Finally, a big guy running shoe. There's a reason why they call it the "Beast" and it's true to its reputation. Highly recommend this shoe for all types who enjoy pounding the pavement/trails. I weigh in at an athletic 265, shoes are of utmost importance when training days involve cardio. I run trails, hills and roads and simply love this shoe. I've finally found the answer, previous expensive sneakers of various brands would quit on me after two months. Felt like the soles would bottom out and lost their POP. Brooks has created a very durable stylish running sneaker that can withstand every stride you take in any terrain.

I love this shoe. It is very comfortable and definitely provides the foot and ankle support I need. Be aware, though, that the Beast size runs small. I normally wear size 12 D (US) in shoes and boots. Starting with size 12 D in the Beast, it took me three tries before I found that size 13 D was the perfect fit for me. Both 12 D and 12 1/2 D were not long enough.

This shoe stands up to you. That's why I bought it. I needed something to correct the motion of my foot to a better efficiency. The Beast took this on and stayed the course. I have tried other shoes throughout the years and they don't take the pounding as the Beast does. Now for added out of this world master control and comfort, I pulled out the in sole and inserted SUPERFEET. I have literally created a super shoe. I typically get years from the insert and a Beast lasts about 9 months with every other day 10 mile hikes or more. When I buy a new Beast, the old ones go to my casual walk around status while the new ones are for exercising. This rotation allows me maximum return on the investment and experience. For people who need pronation correction, support and something that wont fail when hard pressed...the beast be for you.

These are quality shoes. Very comfortable this particular shoe is made for flatter footed people. If you need the stability it provides and have a medium to high arch get a good insole or arch support. Unlike other brands once you find a size that fits in Brooks shoes that size will continue to fit regardless of the style. I have worn shoes by them for a few years and have not had a reason to look for something else.

This is my 4th pair of Brooks Beast. They are still a great shoe but the sizing has change. I always bought a 10.5 for the first 3 pairs but this pair I had to send back and get an 11. The design has changed some but not much. Still, in my opinion, the best shoe on the market.

I am flat-footed, introduced to Brooks shoes 2 years ago. When wanting to buy another pair recently, I could not find the size I need nor the style I like in the stores. Decided to try Zappos for the first time. Besides getting very comfortable shoes, I had an extremely good shopping experience with Zappos this time. Even after conferring with a very patient and friendly customer service rep via online chat, I was still not sure whether I should buy size 2E or 4E. So I ordered 5 pairs of shoes over 3 different models. After thoroughly trying out all the shoes at the comfort of my home, I decided to keep one pair and return the other 4 pairs, and order another pair with a different color. Getting the(free) return shipping label online, in and out of a nearby UPS store in 30 seconds to return the shoes (faster than returning shoes to a store), the new pair of shoes was shipped to me via 2-day delivery (a pleasant surprise)! All a very pleasant shopping experience! I am hooked on Zappos!

This is a very comfortable shoe with perfect motion control (for those of us who over-pronate). I've worn nothing but for at least three years. There is one minor issue with the width - strangely, this color (gold/pavement) is narrower than the (anthracite/silver) combination. I fit the Medium width in the darker color, but had to get the Wide width in the gold/pavement shoe. This happened two years in a row, so it seems to be more than a fluke. But hey, that's what free Zappos shipping is there to solve!

I've been wearing the Beast for about 10 years now. It's an amazing shoe, and the only one I wear on a regular basis. I'm a big guy (6'2, 240 lbs) and have very flat feet. It provides phenomenal support. Be warned with the 2012 version: they made the toe box smaller. I had to go up from a 2E to a 4E.

This is my 4th pair in 8 yrs. last pair had over 500 miles on them. I have almost 100 miles on these. As a big (240+), I need a shoe that provides good support. These are lighter than earlier iterations but still provide good support. I use orthotics so I can't speak to the oem bed liner. Would buy them again.

This is the second pair of Brooks Beast 12 shoes that we have purchased for my husband. The first pair we bought at a retail store at full price. We decided he should purchase a second pair since they had helped him to be able to walk without so much pain and improved the alignment in his feet and correcting his balance problems. They have made a huge difference for him. We bought the second pair online from Zappos for a much better price. Thank you Zappos! As a result of my husband's experience with his Brooks shoes, I have also purchased a pair of women's Brooks Ariels and have found them equally impressive. I can now walk through these huge stores and warehouses shopping on concrete floors and not have the severe pain in my knee, feet and legs at the end of the day that I was experiencing prior to wearing my Brooks Ariels. We are definitely sold on Brooks shoes and get the best price from Zappos.

I love these shoes for running, and I have owned about 6 or 8 pairs. They provide excellent padding for my aging joints, and they are extremely comfortable. I recommend them highly

Great value and fast shipping from Zappos! I'll definitely order again. As for the shoe, this is the premier stability shoe for heavy runners. I'm 6'4" and 255lbs, and there is no other shoe that provides the support this one does. I use the medium width, and this model feels slightly more narrow than my previous two model years. I wouldn't be afraid to go wider if you think you need it.

These shoes were just what my husband wanted. Good support and a true fit. Also, he is conservative and the color was good.

I love Brooks Beast running shoes. I use them mostly for my daily walking and out and about errands. I have used this brand for decades and will continue doing so. Not much else to say as the quality of this product speaks for itself.

Awesome running shoes. These are my third pair within one year. I have a higher arch and these shoes give me the support and comfort I need. I usually run an average of 25 to 30 miles per week...I've tried more costly brands, but these are a winner for me by far!

This shoe is my daily driver. I work for Verizon and this matches out new dress code. The comfort level is off the chart and they are a very durable shoe. I am completely satisfied with the Beasts.

This shoe is truly "Beast." My son wears custom orthotics for extremely flat feet that are also wide width. These shoes are constructed so well that he doesn't need to add his orthotics. Phenomenal shoe!

If you overpronate, there isn't a more solid shoe than the Beast. I've tried and tried to find an alternative, simply to mix things up, but there is nothing that touches the Beast. I'm happy they came out in a color pattern like this that isn't so "blah".

Great shoe. I'm 6'5, 260. They really save my knees and hips. Only CON I have is that they seem very slippery on wet surfaces. Like various brands of shoes they size different. I normally wear between a 12 or 12.5 in most brands but went with the 13 in these and they fit great. I have regular width feet and the fit is great too. I don't know if they make a wide with but would order it if you have wide feet.

I usually wear a 10D in New Balance. I tried them on locally and found 10½EE is what I needed. I got them on sale for a good price. These are great shoes. Much support for the bigger guy and flat feet.

Enjoyed this shoe for walking so much I have continued to look for them and lucky to find it here. I also use my arch support in place of support in shoe for additional help.

These are great shoes with even better service from Zappos. After exactly 29 days in these shoes (Brooks Beast '12), I noticed a squeak developing in one shoe, when I stepped in it. I told Zappos, and they quick shipped out a free replacement. Overall, I have had now two generations of this Brooks Beast shoe, and it has helped me deal with plantar fascitis, even to the point where I have dropped over 70 pounds in the last six months. I now spend over three hours a week on the elliptical, when I could hardly walk around the office without much heel pain six months ago. I would only like for these to cost less.

Great walking and running shoe for those with over pronation. Would be better if it was available in black so it would be more suitable for a business environment.

I have worn top of the line New Balance (2040) for atleast 10 years. In my last two pair, the foam disintegrated between the sole and the shoe. Very discouraging for the price I paid. I ordered the Beast a half size larger in the 2E and found them to fit and be comfortable. Price seems to be of good value so far. After 1 month I will likely order another pair.
