I'm usually wear a 32 most jeans and shorts, but for this suit I'd go with one size up. A size 34 fits me perfectly and couldn't be happier with comfort and style. It's so freeing to wear something other than wet sloppy shorts clinging to your thighs. It takes a little courage to slip off your shorts at the beach or pool, but once you do it's the best feeling ever. I don't care what others think, speedos make me happy! Guys, if you've ever wanted to wear one, go for it. Trust me, you will not regret it!

If you have never worn Speedos, ask yourself if it is because you' ae overly self-conscious about your body, or if your social conditioning makes you question whether real men wear bikini-cut swimwear. (They do - just about everywhere except the U.S.) If you have been neglecting your health to the point that you do not have the endurance to do laps, your waist size is as big or bigger than your chest, then maybe you should see your doctor and think about changing your diet and start moderate exercise before putting any style of swimsuit on. Otherwise, if you like them, if they feel great, then does it matter what anyone else thinks? I have these Speedos in black, blue, and white. They are the most comfortable swimsuits that I have ever worn - perfect for swimming laps, or just getting a tan. There are no air bubbles or excess fabric impeding freedom of movement when swimming or diving, they stretch, and just plain feel good. As other reviewers have noted, the likelihood that your significant other will think that they are sexy on you, plus appreciate your tan line when you take them off, is pretty much guaranteed. The colors do not fade, even when worn daily in chlorinated pools, and the pouch has plenty of room for those of us with larger endowments. I wish that I had started using Speedos years ago. They are highly recommended.

My husband really liked this suit. The material is really thick and stretchy too. Bright orange...should stand out on the beach so I don't lose him.

Great suit for pools, beaches, and tanning. I wear my Speedo all the time. It's a shame so many people look down on these types of suits, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying myself. The free feeling of not having sloppy wet shorts is amazing. Guys, try one...believe me...you will love it!! I'm hooked, so long boardies. So long fashion police. I'm happy!

Buy these a couple of inches larger in the waist than you normally buy your pants...they are certainly snug! And not in a stays in place sort of way...more like a "I didn't think I had back fat..." sort of way. That said, the double layer of fabric keeps things from becoming transparent and also helps to eliminate the need for parents to shield their children's eyes when you go out for a day on the beach. That said, they do look cute when I wear them! I just wish they weren't out of the size I should have ordered!

This is one of the best pairs of swim briefs that I have owned. It is very comfortable and the fabric is very good. It is ideal for beach, pool and tanning. As some guys wrote here, it is ideal for tan lines, and I totally agree. I wore them in Aruba and was a very comfortable experience but was laughed at in Siesta Key, Florida for wearing them walking back to my hotel. These briefs are awesome and highly recommended. If people want to be prudes, that there is their problem. Wear what makes you comfortable!

I purchased one of these to wear under my shorts during beach trips. My wife convinced me to slip the shorts off and just wear the speedo because I kept pulling up my shorts to tan my thighs. It took a few tries, but I eventually took the shorts off. All I can say is Wow, what a difference. The tan lines are awesome, the feel is awesome, no wet clingy shorts sticking to my legs. Yes, I know all about the taboo of wearing a speedo in the USA. Don't knock it until you try it is all I can say...it's so much better. People might look at you funny, but who cares?! My wife thinks I have the physique to wear one so I'm going to keep wearing it without shorts. Guys, if you have thought about trying one, do it! You won't regret it!

Stigmas are dumb and should be broken; if you're swimming laps for fitness, who cares? Once you get used to them, you'll never go back to baggy trunks that alternate between threatening to fall off while you're swimming and bunching up when you exit the water.

The Speedo Solar 1" Brief is awesome. Why didn't I buy it sooner?! Ideal for tanning. Other reviews were helpful in selecting the correct size: go up two sizes. In numerical sizes, I wear pant waist size 31" and in letter sizing, I wear Medium. The 34 fits perfectly. Gather up your courage and rock a Speedo brief.

I ordered these for my husband to wear under board shorts. He is very pleased with the fit. For reference, he wears size 34 underwear and ordered size 38 Speedos. We will see if he ever dares to take the board shorts off!

These run really small. Suggest you buy 2 sizes up.

Big decision for a 63 year old male. No one can see my pool unless they are looking over the block wall, so why not. They are extremely comfortable but are sized small. I returned the first pair that I purchased according to the size chart. I went two sizes larger and they fit perfect.

I purchased last year to wear under board shorts, like to keep my junk in place. Then I decided to wear to pool and beach. Fit is great, I'm in good shape and this style helps to enhance your physique. Have them in black and turquoise...headed for FL for vacation in a few weeks...hope to get other colors there.

Super cute, but super tight...if you have any fat around your waist that may make you uncomfortable, size up...you'll be glad and your ass will look better.

My girlfriend bought this for our senior spring break trip to Rio De Janeiro. It took some talking to get me to wear but I ended up really liking the comfort and ditched the wet and clingy baggy board shorts for the rest of the trip. I bought another pair and use these for lap swimming and the hot tub now. They are holding up well. I wear a 31' to 32" 32" size fit perfectly.

I found the fit too tight even though my size was correct. There is too much compression on my organs. I guess for competition you want a streamlined figure but this was too much.
