My first Timbuk2 suitcase... Why did I wait so long to purchase one. Lightweight with sturdy wheels.

I love this piece! Compact but stores alot. It glides so smooth across the floors. And drives with ease. I will for sure purchase the larger one for long trips if it goes on sale again!!! (Hint..hint..)

Timbuk2 has incredible customer service and everyone we dealt with was truly a pleasure to work with. We are delighted with our new bag and love the sleek design along with the super high quality materials. Every little detail has been considered. We wouldn't buy from any other company.

I am an older well seasoned traveller and have high demands for a piece of luggage, and this one met all of my expectations. Not to mention it is a great value. The clam shell style is brillant and allows for easy visibility and accessibility. My only wish is that it had 4 wheels, even though the 2 work wonderfully, the weight with the messenger slid over the handle makes it heavy to pull.

If it does not say Timbuk2 on the bag, you have the wrong bag. I have 3 timbuk2 bags and pretty sure I'm going to buy again. I love these bags

Great suitcase! My second from Timbuk2. First suitcase lasted 7 years, and after the handle broke they replaced the bag with a new one-no questions asked! Amazing bag, great warranty and fantastic customer service!!!

I was hesitant on the idea of the clamshell but surprisingly it makes packing 2x better. The easy access flap in the front is useful and overall capacity is awesome. I love the wheels and how quiet they are. The bag is all around stable and well built. The only thing I would improve is the small zipper pouch on the front of the bag. I like to use this for toiletries but it shares the same space as the main compartment so you have be sure you don't pack too full or you'll never fit anything in this pouch.
Also seems to fit overhead bins just fine. Never had a problem and I've taken this bag on both domestic and international flights.

These bags are so well designed and have excellent components (wheels, handle) they are far superior to all my other travel bags. Excellent value and locally designed!

the outside access panel is a brilliant idea. the the quiet rollerblade wheels really do make it easier to sneak up on people.

I have had the top of the line Atlantic over the past decade of averaging 40 weeks of national annual travel. The Atlantics held up after all these years but the exterior looked really well traveled so I began my search. My criteria for the ultimate luggage was that it had to be lightweight, durable, smooth wheels and functional. After much research of various brands, I decided on both a medium and large in the Polyester Canvas (as Polyester is generally stronger than Nylon). I am glad I got the Polyester as it stands out fairly easily on the luggage carousels with all the black luggage out there.
When I first looked at Timbuk2, I was a bit hesitant on the pull up handle tubes being on the exterior (seeing those baggage handlers throwing baggage likes it's garbage bags) but after looking it over, it was pretty stout. I am not a fan of spinner styles as I have seen several people over the past few years hobbling (or plain outright carrying it)through the airport to catch their plane. After looking at many spinners, plastic wheels cannot hold up with the amount of traveling I do. It doesn't matter if it has a 10 year warranty or even if it had a lifetime, the warranty doesn't do me any good if it fails and you have to get to your next gate in a different terminal. The wheels on these luggages were a very strong feature that I could not pass up. It is smooth and very stable (no wobbling effect on uneven surfaces) in the parking lots and extra smooth on a finished surface in the airports.
I was almost going to give these a 3 or 4 Star rating but I didn't feel it was fair to Timbuk2 as the bag is quality. A major drawback in my personal opinion is the clamshell design. It is not luggage rack or closet friendly in hotel rooms since you have to open it like a book to access both sides. Luckily, I've been able to manage as most rooms have a separate sofa or chair/ottoman where I can lay it out (just prefer it in the closet so it's out of sight and I'm not the type that puts anything on these hotel floors...that's a whole another story if you know what I mean). When traveling with a companion, it makes matters worse due to the limited space. I have tried keeping the mesh dividers unzipped and then unzipping the outer lid to access everything but it's very cumbersome since the luggage is deeper than typical. But based on my research of all the major brands out there, I'll stick with these Co-Pilots and deal with design. I have no doubt these will last till I just physically wear them out.

This is a great little bag, not only can I carry everything I need in it, but it fits nicely into the overhead compartment on all but the tiniest of airplanes.
As a solo traveler I can pack light, avoid baggage fees, and get in and out fo the airport quickly using this little guy.
There are only two downfalls to this bag that I can think of:
1. It looked black and gray with pacific blue trim online, came to find out it was dusk blue and not black. Would've looked better black or dark gray.
2. The skateboard wheels are really nice for rolling, but the convenience of a spinner is hard to beat. Would like to see skateboard wheels on the rear and some kind of spinner wheels as well.

