I have these boots in two colors. I have literally never worn them with getting compliments. They are fun, funky, attention getting, and comfortable. I'm 5'5" and the boots are tall, but not too tall to bend, squat, or anything else. I love Old Gringo boot, I have 5 pairs, but Mayra is my favorite style. If you're on the fence, go for it! You won't regret it...but Zappos totally awesome return policy is no risk anyway.

Love these!! I’m 5’4” about 140lbs and they are perfect! I tried them on in Las Vegas bc I thought they’d be too tall but they are PERFECT!! I hve 4 pair of Mayra now (and lots of other OG)!

Gorgeous, sexy boots! I love them, my husband loves them. The light blue stitching complements the bronze color very well. Stylish detail, without being overdone. These are classic. Elongates the leg and keeps it shapely -- no thick ankle look. The boot shaft is narrow. But the leather does stretch. The first time I tried them on I could not get my foot into the boot (high insteps). I tried again about an hour later, because I loved them so much and hoped they would work. The second time I could get my foot in -- that's how much it stretches or loosens. I have 15" muscular calves with thin ankles, but the shaft was too tight in size 8 to pull all the way up. I took them to a shoe repair place and they were able to stretch another inch without any problems. I am 5'4" and the top of the boot hits at the sides of my knee, but does not hit high at the back of my leg, so they are comfortable to sit without cutting in at all. The 4 star comfort rating is because the boot is a little loose and my heel lifts up, but nothing rubs -- no blisters. I may put an insole to add more lift at the heel and make it more snug. The heel height is very comfortable and the support is good.

These are beautiful boots but they did not fit my athletic calves very comfortably and I had trouble getting my foot through the shaft even though once it was in the actual foot part of the boot seemed large. I am also slightly bow-legged and because the calf was so tight the boot shaft bent slightly with my leg which was not an attractive fit. I had to return them. If you have athletic calves be prepared for these to not fit.

I have skinny feet and legs. It took a while to get them off.

I was actually quite disappointed when I received the boots. I loved the style and they sounded great - leather lined, etc. Though I got them on sale, they were pretty pricey, but would have been worth it if the quality was up to snuff. It wasn't. Just didn't have a quality feel at all. The stitching and finish was not nice - kind of crude. I couldn't justify the price so I sent them back.
