I bought these as winter boots, which means, in NYC, that I have been wearing them pretty much every day for the past 10 weeks. They're great. While they have definitely gotten more comfortable with use, they were fine from the first time I put them on. They're light and stay warm and completely dry. They lace up quickly, and there is enough give in the lacing system to adjust to thick socks, thin socks, insoles, etc. It's like your feet are encased in warm, fluffy clouds.

These fit perfectly if I use a regular hiking sock with them. With a thicker heavy duty boot sock they are too tight and so these are my warmer weather boots. For snow I wear a different pair that provides more room for a thicker sock.
These provide the best support of a "short shank" boot of any I have bought and so they are great for off the trail use or on very rocky trails where ankle support is important. Arch support is good but not as good as the Solomon boots, though my Solomon boots have failed to be waterproof so I now avoid that brand entirely. I added Powerstep inserts which do improve the arch support considerably.
After a year of nearly daily use on rough terrain they still are comfortable and fit well and are still completely waterproof.

Only complaint is sizing. I usually wear 11.5 shoes and have not had an issue with length or width when I go into a shoe store. The usual 11.5 to 12 is good off the shelf. As per the reviews from others on Zappos, it sounded like it was a "true" size. For me this was not true. I ordered an 11.5 and that was close, but not quite right. So, I exchanged the boots for a 12. One foot was good, but the other was tight. I was about to give up as 12.5 was not available. However, size 13 was. I received the size 13 and cannot be happier! This boot reminds me of the most comfortable basketball shoes I wore in High School! I am contemplating wearing these boots on a regular basis for work as they are so comfortable and stylish! If you are like me, without wide feet, please size up - at least a half size to start! Thanks to Zappos for helping me out with the free multiple shippings!

Fit just as they were supposed to.
One piece leather with only one seam makes for a better boot. Very good quality.

These are a solid pair of boots. Good for everyday use in the city and for day hikes over varied terrain. But they are not designed for extended use in rugged territory, especially with a hefty backpack in tow. That sort of use requires a sturdier, heavier boot. The Scarpa Terra GTX is high quality, but don't expect more than what they're designed to handle.

Bought my pair from Zappos over 5 years ago… the most comfortable I have ever had and I love the style. I don’t just hike in these boots, I LIVE in them. Now needing to be resoled but because of the construction of the boots they need to be totally rebottomed, not just the sole, which makes it cost prohibitive. I wish I could just get a new Vibran sole & keep my good old boots.

Loved the the boots till I had major issues with the tread coming away. The glue failed 11 month of wearing them, no problem getting a claim to what I though would be a replacment. But no paddy pallin sent them to be repaired. Im still waiting 14 weeks.
It seems repair is the best option. I Dont think it is.
The Customer seems to be least of their concern.
4 week turn around no problem.
4 months not what i call service

These boots are narrower than most and so I wear light to medium weight socks with them. I added Pinacle inserts which I end up doing with everything except the Solomon boots. These are great walking and trail hiking boots that provide very good support overall. The sides have a top section that flexes a great deal and that makes them more comfortable for walking but detracts from the support they provide for off trail hiking or backpacking with them. On steep terrain they force me to work a lot harder just to stay in place and so I go with my Solomon boots for such areas. No one boot does it all. For general use I put on the Scarpa boots as they are very comfortable and have shown themselves to be completely waterproof even after a couple of years of hard use.

This is my second pair. First ones lasted two years with no separation or tears. Finally wore a hole through the sole. I am hard on boots. Walking and working in all weather conditions. No boot has made a year with me under my normal use. These puppies fit me right out of the box and take the abuse.

I bought a men's Terra boot in a Euro size, and it only took 2 tries to get the size right! My ratings on the size and width are forced on me. I have no idea if the size is right! The boot is classically handsome and comfortable. No flash that will go out of style. Padding in the sides. Only one walk so far, but impressed. Held my feet in place so toes didn't jam while walking downhill. They do scuff easily. Grommets and hooks work well, the lacing is very adjustable. They are intended for basic easy terrain.

Felt great - very comfortable. However, I ended up having to return them as they were not water resistant. One shoe allowed water in while walking at the seam between the sole and leather. This was disappointing given the price; they do not appear to be of the quality of my old Scarpa boots.

Fits nicely. Leather is of good quality, my only concern is how the soft leather on the tongue will hold up with repeated lacing and cinching.

I have another pair of this brand and love them so I thought I’d try these. Very comfortable so far but I think they will be more so as I break them in. I use them for day to day wear as well as some pretty intense hikes

If you have narrow feet like I have, finding boots in the right size can be very frustrating. Some shoes and boots come in narrow sizes, but not enough. I usually comb through the reviews searching for some other reviewer who reported a pair was too narrow.
I wanted a simple pair of plain hiking boots that I could wear on hikes ranging from easy to challenging, at the barn or out for walks in our local parks. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so waterproofing was a must. The Terra GTX has goretex so your feet will be dry.
I tried a lot of others before deciding on these. Other boots were either too boxy, tops loose, too wide, too heavy and clunky, too much of a “combat boot” look. These are just what I was looking for. I have climbing shoes from Scarpa, and I figured boots from the Italian brand would fit my narrow feet similarly.
They don’t need any break-in for me. They were comfortable right away. I wore them to a saddle club show and i was on my feet all day. I was surprised how comfortable they were the first day of wear.
They’re fairly plain looking, but that’s what I was looking for. They’ll look good with jeans, and the leather seems high quality.
These are not the cheapest pair, but not the priciest either. If you have narrow feet and need waterproof boots, try these out. I love Scarpas and I’m glad I picked these.

I’ve been wearing the boots for over a year now. Very happy with quality, full grain leather with vibram soles. The boots are very comfortable and great for winter/Fall. I normally wear an 11 and bought the 11, very to sizing. Great boot.

These are the 4 pair I have owned....Never disappointed.
These go in the closet until my current ones wear out...But still ticking...but soles are starting to wear after two years.

Comfortable and durable. This is the only boot In memory to survive a year with my abuse. After a long period of neglect and soles getting thin, I shined them up for the first time and would wear them almost anywhere.

Scarpas are my go to boot. They last a long time. Not too expensive considering its an all leather upper with breathable lining.

Have used the boots half dozen times, including a 9 mile day with 2600 feet of elevation. They have performed very well. Lacing is great from my point of view: tightens and loosens easily. Mud, water and down hill all went exceptionally well (might expect this the first couple of trips but with smooth leather exterior I am hopeful for years of wear and comfortable dry feet.

If you are looking for a solid light-weight hiker with classic European styling then this boot is perfect. The boot is light and has an almost sneaker-like comfort to it. It is supple and ready to go right out of the box, in fact I did a three hour hike my first day in the boots with no discomfort. I’m about to take these boots to Maui where I know the waterproof capabilities will come in handy. These boots are stiff enough for light backpacking, but not so stiff that you couldn’t wear them around town when the weather turns nasty. In fact, my style-savvy girlfriend complimented the boots’ looks and suggested I could wear them to work on snowy winter days.

I have a pair of old Scarpas that were sz 41 and too small, so I ordered up. Unfortunately, they were too big, returned then and could not reorder my replacement size. I have size 9.25 (womens) and my feet are on the narrow side. Gorgeous boots that might have been the last pair of backpacking boots that I ever purchased. Seem to run long, but in my experience, Scarpa also runs narrow, so if that fits your foot profile, these will be great backpacking boots. I purchased the Scarpa Mistral in 41 (my regular size) from another vendor and I don't want to take them off.