The best part about this suitcase is how much it can squash in between the flexible zippers and compartments. Its exterior can accommodate a heavier load yet still fit into an overhead carryon compartment. The separated compartments keep it organized, while the exterior zippers allow you to access the interior easily. While not the most sexy piece of luggage, its durability and tactical build have made it an excellent purchase.

I got this as an xmas gift for myself and used it on a trip to the in-laws. It was much easier to wheel around the airport compared to my previous luggage. Having a net zipper around the two halves make organizing clothes a snap.
I would highly recommend this to anyone unhappy with their current carry on.

I really like the new design. I had the previous roll-aboard that only had a single compartment and a single-post handle. I appreciate the ability to separate the clothes into 2 sections. This version is lighter, and the dual-post handle is both stronger and more compatible with my Timbuk2 Commute messenger bag. The Commute doesn't swing around while I'm running to the next gate like it used to. This bag is actually a warranty replacement for my old roll-aboard since that bag broke. I love Timbuk2 products, but I love their Customer Service even more. They really took care of me, and that makes me loyal for life.

I needed a carry-on bag for visits with my family- it needed to be light but able to be fully packed without breaking or tearing . Timbuk2 always produces quality merchandise and this is no exception. I highly recommend it.

I am a sales person who covers the US west of Colorado. I am on the road at least 30+ times a year. Purchased this bag because I wanted a bag that would fit into the overhead of whatever plane I am on AND was lightweight. I own a commute messenger for 7 years and thought timbuk2 was a quality brand. I have not been disappointed. I have been able to pack as much as 5 days worth of clothes in this bag and still comfortably fit in an overhead. I fly southwest a lot and getting a roller into a 737-300 overhead is NOT the same as the 737-700. This bag fits regardless, wheels out without taking up much room. I recommend to anyone who has to travel for work. Timbuk2 warranty team has been very helpful with my 7 year old commute bag, I would expect nothing less if I had issues with my copilot (which I haven't).

This is the second of these suitcases I have purchased. I got one for myself for week-long business trips and purchased another one for my wife to use when she travels with me. The suitcase fits in the overhead bins in most domestic aircraft and I have gate checked it for the smaller regional aircraft. So far, it has held up really well on 6 trips.
I particularly like the top pocket that is great for holding the quart-size liquids bag that TSA allows on domestic flights. You can easily pull those out at the security checkpoints in the airport and be on your way.

So far I appreciate the quality and design for the most part. It is different than I am used to, and I find it slightly less convenient to store large objects. However it meets all of my current light travel needs perfectly.
Beware the terrible customer service.

I use this bag for both personal and business travel. The easy access to items makes it great for small spaces and hotel rooms. I also use this to carry my scuba gear on weekend trips. The compartments separate everything well. This is the perfect bag for a week+ trip, or weekend trip with a lot of gear.

I frequently travel to Asia (5-6 trips a year) plus several other trips a month and have run through several suitcases the past few years. After a series of bags blowing up, wheels snapping off, and handles disappearing, I decided on two things: one, to (try) and only function with carry-on and two, to get a bag rugged enough to withstand the punishing experiences my other bags clearly failed to live through. I have now carried this bag to China three times, multiple trips in the US and Europe and recently to China and the UAE. I had to put it through the baggage hold on this last journey but the bag survived and seemed no worse for wear. Impressive. I am a classic overpacker and stuff my bags to capacity. The clamshell design is a real advantage for the optimistic traveller such as myself that truly believes everything will fit just fine. With this bag it does and the zippers have held without any problem. The material is excellent and it does fit (the small) in domestic airplane overhead bins most of the time. My one suggestion is to make this bag with four spinner wheels so it can be pushed as well as pulled through the airports. (Though the spinner wheels never seem to hold up as well as these two-wheel models). I cannot say anything about the outer pocket because my bag is usually too full to use it but the idea of it is great. The straps everywhere on the bag are wonderful since it allows multiple means by which to grab it from the overhead or as the bag tries to blow past you on the luggage conveyor. And the price of the bag is excellent; I have paid much more for suitcases that simply died on the way to wherever I was heading (forcing me once to buy a new case in an airport when the bag arrived smashed to bits. Shudder) So far this gets my vote as best suitcase I have had in years.

I used my lifetime guarantee to replace an older Timbuk2 model which was mangled by air travel. Since replacement parts weren't available, this model was closest thing to it with an additional $30.
It was worth it.
Just dragged it for 16 days around Japan's public a transportation network, up and down stairs, in domestic and international overhead luggage compartments. It was fully loaded.
It performed like Timbuk2 promised.
It also does not look like every other roll in ... A big plus!
