I got these, put them on and ran a 5k (all I had time for). A few days later ran a 10k (trail) and no problems whatsoever. I tend to need a wider toe box and these are great! Size was right on!

Excellent shoe! I was looking for a shoe to hike with. Normally I only wear boots. Read the reviews on these and decided to give it a try. Very happy and will purchase again! They are solid shoes. You can't bend them, so if you are looking for a solid shoe, you're good. Great tread. I live in Seattle and I broke them in up a muddy hill in the woods. They are not super heavy, but medium weight I'd say. lots of room above your foot if that makes sense. it's roomy. I'm a female and normally am a straight up 9.5 in mens. This is roomy. I think a 9 would be to small for me, but this is the roomiest 9.5 I've ever warn. Solid. I feel like I could definitely hike in them and walk long distances.

Was glad to be able to purchase my 801s. Have always felt these were one of the best all around shoes NB made. When they went out of production I tried several others and ended up buying several generations of the 993 but not really happy with them. Wanted EE width for a little more room but took a chance with the Ds. Bought a second pair so I'm set for a while now!

I wanted stability and the M801s provide it. I have rheumatoid arthritis and it's in my feet and I like the solid sure footing and cushioned support. These shoes really hold onto your feet and whatever you are walking or running on too, not that I do much running anymore with these knees, oy... Anyway, the look is definitely classic, too. Much like myself.

I love New Balance classic shoes. Also, these are fit for all terrain or trail running/walking. They feel true to size and have a nice classic design. No over-the-top colors that so many of today's shoes have, so they are fine with whatever clothing wearing at the time. Black color gray sole doesn't show dirt easily. Great buy and nice price. Zappos always comes through fast and easy.

Great that New Balance brought this shoe back. Bummer that they didn't bring it back with widths.

Return of the classic! These were my favorites 10 years ago. So glad NB brought them back! Great fit nice wide toe box. Thanks Zappos, you're the best!

I like these shoes with one exception -- the sole has narrow openings that pick up pieces of dry grass. It's something that I've never seen before. The action of walking causes these slots in the tread to open up and then close down on a piece of grass and carry it to wherever you are going. Later the grass drops off again (like when you go into your house).

Great looking shoes on my husband and they are dark on the toes and heals where it counts. He loves them. And if they hold up anywhere near his other New Balance shoes, I'll be burying him in them!

These are the best fitting, most comfortable sneakers that I have ever had! They are true to size with the perfect amount of support. I will get another pair just in case they quit making them.

Well, I was pretty excited to see that NB brought back the early 800 trails series. The 803-807 are shoes I remember fondly and always felt were some of the best I've owned. However, getting these back on, I'm realizing that the shoes I've been wearing the last few years are much much more stable. I remember having lots of pronation issues in highschool/college and just assumed that my anatomy had changed, but with these back on, I am pronating pretty badly, like I'm a teenager again. I'm suddenly thinking that maybe it wasn't my feet, maybe it was the shoes I wore for years and years. So, I think I'll be going back to the MT610's I've been using for the last few years. I think it'll be better for my feet. These are comfortable enough, and are well cushioned, but it's not worth the pronation.

The tabs on the back of the shoe are hard plastic and rub against my ankles if I wear short socks, giving me blisters. Bad design. I would not buy again.

Hear ye! Hear ye! My fellow Zapponians! This plebeian proclamation review is for the: New Balance classic all terrain trail 801bb in a D width. I was really attracted to the classic military colors with the proven Abzorb cushioning; chosen for this fine classic old school shoe. Sadly, I have no choice but to return them to Zappos.com. My reason for the return is: the New Balance 801bb all terrain trail shoe is only currently available in d size width (major bummer)! Despite the fact; that people have different size feet; we all need to have freedom to spread our toes to keep our balance when running or walking. The New Balance 801 lacks room in the toe box to allow for my "toes freedom to spread" for my positive foot comfort stomping balance pleasure. When I run, I want that feeling of freedom without painful toes distractions. It is deeply unfortunate that I was unable to 'test drive' these New Balance 801bb for a better critique. I may have to use my new Merrell Chameleon 4 & Merrell Prime; recently purchased from Zappos.com to rip the trails!
