Well-made, but the split toe of the shoe tree is difficult to use and insert.

I ordered 2 pairs of shoe trees online at the same time. The first pair had sap on the cedar, so I sent those back for a replacement. The second pair had a chip in the wood near the finger grab. Unfortunately I noticed the chipping a day after I sent the sap pair back. Aside from the chipping, the quality of the tree seems adequate. I'd recommend buying the trees in store so you can inspect them yourself.

Seems pretty much like normal shoe trees. I think they're well constructed, but it's hard to think of a rating scale for something that's so standardized.

Very poor design. Very difficult to remove from shoes. The tension is so tight you have to use a lot of force and at an odd angle to push the shoe tree forward to allow it to be removed from the shoe.

Online shop version of this is simply awful. Bad quality, shape didn't match, and length was odd. Also the metal and wood was unfinished and coarse. Do not buy. I returned them immediately.

I was excited to try out my cedar shoe trees; however, I was sadly disappointed. I purchased two pair of shoe tress and both from a quality and craftsmanship perspective was terribly bad.The first pair of shoe trees had a mechanical issue that would not allow the right shoe tree to press down. The second pair of shoe trees were both left tress. Either that or I was given a defect shoe tree. I don't know what happened to Johnston and Murphy over the years, but the quality of products are just not worth spending your money on. Please avoid this place and look elsewhere.
