The material on these is very strange and more plastic-ky than flexible, which you would expect for running shoes. Very strange. Otherwise they were comfortable.

After staying away from barefoot shoes for a bit I am so glad to be running in them now! These are extremely comfortable and I am really happy to be running in them. They have also been great for lifting too. I would not plan on running on pavement in these though! I just run in people's lawns next to the sidewalk and that has been great. I have not run too much on trails yet so I am a little concerned that there is not enough traction on them. So far running in the mud I have not had any trouble though.

This is my third or fourth pair of Vivobarefoot shoes. I had the benefit of knowing my size, and it felt true to the previous sizes. My older pair had removable soles, and this pair does not, it seems they made it into a single piece. It is very comfortable. I order size 43, and I'm usually a 10.5 in Adidas, or 10-10.5 in Nike, probably a 10 in New Balance. If you are new to barefoot shoes, I would consider these advanced, so make sure you've worked you way down before using these, or if you buy them, start off light before building yourself up.

Outstanding minimalist shoe. 0-drop between heel and forefoot, responsive non-slip sole. Provides enough room for the toes to spread while giving you grip and protection.

This is my second pair of Vivobarefoot Evo Pures and I will be buying more. I bought them in a size smaller than my first pair, which ran a bit loose - but not loose enough to send them back :) I left a review earlier about the black/red Evo Pure style I bought in size 44. I'm female, and I wear 11-11.5 wide in other athletic shoes. I bought the blue/orange this time in size 43, and they are perfect in every way - length, width, overall feel, and stylishness. I had lost all hope in finding the right shoes, and these have solved so many issues I was having. It's almost eliminated the heel pain and knee pain I was having with some of my other go-to brands. I tried wearing some of my normal, arch-supporting shoes today to do a comparison, and my knee pain instantly returned and the heel of my foot starting hurting after a few steps. I am a Vivobarefoot believer for life. I won't be doing any more comparisons!
I'd also recommend:
None. These are in a class by themselves.

This is my second pair of Vivobarefoots. I use the heavier Notus as my daily go to or when I am on rough uneven ground. The Evo Pure is a very light shoe that is like wearing nothing at all. I am diabetic with a fair amount of sensation loss in my feet. These shoes are awesome for maintaining an intimate contact with the ground coupled with just enough shoe protecting my feet. Awesome fit. Stunning comfort out of the box.

Well, I wasn't sure what else to do when I bought these. I'd tried several pair of running/walking shoes and I was about to give up on shoes completely. Which gave me the idea - since I don't want to wear shoes anyways, why not try these? I thought about the Vibrams, but the style wasn't for me. But these babies are great! They are eye-catching and elegant looking with a low profile. No weird colors or bright clown shoes for me any longer! I like being barefoot anyways, and I really don't need these except for walking. I can't speak to the running aspect. I walk on sidewalks and some grassy areas. These feel like I'm not wearing shoes at all. I have to be careful and I feel like I'm learning to walk again since my other shoes (that shall remain nameless) caused me to have heel, ankle and knee pain. I'm recovering from those problems while learning to walk properly. These felt great right from the box. As for sizing, I thought I was going to have to go with another brand since they don't offer "wides". Guess what? You won't need a wide in this shoe! I actually could have gone with a "B" instead of the "D". Room for toes galore! Nothing is squishing my big toes, nothing tight on my wide flat feet. I love them so much. I will be buying more Vivobarefoot. I think I could have even gone down a size, but they are fine either way. Also, I'm a woman wearing a man's size because usually women's shoes don't come in my size (11, 11.5, or 12 depending on the brand). I got these in a "44" and probably could have gone down to the 43. I must have driven Zappo's crazy all the shoes I tried. I'm so glad they are such an awesome shoe "store". You won't be disappointed in these shoes. One note: I live in FL, and the asphalt gets really hot, you feel the warmth, but your feet will not burn. I don't wear socks with these because I like the whole barefoot experience.
I'd also recommend:
None, these are perfect.

Great shoe so far, have put around 200 miles on it. I'm a distance runner and any design problems become quickly apparent after you've run a few hours straight. I had concerns about the upper feeling taut, due to the funky material it's made out of, but they have been sublimely comfortable. Very light, very breathable; the most unobtrusive shoe I've worn to date.

I've been wearing vivo barefoot shoes exclusively for 5 years. These are much lighter weight than I thought. Extremely comfortable, with a wide toebox and thin sole. The colors are great, too.

I bought these as gym shoes, but started using them as light trail hikers. They are lightweight and I really enjoy the tactile feel of the ground under my feet. I've stepped on sharp rocks and not felt a thing. The wide toe box is perfect for my wide flat feet.

Great shoe. Very light, with a wide toe box and very comfortable to wear. I highly recommend the shoe for people who enjoy wearing low profile shoes with an athletic feel.

These are so light and breathable. I have put about eight miles on them and they are showing no signs of weakness. I love the sole most of all, they are incredibly thin and the width feels great for spreading out my toes. My feet feel so free in these.

Okay, so my first impression: Cheese.Blue plastic cheese. I paid this much for this? The black was not available in my size so I got the blue. It's real blue. Too loud for me but I put them on anyway and wear them everywhere(in spite of the teasing). The outer cover is actually a tough breathable nylon material with a cool tough and flexible thin sole. And now after two weeks, the things have grown on me. No, I really like them. I put them on after a long run and I wear them on errands and smile that I'm just walking around barefoot and comfy. I might try running in them... later.... I've got to toughen up first.

Great shoes, have run 60 miles a week on them for about a month and a half now. Only issue was with my big toe on the left shoe. The upper was irritating the big toe when I walked and ran. To fix this I just cut a slit so the upper was more bendable. Thing that makes these shoes great is the PRICE! Finally, a vivobarefoot shoe that isn't like 100+ dollars. great shoe. Definitely for anyone new to NO SUPPORT, you need to take it slow in the adaptation process. I'm still adapting to run higher volumes even after half a year switching to minimalist running.

Didn’t even have the opportunity to evaluate the performance of this shoe, as the blue color of the shoe’s interior bled all over my socks and feet—so much so it it even dyed my toes a little. After that happened, I promptly returned them.

These weren't my first pair of Vivo Barefoot shoes. The shoes fit exactly as expected. The plastic around the outside split at the toe within two weeks. (Two weeks!) The color was brighter than expected, not far from Ronald McDonald's shoes. Would not buy this style or color again.
