Photos are misleading. Please watch video to see what boots really look like. The shaft is actually ruched, it is not flat/straight. Really wanted to love these boots, but that ruching is awful. Does run a little small/narrow. Size 8 perfectly fits my size 7.5 feet

Love the boot and the look. My normal size is a 9, but based on other reviews, I ordered a 10. They were a good full size too big. These are coming back and I'll be exchanging them for the 9. Can't wait to wear them!

These boots are made out of stiffer leather throughout. I felt they are true to size. I actually can slide in and out without using the sipper. The shaft is very roomy. They are rugged looking. I am debating on sending them back because of the stiffness. I don't feel they will soften up with use. Love the style and wish they had a suede option that may have been a littler more slouchy with added softness.

I purchased the tan. These boots are great! Great character, color and style. The smell of the leather is worth the price alone. Low heel means easy to wear, but yet adds a bit of height. I usually wear a 6, but purchased the size 7. They fit nicely with my more comfortable thicker socks. I love the rope addition!

Stunning boots. Very cool but the color was not what I expected from the picture. They are not a light tan / taupe color. I would call them grey. The fit in this style boot from Freebird did run smaller than the other Freebird boots I tried.

This boot is SO cute but when they say distressed didn't know that meant looks like it's been worn for 3 years first and badly at that! Gouges in leather, scratches, and just a little too worn in for my taste! This boot runs about 1/2 size small and is true to width because I ordered the 10 first and the 11 fit perfectly. I'm a true 10 1/2.

I have had these for almost 4 years and they are still my favorite pair of boots. I had to have them re-soled but only because I wear them nearly every day.

I love these boots. I adore them! And I was so happy to get them on sale since I had obsessed over them in the rust color for the last 6 months. Anyway, when I saw they were on sale, I said, what the hey and ordered them to try on since you can't go wrong with Zappos' free returns. I love them. The way they look, the way they feel, just wonderful. I am a typical size 8, sometimes I can go to an 8-1/2. These fit perfectly. The only teensy issue is that sliding into the boot it really pulls the sock tight across the toes. They seem to be comfy with out socks also. I think with some breaking in they will become easier to manage.

These boots are amazing! I love Freebird boots. Every pair is very unique in its own way...no pair is the same. They fit true to size, and are the lightest, most comfortable boots ever! I wear Frye boots too and I think these are way more comfortable. This boot is very flattering to any leg size...they are not snug and dip in the back...so cute. You won't be disappointed!

I now own 3 pair of this boot in black, tan, and red. They are comfortable, and oh so "cool"! As you can see I love them. As usual Zappos great service sent them quickly.

These are not only super stylish and eye-catching but they are the most comfortable pair of boots ever! They are a cool combination of cowboy boots meets biker boots, two of my favorite styles! I wear a size 8.5 so bought the rust color in size 9 which fit perfect and the color is gorgeous!

I always wear a size 9 and went ahead and ordered the size 9 since I have a narrow foot. They fit perfect. I think if you have wider feet you would want to size up, but these fit me true to size. I ordered the wine color, love the details and broken-in rugged look. They do have a little bit of slouching, but the leather is thick and stiff enough that they don't need pulled up, they stay in place. Perfect boot for all seasons! Love them!

love the look of the boot. I can wear between a 6 1/2 - 7. They only run in whole sizes - 6 was way to small 7 is a little big. A little bit stiff but that doesn't brother me. The boot is a heavy boot if wearing it all day. Overall I love the boot - made very well. I have them in black and dark tan/brown. Love the distressed look.

I'm absolutely obsessed with these boots, and the leather and they style and everything. However, I am always a 7, and even a 6.5 in tennis shoes and some other types of shoes. I ordered a 7 and they did not fit at all. I'm worried an 8 might even be too tight. Order a whole size up!

Got these for Christmas and it's been love every since. I get constant compliments on them and I'm so glad I got them!

My boyfriend just got me these and from the second I put them on I knew he was the one. These are indeed narrow and snug across the top of the foot while still being roomy enough for comfy boot socks (I wear smartwool hiking socks with all my boots). I am normally an 8.5 and sized up to the 9. The 8 would definitely have been too small to wear with good socks. Also worth noting that these boots are fully lined with incredibly soft leather and as that breaks in it helps the boots stick to your feet. I think these are made for thicker calves, they crease but don't slouch down on me, and the cut is very flattering up the back. I've been a die-hard Frye girl for quality and these freebirds are opening my mind to a new world.

Awesome! Just received so haven't worn, but a beautiful boot. Shaft is softer leather than I anticipated. Boot itself is a little stiff, but will obviously be more comfortable over time. Love the buckles and even the rope - which I wasn't expecting to like. I wear a solid size 8 in Fryes and I ordered a 9 in these, glad I did. Super pumped to wear these gems.

True to size. I followed some advice and ordered a size up, but had to return for my normal size. I will say that the shoes are bit more narrow (which is where I think the sizing up is coming from). It a more snug fit then my other boots, but still very comfortable (I forget I am wearing them). I love these boots. So beautiful, great style. Worth the price.

I have been looking for alternative western boots besides than Fryes for my extensive boot collection. It was awesome to find these unique and well designed boots. They have a nice heavy leather sole, which I look for in higher end boot, and are leather lined. If you are are a half size person, like myself, go up half a size. I have continuously gotten a 9 in all of my Freebird boots, because they run narrow! Overall my Freebird boots always get the most compliments out of wardrobe, and I will continue to buy from this company.

I fell in love with these boots as soon as I saw them! The color is fantastic. I'm so tired of Black boots everywhere. They are a really soft brown with black hints. Would love to get them in red as well. I tried on these boots in a size 10 AND 9 in the store to compare. I have a true to size 9 1/2 shoe size, with a fairly skinny foot. I was swimming in the 10. It would be fine I'm sure if I was planning on wearing a boot sock of some sort with every wearing, but the associate also mentioned the leather would relax a bit and I didn't need them any bigger. So I went with the 9 and it is a bit snug, and wearing a boot sock might make it tighter, but at least I'm not slipping around in them and I prefer to wear them and allow the leather to loosen a bit.

These are the most comfortable boots that I have ever had! They are easy to put on and off. I went shopping all afternoon wearing these new boots that I just got and my feet and legs did not feel fatigue. I am so happy that they worked out so well. Although I must say that I ordered the black pair and they were not solid black but more grayish tie-dye-ish color. But I have no problem with the color difference, they were still cute and so comfortable!

This boot is perfect, amazing, stylish, I love it! Ordered a 1/2 size larger and the fit is perfect. Normal width, Calf is moderately wide. I have athletic legs and the fit is good with wiggle room. I get lots of compliments when I wear them. I will order more of this brand.

These are absolutely my favorite boots. I love them! I have larger calfs and these zipped and were still plenty roomy! I would without a doubt purchase another pair!

I absolutely love these boots! I own the tan and just ordered the black. They are a timeless style, and as other reviewers mentioned they are amazing with dresses, leggings, jeans. The distressing, multiple straps with hardware and a rope strap, add so much texture and interest. The cut of the boot at the bag is perfect for a wider calf. I find that they run very true to size - I'm always unsure whether to size up in boots but took a chance on my true size 9 and they are perfect. I have a wider foot, and they are really comfortable, even when brand new. The leather is thick and a little stiff, but the boots don't chafe. Highly recommended! And they keep tempting me with new colors!

I read the reviews that this boot runs big and bought 1 size up, but I could've gotten my true size. Love these boots otherwise!
