I absolutely love these! For the first minute these were not but stuff. Then the excellent quality leather uppers relaxed and I forgot I had on shoes! I only wish these versatile shoes came in more colors (like navy and tan).

Love the Royal blue shoe. I ordered a 1/2 size larger and they fit just right. The 6 was too snug. I am happy with my purchase. They are pricey but worth it.
I'd also recommend:

The most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. After reading the reviews saying they were narrow in the toe I decided to take my chances and I'm glad I did. They mold to your foot like a second skin. They are pretty narrow but not uncomfortably so.

I listened to the other reviews that said these were immediately comfortable & wore these out for a long day of walking as soon as I got them. Thankfully I wasn't lied to! :) These are super cute & very comfy. I bought the silver & it goes with most of my wardrobe-- lot of black & gray. :) I did wear blister band aids on the back of my feet though, because I'm prone to blisters on there no matter how broken in my shoes are. I also followed everyone's advice of a 1/2 size up, which I'd highly recommend doing! I'm normally a 7 & a 7.5 fit perfectly.

I have always had good luck with Fryes. Ordered the blue and loved them so much I ordered the green. Very comfortable, but could use some arch support. Wear a size 8 but ordered 8 1/2 and they are perfect.

These shoes were very well made and extremely comfortable from the first time I put them on. I have several pair of Frye's shoes and love them for the comfort also.

It is impossible for me to find flats that do not hurt my feet. I have two pairs of these and will be buying them in additional colors. Amazingly comfortable right out of the box and look fantastic.

Love, Love, Love! Though they initial felt shallow over my toes, like they smashed from the top, I trusted the other reviewers and wore them inside until they were perfectly stretched. I initially bought my regular size, and the next up, and the next up was obviously too big, which made my decision easy.

I have come to the conclusion for the last few years my shoe size is an 8 1/2 M. I believe this is due to overseas manufacturing. That being said, I first ordered the Frye Melanie Slip on in Black. They are simply the most comfortable, Luxurious soft leather flats I own. During the first wearing my right big toe felt as if a blister would occur. After a few more wearings, the shoes stretched a bit and all is well. I wear them all day but these are not for power walking. Virtually no arch support - the leather is so soft and the traction is excellent. I ordered them in Cognac too - the color is awesome. They are expensive but worth it.

I originally ordered an 8 in the Congac instead of an 8.5, which is the same size I wear in Frye boots, but I loved the look of this shoe so much I switched it out for the correct size immediately. This shoe is extremely comfortable and looks great with ankle length jeans - why would you ever cover them up - they are super cute shoe! Both men and women give me compliments anytime I wear them. I have had these shoes for a year now and the leather looks even better after wearing them in. Sadly I got stuck in the rain with them a few times which has caused the leather to discolor a bit (got darker in some spots), but it just gives them more character and they still look great.

Bought these babies to sight-see in Greece and myriad pre-departure errands. Looking for something that was fail-safe-cumfy, but also smart enough not to detract from stylish outfits. These will do nicely. With a narrowed-toe that distinguishing them from clunkier sneaks, I feared they might pinch, but with very, very little break in around the house and they are already cloud-soft on my feet. They run true-to-size, but don't have as wide a toe box as a traditional sneaker, so if you don't have narrow feet, consider going up a half size. I got the "grey" which has quite a bit of mauve-y to it. Quite attractive: neutral, but not boring and can be worn with dark leggings, jeans, or white pants. I can see them complimenting a sundress as well. Like all Frye products, the materials and construction are quality. The leather in the upper looks up to long use, the footbed is padded, and the sole grip-y. These are lightweight, compared to, say, running shoes. Great for restricted-weight luggage!

Beautiful leather shoes. Very sad they did not fit. A little too narrow for my wide foot.

