Got these for my husband for hunting! He LOVES them. Literally raved about them after his first hunting trip. Said they fit great and were super comfortable.

Comfortable and nice looking, but sizing runs big. I normally wear an 11 in skate shoes/sneakers, DC, Globe, DVS, Osiris, Adidas and miscellaneous work boots. In these I wear a 10 wide. Once I found my right size (always easy exchanges with Zappos) they are very comfortable. I haven't worn them long enough to brake them in yet but they don't feel very stiff. Should be a good hunting boot. Hopefully they hold up better than some have mentioned, I'm a little worried about that...

The first time I put these on I hiked over 5 miles in rugged terrain during a hunt. I couldn't have asked for a more comfortable and forgiving boot. No blisters, calluses, or pressure sores. My feet felt great after. I have pretty standard feet and ordered both the D and EE. The D runs pretty narrow. The EE was perfect.

These boots were awesome in every respect but one. They were almost impossible to get on. Once on they were very good but very hard to slide into. Now I will point out I am diabetic and my feet and ankles swell so it is not necessarily the boots fault. The problem lies with the waterproof booty design doesn't allow the tongue to open wide enough to allow an easier foot entrance. Had to grudgingly send them back.

I am very happy with these boots. The size was spot on, however the width felt a little snug. They were stiff when I first received them however after a day and half of wearing them they are breaking in and have gotten very comfortable. Overall the boots are excellent and if you are looking for a light weight non insulated boot these are tough to beat.

Best boots I've ever had. Light weight and comfortable. First day I wore them hiking 5 miles with no break in and they were fine.

These boots were everything advertised, and more. I dreaded the prospect of breaking-in a new pair of boots. But the first time I put them on and went for a long walk in the woods they were comfortable, lightweight and quiet. No blisters, no sore feet, no problems. If I ever wear them out, I'll get another pair!

Never worn Irish Setter boots before, but read some industry reviews and decided to give them a try. Very impressed. Fit well, which is frequently hard in that I wear 13 EE. No break-in needed. Aggressive lug sole but is comfortable on hard surfaces. Did I say waterproof? Usually don't worry about that in West Texas, but this year has been kinda wet. So...fits well, comfortable, looks good. What else could you want. Oh yes, price point is impressive. Good hunting.

Even though I got a wide, it was a little tight across the front (ball area). Otherwise, I wore them in 20 degree weather and three inches of snow and was warm enough.

Very well made boots. Only thing I didn't like is the rounded heel back. They fit a bit snug. I recommend you size up 1/2 size.

These were bought for my husband for hunting and work. He loves them. He says they are as comfortable as a pair of tennis shoes but perform like a boot!

I've owned a lot of boots, both casual and hiking, in my life. Many of them have been of very high quality construction, and many have been very comfortable. I tend to cycle through boots every year or two (I'm 45 years old). These are hands down the best boots I've ever owned. I bought them specifically for spring turkey hunting (I'm new to the sport), but the season is still about a month off and I can't get these off my feet. They are super-comfortable, lightweight, and extremely rugged. Build quality is about as good as I've ever seen in footwear. I've worn them daily, as well as on some light hikes. This coming weekend I'll be putting some serious backwoods mileage on them, and I'm certain they will perform very well. I couldn't be happier with these boots, and am considering buying a second backup pair, on the off chance that they discontinue them. HIGHLY recommended.

I think they run maybe a half size small. I'm a 8.5 unless the shoes run small, then I'm a 9 and this was the case with these boots. Light weight with great ankle support. Easy to lace up and take off too. Although I never felt it while on the hunt, these boots gave me blisters on the outside of my big toes.

My only complaint is that the insoles are hard, and to get any standing comfort, I needed to replace them. The boot itself is well made, but the foot comfort is poor at best.

If you zoom-in on the sole at the heel; you will see a circular, empty space at the center of the heel. Your heel is supported by the rim around this void. My heel presses down into the void and the rim presses into my heel uncomfortably. This absence of full support for the heel was a deal-breaker for me. A heel should be fully supported and all the way back; no voids; no slants. Otherwise; the sole was very flexible along its entire length, which I like. The width in the toe-box was okay. I wear men's size-12; 2E-wide. I would prefer wider, but it was wide enough.
I'd also recommend:
Danner, "High Ground": No voids in the heel; very little slant; can be filled with "Freesole" repair

These boots are super comfortable ans have great support all around. The only thing that concerns me is that the bottom treads are wearing out already. I have only done 3 hikes, all of good distance, but none the less the treads are wearing greatly. Besides that the boots are great. I will be eyeing up a new pair in the next few months as I hike a lot. And I will most likely be buying another different pair of Irish Setters.

really haven't had them long enough to write a review. The real test will be if they really are water proof. Irish Setter no longer makes boots in the states, so it's a bit of a gamble when it comes to the water proof liner. China made Irish Setters seem to run a half size small too. The boots are ok comfort wise, although they are not broken in yet. The lacing really could have been done better. The only speed laces are at the very top. We will see. Give me a few months and I'll let you know.

I wear them for hunting, work outside, every day wear, hiking, I wear them every chance I get. I love the look, the feel, and the style. My favorite pair of boots ever. Might pick up a spare pair just in case they stop making them at some point. Absolutely awesome boots.

I bought these boots less than 6 months ago and have only worn them a few times. While they are comfortable to wear and walk in they are definitely flawed. They are definitely not waterproof in the slightest bit. My feet get soaked anytime Im walking in wet or damp grass even. I try to avoid any kind of standing water because then I wont stand a chance of having dry feet and will definitely go home with blisters. Given the price of these boots and my experience in the past with Irish setter boots to say I am disappointed in the lack of quality here is an absolute understatement. Also, the tread is starting to peel away. For $200 i really expected to get more than 6 months out of these. I have a pair of leather upland boots that i love and are still waterproof to this day and I have had them for 7-8 years. I only got new ones because the soles of the upland boots are worn slick and I cant safely wear them anymore or Ill risk a big slip. I really expected better quality than this. Im sure Im just out of luck but maybe Irish Setter will make it right. Ive been a loyal customer for decades, but if this is what is to be expected now I will be forced to take my business and followers elsewhere.

My review is based on the short time I got to try on these boots. They are nice boots but extremely narrow. I've never had to buy wide sized boots but I definitely would have to with these boots. They also seemed a size smaller than indicated. Of course, the larger size and width are unavailable so I won't be able to try these boots long term.

I purchased these boots for an early season elk hunt in Utah. The boots were comfortable right out of the box and break in was minimal. The boots breathe well and the soles were aggressive enough to get me into and out of the back country. I wore these boots everyday for two weeks and at the end, they were worn out. The soles were very worn and the waterproof membrane began to leak. If your looking for a boot to last this is not the boot for you. If your looking for a light weight boot for occasional use, and don't mind the price, I recommend this boot without reservation.

These boots are light and flexible. Comfortable out of the box. BUT, in less than six months they are no longer waterproof. They're allegedly Gore-Tex lined, but, they have started leaking. I can't recommend them for anyone who hopes to wear them in wet conditions after 6 months of use.
