Unfortunately, just as another Merrell reviewer wrote, "I have found Merrells have gotten wider in the heels and narrower in the toe box over the years." I've tried these on with very thick socks and at least two different insoles. They are swimming in the heel and not enough height in the toebox. I will try a smaller size, but am likely to have to try a different brand.

I needed a shoe that would be easy on and would offer padding when walking on rocks and traction when walking on slick snow pack. This shoe provides everything I needed. I ordered a size 9 which is my normal size, but they felt tight across the foot, and my foot is not wide, it is average leaning to narrow. So I reordered a size 9 1/2 and my foot felt less cramped. I do wear them with a heavy sock. I wore these shoes and heavy snow came, which these are not designed for. However, my jeans were long and covered the tops of the shoes. I made many trips between my car and house in single digit weather and though my pants were wet, my feet were dry and warm. I wear these shoes to get from car to house multiple times in a day. When I am in a house for a length of time my feet sometimes get too warm, but for those trips out in the snow, they are perfect. I love Merrell shoes and these shoes really perform. If you are constantly in and out between warm and cold and don't want to pull on full boots, I highly recommend these shoes.

Really love these shoes. Very comfortable. I ordered a half size larger than I normally take,since most of the reviews suggested doing so. They are a half size too big for me. So need to return them. My advice is to order the size you are.

This shoe fits me like a glove! I own several pairs and this last one is the black waterproof. Comfortable from day one. It is the perfect shoe for me. I am a high school teacher and stand in my feet all day. These define comfort. Arch support is also excellent. I strongly recommend the Merrell Jungle Moc!

Great shoes!! Really high on the comfort side and totally liveable shoes for walking. I bought these right before a Vegas trip to walk the strip; NO break-in time and then started to use them at the gym for workouts just because they just slip on. Worth every penny! One thing though... They do run a tiny bit short, maybe a half-size, but overall, they are so comfy!!

I've been wearing Merrell Jungle Mocs for years - walked through many pairs. Used to be able to slip them on and off yet they held my feet well enough to traipse around camp and outside my house and at hotels and on and on. These are too small! They changed the size. I can get my feet in only if I use both hands, and then they're too tight. Slipping them on and off is one of their main strengths, so this is a big let down.

I am disappointed that Merrill appears to have changed the fit of their Jungle Mocs. I have loved and worn them for years. But now I can't seem to find a size that works for me. The 8 (my usual size) was too tight - very difficult to get on. The toe box especially has become much tighter/less roomy. And while this size fits correctly in terms of the arch support and the heel width, the rest of the shoe doesn't work. I then ordered the next size up, 8.5. Now the arch is in the wrong place and the heel slips. And the toe box is still on the tight side. As much as I had hoped to be able to wear these, esp. since these are waterproof, I am going to have to return both pair.

I have worn through several pairs of regular Jungle Mocs, and thought I'd try out the Waterproof version. I normally need a wide size, but have always been able to wear the 6.5 medium. I ordered 6.5 medium Waterproof, and it was way too small and tight. I exchanged that for a 7 medium Waterproof, but again I could barely get my foot into the shoe, and when I did it felt very uncomfortable. I think the additional waterproof layer really changes the fit of the shoe. I am now going back to exchange for the regular Jungle Moc in 6.5, hoping that still fits the same as always.

I wanted these to work out so much! I have several pairs of Merrells and have been happy with them. These were to replace a pair of Jungle Mocs I've had for a few years that had the tread wearing through. At first I ordered the size 8 but they were really tight. So I returned them and ordered the 8.5. The length is OK but the cut on my instep is nothing short of painful. I will be returning these. Very disappointing. I haven't seen anything else that might work as well for walking my dog in the Oregon rain. I thought previous reviewers might have been too picky. They weren't. Merrell made a big mistake with these.

I needed a shoe for work during the winter that would keep me dry when I'm outside in the grass or on the trails. I really don't like this shoe. The sole is clunky and tapers narrow from the foot to the ground which makes me feel unstable (most shoes get wider at the bottom for better stability). There is good traction but the lack of stability negates that quality for me. They are not an attractive shoe. The way the sole wraps up onto the side looks awkward. I should have returned them but I kept wearing them and ended up getting plantar fasciitis- I feel like the rigid and narrow aspect of this shoe contributed to that. I haven't worn them since and my feet are a lot better now.

