To edit my comment below (Zappos doesn't allow editing) I wear 8.5 and bought the size 39 - that's the correct size for an 8.5 (not 38.5) It's a perfect 39/8.5!

I really like this gladiator style shoe. I bought a pair for a friend and she loved them too.

I usually wear a size 8. It could be due to my feet being a little wide so a 7.5 wide may be my true size. I ordered the 8.5 due to reviews of this sandal running small. They felt a little small so I got a size 9. My heel is perfect .. maybe a little long at the toe but no one would notice but me. I love the sandal in the rose metallic I have.

Super cute in person, but I felt it ran pretty narrow (and I don't have huge feet or anything, I'm normal). Usually wear a 9, got a 9, then a 9.5, but alas, still didn't work.

These sandals are lovely and elegant. The leather straps felt comfortable on my foot, and the buckles were easy to use. I did return these because they run slightly short, and the thong section dug into my toe as a result.

I love Joie sandals! I bought these to replace a pair of Joie gladiator sandals I had for 5 years before the hardware on the sides started to turn and leave black marks around my feet. I thought these Positanos might be too shiny and "glam" for everyday summer use but these sandals are beautiful in person and have more of a gold and rose-gold tone than depicted. I have wide feet and always order the 37.5 (US size 7.5), even though I normally wear a size 7 in other footwear. The 37.5 sandals ALWAYS fit my wide 7 feet perfectly, leaving no awkward bit of feet sticking out on the sides off the footbed, which always happens with narrower makes like Sam Edelman, Stuart Weitzman, etc. If you have normal feet, these would likely fit true to size. Break-in time is minimal and the leather stretches comfortably pretty quickly. So happy with my new go-to warm weather sandals!

Gorgeous sandal! Love that these can be dressed up or down. They do not have the most comfortable footbed because it is quite flat with no arch support but I don't wear them for walking great distances anyway.

WOW. This is a beautiful sandal. I'm super picky about shoes and could not be more happy with these. It's more elegant proportions than most mass-produced American sandals - I wear a size 8.5 and am normal-width across the widest part of my foot, but then the rest of my foot is slender, and these fit *perfectly*. Usually straps that go over the top of my foot (like over the arch) are too big for me, but these fit like a dream. Like they were custom-made! I ordered the 8.5 and it is a perfect fit (and a perfect size 39 if you are accustomed to European sizing). They are squeaky right now because of the new leather, but should break in fine. I will seriously buy these in any color they make them - more please!

I haven't worn these yet, but they are exactly as pictured and will be a great addition to the summer wardrobe. I am a size 8 (sometimes 8.5) and the 9 is a close fit.

These sandals are absolutely gorgeous! I didn't want to pay so much for a flat sandal, but I I'll be wearing these every day this summer so it's a wise investment. The picture doesn't do them justice, do yourself a favor and order a pair to see for yourself! Will class up any outfit. I ordered a half size up from my usual size and should have probably gone up a full size, but I'm keeping the original pair because I couldn't wait an extra two days to receive the bigger size. :)

Gorgeous sandal. Always get compliments. Definitely get quality for the extra dough you spend. No chipping/peeling/fading in the gold colors like other sandals I've had. No break in period-the leather straps are super lux. If you're looking for padding or support, this may not be the sandal for you, but they can fancy up just about any summer outfit. Wore these nearly every day this summer.

Love this sandal. Definitely size either 1 or 1.5 sizes up. Not a ton of support (as pictured) - but really beautifully made. I like how you can dress this up or wear it casual - very versatile!

Love this sandal! Definitely does run on the smaller size. I fluctuate between a 10 & 11, and the 11 just fit. The two straps that run across the top of the foot make for a snug fit, which I like, as some sandals (like the t-strap ones) can be pretty loose/floppy at times. These are a summer staple!

I bought these 3 different times trying to find my size, normally an 8.5/9 I needed a 10 in the length but when the 10 arrived they were too wide. Great looking shoe, just order up for sizing

Beautiful sandals it would have been perfect for the dusty pink jumper that I planned to wear it with. However this sandal is not a correct 9.5. It is half size too small. There is adequate space in front for toes but my heel will be hanging over. Must return. Very unfortunate.

I normally wear 6.5 / 7 just depending on the brand, I needed a 7 in this sandal. The colors are gorgeous! Foot bed doesn't offer any cushion, but that doesn't bother me. Returning and will order a size up.

Very shiny and bright but liked the colors. Unfortunately, while TTS in length and width, it was slightly snug across the top bands. I didn't mind but worried it might be too tight if I wore for a long day. Returning.

I had my last joie sandals for 5 years and loved them, these were the perfect replacement. They do run small, so I sized up a 1/2 size. The leather stretches so I know with a little time they will turn a beautiful honey brown and feel like skin.

I loved the look of these shoes, unfortunately the straps were very narrow and I had a hard time even getting my feet in. I already have fairly narrow feet, but perhaps the height of my feet was to blame? I am sad to send them back.

Very cute but odd fit on these. I am a 5.5-6 in shoes, usually 5.5 in sandals. I ordered these in natural in a 5.5 and a pair in a size 6 in another color from another retailer. The 5.5 and 6 had a very small difference in length. Really the difference is very slight, I could wear either size. The main difference is that the strap on the 5.5 was not long enough to make it completely around my foot. I was surprised. It looped all the way around but the strap just wasn't quite long enough to buckle.

These sandals go with absolutely everything and they're perfect for summer. I'm normally a 6.5 -7 and I ordered the 7 and they fit perfectly. My only complaint is that the leather straps stretch out A LOT. I'm already on the last hole to buckle them and they're really loose. Other than that, they're really comfortable and took no time to break in!

These may work for someone else... The problem I had was that the top was too tight. I know real leather gives, but in the heat of the summer, there is nothing more uncomfortable than tight footwear. Had to return. They may be a good choice for someone whose foot shape is different than mine. I wish Zappos would carry Les Tropeziennes®...

These are very pretty and I ordered 2 sizes, a 39 and a 40. My foot measures 8.5 B but I can wear a 9 in some shoes. These were almost a full size too small. I could not get my foot into the 39 and barely into the 40 because of the band over the top was soooo tight. I have somewhat of a high arch but still. Flat feet people have at this one because it is pretty.

Very torn as I love the style of these shoes, however the quality for the price is sub par. Be sure to size up - I wear an 8.5 or a 9 and had to buy a 10. PROS: The natural color is perfection - it elongates the leg and goes with everything...shorts, casual dresses, denim. Love. CONS: Quality is subpar. The left sandal has annoyingly squeaked since I got the shoes (end of May) and now (early August) the entire sole has split at the front of the right shoe. What's worse, it happened during a work function and I had to "tape" the shoe with a band aid so I didn't face plant in front of my coworkers. For the price, that's pretty pathetic.

They're lucky they're cute. Seriously, they're so terribly uncomfortable. The bottoms are thin and hard and hurt when step on them. The straps stretched out after one day of wear and I had to tighten them up by one hole already. Next day they stretched out some more. For the price, I'm surprised at the quality. But the fit is perfect on me and they look adorable. I'm keeping them because I need a neutral sandal and these are the only ones I like the look and fit. But will need to keep looking for a more comfy pair.
