Great shoes. To break them in I wore the shoes for 5 days, everywhere I could. Saturday arrived and I hiked two fourteeners in Colorado. No blisters, good support, and no slipping on rocks. I really like these shoes. I had another pair of Adidas hikers, they survived 20 14'ers. The older pair had speed laces which slipped a bit, I prefer the control of regular laces on these new shoes.

My husband is a landscape construction contractor and has been wearing these 8 hours a day 5 days a week for the last 7 months. They get wet, muddy, full of concrete, etc. and they are holding up beautifully. He RAVES about them and when/if they finally do wear out, I'll get him another pair.

Slight break in needed. He said he liked them and he didn't complain about lack of arch support or ask for new footbeds. He hates all shoes other than chacos. And everything I do manage to get requires an insole. He wears an 11.5 in most shoes but a 12 in some. He took a 12 in these. So there you go.

Fits well. Very light.

Very comfortable shoe. For me this runs 1/2 size bigger which was perfect. I read the same in other reviews of this shoe and was glad because they didn't have size 12.5 which I wear in this brand. The size 12 fits perfectly.

Great pair of shoes! Adidas fit my feet real well and their quality control and materials are superior. By the way, Zappos is awesome. The premier place to shop. Im with them forever!

I purchased these shoes solely on reviews that I had read. I am a mechanic on a race team, and needed shoes with good traction that would be comfortable walking seven miles a day, through every type of fluid found in an engine. I listened to everyone and ordered a half size smaller than usual. These shoes fit great and are very comfortable so far. The only issue with slippage has been in transmission fluid, but a quick wipe off and they have great traction again. I am very pleased with this purchase, and might order another pair for outside of the shop.

Really nice and comfortable shoe. Lighter than one would think by looking at the pictures but yet very stable. Great walking or hiking shoe, especially for the price.

I've had these shoes for a few months now and can say that they have fully met my expectations. Very comfortable and supportive as a general walking/commuting shoe. (I've found trail running shoes to be more comfortable than most even though I won't use them as such.) I liked the styling online and they don't disappoint in person. The fluorescent yellow feels contemporary without being overwhelming. They seem to fit in with most of the footwear I see other middle-aged parents wearing at the playground. One minor complaint: The shoes are fairly well ventilated, which makes them a bit chilly on cold days. Not sure if it's worth the premium to shell out for the Gore-Tex version, however.

They are really nice shoes. However, they are made a little big. Rating it 2 stars in comfort because I had to return them, due to size.

It is too bad that they do not make this shoe style in a double E width, it is a beautiful shoe. I bought this for my man in his size 9½D and they look great. They work well for hiking and he loves it.

Great for being on feet all day and walking on concrete. Very breathable. Maybe a run a tad larger than I would have wanted but after a few days of wear they feel great. Many compliments on the style as well.

True to size. Very comfortable, light a breathable. I will update on longevity.

Bought these for a recent hiking trip, I am usually an 8.5-9 so I got both, the 8.5 fit well even with thicker socks. Did two 9 mile hikes 2000-3000ft elevation gains each, the shoes felt good on the trail, with great traction on wet/dry rock. Didn't get any blisters, but I got to give some credit to the awesome Smartwool socks as well. The shoes are definitely not waterproof as my feet got slightly wet the first day when it was raining, but the second day in light mist was completely dry. Overall, pretty good purchase. I didn't even return the 9, my GFs dad tried them on and it fit him perfectly so we were twinning the whole trip lol.

I have been wearing the AX2 for several weeks- originally intended as a light hiking shoe, their comfort and stability has me in these on a daily basis. The are light yet have a stiff enough sole for moderate hikes. These are roomy: I went a half size down from my regular athletic shoe size, and still allows for plenty of room for thicker hiking socks. I highly recommend the AX2 for anyone looking for a light and super comfortable hiker.

The shoes fit fantastic. The brown color on the back was a little darker than in the picture, but I enjoyed them better. Only issue I have is new shoes always have the size silk screen on the inside of the shoe, that rubs off on my socks.

As I'm writing this in February 2015 in the midst of the epic midwest snowstorm, I can say that the Adidas outdoor ax2 is definitely a solid snowshoe! Just got them a couple weeks ago, so I haven't gotten to take them hiking yet, but they're doing great with traction on snow & ice. As with other Adidas, these are super comfortable for my wide feet. These are pretty unique, though, a real marriage of a midweight athletic shoe & a lightweight hiking/work boot. As light as they are, they still keep my feet perfectly warm while trudging around in 15-20 degree cold, while the aggressive tread has given me not so much as a hint of slippage in the ice & snow. Can't wait to take these off road in the spring, they're just awesome. Can't recommend them enough.

I love the Adidas brand and my expectations where high. I had to order one half size smaller than I normally do with Adidas shoes which was weird but once I got them they were just fantastic. I did a ton of hiking on sand, dirt, volcanoes and more with them and they were great. They keep your feet cool in the heat and did a really good job with traction. I would high recommend these shoes for any outdoor activity.

I think these are great shoes. They keep my feet dry, are super lightweight, stylish without being vulgar, they are good shoes for areas with snow and ice because of the great traction.

Great product. Sturdy and comfortable. Perfect for short hikes and city walking.

There doesn't seem to be any consensus among reviews as to whether these shoes run smaller or larger than stated. I personally found them to be a half size too big (normally wear 10.5 had to return them for 10). At first I though the fit was kind of awkward, but after a week or so of breaking in, they're quite comfortable. I used them on an overnight backpacking trip (only 5 miles, but it was strenuous uphill) while carrying a ~35lb pack. They worked just fine. The tread is great - you can walk up pretty much anything. They seem durable so far and look great!