Ugh - Buyer beware - I have been wearing Jungle Mocs (non-waterproof) for 10 years size 6.5 and they are the best shoes ever. I am traveling to a very rainy country so I thought I would just purchase these in 6.5 - same but waterproof - wrong - they were too small (by a fraction) and my toes butt the shoe tip and it is uncomfortable. Careful and buy 1/2 size larger than the regular jungle mocs -otherwise - it's a fabulous shoe.

The fit on these shoes just wasn’t right. As other reviewers found, the shoes are narrow in the toe box and wide in the heel. I guess I need the opposite. I did order a half size larger than my normal size, but this still didn’t work. They’re on their way back to the warehouse. My size is big enough that I can wear men’s sizes sometimes (they’re always wider) so I’m trying that next. Thank you Zappos for your great return policy and service!

Purchased 8.5 Med - and it felt more like 8 with toes pushed up against the front, but with the heel too wide (slippage) and toe box pinched. The bottom is quite stiff, which can offer support, but also cause awkward gait. I had to return them, because getting a 9 to give more toe space would not have helped the heel lifting problem.

These shoes HAVE been changed - as other reviews stated, the toe box is smaller - I've been wearing them hoping they would stretch a little - but they really hurt my feet -too late to send them back but buyer beware - and Merrill - Why fix what wasn't broken ???

Love these Moc's! This is my second pair and I wear them all the time. Love the fact that I can just slip them on...and they are waterproof. That means walking the dogs or hiking in wet conditions is not a problem. I did order a half size up for what I normally wear and they fit perfectly. Enjoy!

Like other reviewers have said, I found that these shoes ran 1/2 size small. I usually wear a 7 in all shoes, including Merrell, but in these, I needed a 7 1/2. Once I got the right size, they fit great and are really comfortable. It's great to have a pair of waterproof shoes that just slip on. I had the Jungle Mocs years ago, and those were harder to get on and off than these are. I like these better than the older model for that reason.

Shoe is fine but runs small for me. I have lots of 7.5 Merrells, but these are very small on me. Will try the next size.

Fabulous shoe! I had a pair of these years ago and loved them. Now 13 years later they are still being made and I bought a pair for a trip to iceland. Wow. Instant comfort, warm, great grip on the ground, easy on and off. I love them. Not stylish but so practical.

I love having waterproof shoes! They're great in the winter snow and slush, and around my apartment it floods outside in the warmer months, so I really have been thankful for the ability to just walk right through water without a care. I thought some combat boots would be cool, especially waterproof, but every one I tried on, 3 pairs so far, was so uncomfortable compared to this shoe that I had to return every one with disappointment. : /

I bought these shoes mostly to walk my dog, and I walk him two miles every day. They are now worn at the heel, but I wore them most of the winter, all of spring, and even a lot of the summer...sockless. They are just so much more comfortable than even my running shoes for walking, and I do climb some hills too, They slip on so easily, and feel great eith arch support and just the right height in the heel without feeling too flat. Yes, they run short, since I ordered and 8 1/2 and I am usually an 8. The 8 1/2 is not tight, so I can wear socks with them, but they are not falling off my feet either. I am very, very picky about my shoes and confort is the number one aspect for me when buying a walking shoe, especially. My feet feel great and no sore spots either. These shoes need no breaking in period either. My right foot has a little bit of a wider section than my left and this shoe feels great on both feet, so it is not too narrow or too wide in a medium width. I am now ordering my second pair. They are so worth it to me. I recommend them highly.

This is a great walking shoe. Bought it wear while I commute to work on the subway and for my mid-day walk. It works well with my work clothes and is very comfortable. I like that it is waterproof too- no more soggy socks on rainy days.

I seem to be in between sizes for the Jungle Moc now. Years ago I wore a 7 1/2, but now they are tight and the 8 is too loose. It is otherwise a great shoe for all occasions.

I needed a good pair of all-weather shoes to wear to work and also to walk the dog. These seemed perfect, and they do fit mostly comfortably. But the right shoe keeps rubbing my heel raw. I've tried moleskin, but it doesn't stick to the shoe given the lining. I've tried bandaids, but they rub off too. I've tried thicker socks, but still the same issue. I'm going to try stretching them out a bit but if that doesn't work I can't wear these. It makes me sad, because otherwise they're the perfect shoe.

This shoe is waterproof and comfortable. Unfortunately, the fabric at the toe area became undone after several months. Was able to re-attach with superglue! Could have been harsh weather conditions in the area that caused it.