I don't typically spend quite this much on a pair of shoes, but I took a chance on these, as at this point in my life, I'm willing to pay more for a well-made, comfortable shoe that will last. I wanted an attractive, casual shoe that would go with most of my wardrobe and be comfortable for walking/extended periods on my feet and ordered the cognac color. This shoe feels very quality made, is comfortable and the leather is beautifully antiqued. I love that this shoe has leather insole as synthetics always cause me problems. I'm typically a 6.5 in most shoes, and my feet are more on the narrow side. These shoes are definitely on the narrower side, and I did size up to a 7, based on other reviews. The shoe fits very well in the heel and does not slip off at all but the toe box is pointed and doesn't give quite enough room for my big toe to feel comfortable and I'm concerned the leather will not stretch out enough to accommodate that? So, I am going to try a 7.5 and keep my fingers crossed that this will alleviate the pressure on my toe and the heel will still fit snugly and not slip off my feet as I walk. The footbed is nicely padded (like a sneaker would be) but I may also add an arch support, for when I am walking long distances. These are my very first pair of Frye shoes, I've never had my shoes stretched before and I honestly don't know if stretching them would actually work, although the leather is wonderfully soft and supple.

I loved the Frye Melanie Slip On Shoe. However, the toe box too narrow and heel too wide for my foot. My other shoes are all 8½, including the other Frye shoes that I have. I have a narrow heel and use an insole insert to compensate, since very few shoes come in narrow these days. I could not do that with these because the toe was too narrow. Unfortunately, they have to go back.

These are AWESOME. I've always loved Frye boots, but this was my first venture into their flats. I tried my normal size and a half size up, and had to go with the larger size (could barely squeeze into my usual size). Maybe that's normal for their flats? In any event, they were comfortable right out of the box - and I pretty much never say that about shoes. They're on the casual side, but the leather makes them almost passable as an office shoe... Not surprisingly, this is another great quality shoe from Frye.

I bought two pairs this summer and wore the black a lot so just to be on the safe side I actually bought another pair in black. I hope they continue to carry this style since I am sure I will need to buy more in the future!

I love the color and style. Felt very snug at first, and still is snug but after one day of wear, it is already stretching to fit my foot really well. Super comfortable - dressed it up at night, but casual/sporty during the day. And then ordered an identical pair to have two!

I so love these shoes. No arch support so I add orthotics, but they are so comfortable with or without. I wear size 9 and the 9 fits great. This is my 2nd pair, 1st pair cognac, 2nd pair black.

I found these shoes to run true to size. Before purchasing these, I tried the Frye Melanie T-Strap and found those to run tight and narrow. I did not encounter the same issue with this shoe, the Frye Melanie standard slip on version. I ordered size 7 in both, as I typically take a size 7. I consider the width of my foot to be about average, although I have lower arches, which can add width to the foot, as I see it. With this shoe, they have felt snug, but not suffocating (which the T-strap did!). I expect that the leather will soften and stretch over time, yielding an even better fit. The leather is silky soft and looks and feels high quality to me. I like the Camel color, which is a warm and versatile hue that I believe works for spring, summer, and autumn and will not show dirt the same way some of the lighter shades would. (This review was written about the shoe being sold as of July 2015. In case there are any adjustments made to the shoe in the years to follow, perhaps the things I have stated in this review will not hold truth for a future version of this shoe.)

I purchased two pairs of these shoes, in black and tan. They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. I spent a week in New York in these shoes and my feet felt perfect. I just purchased another pair.

These shoes are great. I was looking for a comfortable pair of shoes that I could do a lot of walking in, but would look nicer than sneakers. These fit the bill. Comfortable right out of the box. Some reviews said they ran large, some said they ran small. I think they are true to size as compared to all other Frye shoes. I always wear an 8 in Frye and that is what I got in these. In some brands I can do 7.5, but for Frye always 8 so I guess if you're on the fence about sizing then go up by half. Got the crackled rose gold metallic and they are beautiful. For those of you who said your shoes had been worn - the black on the soles is meant to be there! Love them - totally worth what I spent on them.

Just got these in Coral, and they are beautiful! The leather is very soft with natural high and low tones of color. True to size, very comfortable walking shoes after just breaking them in one day. Smooth leather on the inside feels great. Cute with everything! Thinking about another color already!
