the relatively short amount of time I've used them. I won't be buying Spring Step products again.

These are beautiful boots that are reasonably supportive, particularly for dressy/professional boots. Unfortunately, they have worn out very, very quickly. The material is very vulnerable to holes and tears, and even though I've only worn them in moderate weather on city streets and inside buildings, they are looking extremely worn and damaged at this point. For an expensive pair of shoes, I expect much more durability.

I LOVE these boots...the leather is so soft and they are so comfortable. I bought these in black...love them so much, I ordered them in brown. I wear a 7-1/2 to an 8...in boots probably an 8 and got these in the "38" and they are perfect. Wore them the first time all day today...comfy as slippers.

OK, I don't know if I'll be allowed to tell you this, but IMHO, this shoe IS the same as the Regarde Le Ciel Stefany O3, but for $20 less. Check it out; they are exactly the same. The sole, the design, the leather. The leather on this, by the way, is fantastic. Soft yet substantial (Just like in Regarde Le Ciel boots). The support is good, the comfort is good. It is not a padded sole, but it is well made. I personally didn't keep this boot because I realized it is too sleek looking for me/my style and I'm trying to spend my clothing budget as prudently as I can, but I wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending it.

I have 5 pairs of these boots in different colors bec the leather is over the top soft, the footbed has cushion and the style of the boot compliments the foot. The toe is not too pointy. The colors are rich. I always look forward to wearing these each fall and winter.

Great low boot for the office or weekend outing. I'm over 6' tall and was looking for low-heeled boot to wear to work. These are great. Can wear with dress and tights or pants. Very comfortable and professional looking also.

These are so chic, comfy, and just generally excellent boots.

This bootie was exactly what I was looking for. Very comfortable right out the box and looks great with jeans as well as dressier clothes. I was disappointed to learn it was made in China and wondering about the chemicals known to cause cancer?????

Very cute boot. I think I read that other wearers thought it ran small, so I ordered 1/2 size up. I found it very true to size, so had to re-order my normal size.

These did not fit, but I think they would be comfortable if they did. The heels were not narrow enough for me. I ordered navy and thought they were black. I would say they are blueish black! But they are a very soft leather and flexible. The style is go with everything plain and I would have loved wearing them if they had fit. Not unusual for my feet.

These boots are beautiful and the leather is just gorgeous. However, I'm returning them - it's not the boots, it's me! Having been self-employed and working at home for 20+ years, I have been spoiled by wearing comfy clothes and "comfort brand" shoes. I would have found these boots to be comfortable back in the days when I wore business attire every day, but I didn't think I could get used to them as they fit me more like a "business shoe" and not something I could walk around in all day. If I had to dress up all the time I would not hesitate to get these. I'm going with a Naot pair instead as they are also beautiful and better suit my lifestyle.

Overall really like this bootie. Heel is low enough for comfort. As some others mentioned there isn't a lot of cushioning. Would definitely like more but I kept them anyway. Not an all day, walking shoe to me but sufficiently comfortable for work.

The best part about these boots is their flexible upper material. It makes them extremely comfortable and stylish. These boots feel like a second skin. If you use them for work like I do they will scratch. I wear them pretty much every day, so I don't mind replacing them once a year. They are just the perfect combination of style + comfort. I haven't found anything quite like them. I have bought three pairs so far and I hope Spring Step continues to makes them with the same quality, they are my favorite!

The bootie ran a little wide. I guess with heavy socks you could get away with it but the leather wasn't great and I didn't think it was worth the money.
