Oh, man. I really wanted to keep these sandals. They are really comfortable, especially around all the straps. I ordered an 11, which was the perfect length (I usually wear 10½/11). But with long but not bulky feet, I could not get them tight enough. The sandals are not built in a way that make them as adjustable as most other similar outdoorsy sandals. This is specific, but the strap that goes over your ankle pulls through a plastic joint piece in order to tighten it; once you pull it so far, a wider piece of foamy fabric, attached to the back of the strap itself, starts to get in the way and won't fit through that plastic joint, keeping it from getting any tighter. I might have gone ahead and tried to deal with a looser fit, but once you are at the tightest point, there is another issue. The portion of Velcro in use on the strap at that tightness is only about ¼". This is surely not a large enough area of Velcro to keep the sandals closing for months or years of wear. So, moral of the story - if you have long, but not bulky feet, buy these and try them since the shipping is free, because everything else about them is great, but know that there is a chance that they may not be tight enough and may need new Velcro at some point if you are wearing them at the tightest point.

I have to downgrade my rating for these shoes. I love them: they're comfortable and fit beautifully. However, they keep breaking. I bought my first pair in December 2013. The buckle broke (making the shoes useless) five months later. I thought it was a fluke. I bought my second pair in July 2014. Last week, the strap broke. I'd buy another pair, but now I know what to expect so I'll find a different shoe. It's too bad that this comfy sandal can't hold up.

I love this sandal for its support/feel/styling. I have very 'bad" feet and this is one sandal I can actually wear all day, walk around the lake, and not suffer from lack of foot support. The one fatal flaw however is that on my second pair, the same strap broke that broke on the first pair. It is the part that runs through a flat slot and the strap wears bare and breaks. My second pair broke after only 2 months. I think a sandal at this price should hold up much, much longer. Having said that I still want this sandal, just don't want it to break!

I really like these sandals. They have the arch that I wanted. I debated about the size as I wear a size 9 1/2 tennis shoe and it said to order the next half size larger as they don't come in half sizes. However, I opted to order a size 9 and was very glad I did as it is perfect. I had read reviews that the clasp was very hard to open. I would have to say it wasn't the easiest, but once you get the strap adjusted, you can keep the clasp closed and just loosen the strap to take them off and put them on. They are very comfortable to wear.

This is a very cute shoe and is very soft but I don't think it has enough support. I can wear it about 2-3 hours for walking, then my legs ache and feet hurt. I should have sent them back but did not discover this until after I had worn them for a couple of hours.

I loved these sandals until just past a year without any stress on the sandal the strap broke. Now that I'm reviewing the reviews it looks like a known problem. I would not recommend as I agree for the price they are comfortable, but I expected to enjoy them for years.

Very comfortable straps and footbed. Adjustable straps to allow for a looser or tighter fit. No rubbing.

Though I always wear the size I ordered, even in a Merrell sandal, this shoe was a full size too small. My toes hung off the end of the shoe. Also, the buckle closure is very hard to open, making it difficult to get the shoe on and off. Not as comfortable as other Merrell sandals I have purchased. I had to return these shoes.

My feet are narrow and it looked like these are Velcro adjustable - which they are - but only a little bit. Just not enough. I had to return them.

I travel the world on a regular basis. I also have back problems. I have several types of Merrell shoes and sandals. I love them all and this choice is no different. They fit well, are very comfortable, and take me where I want to go with no pain and lots of gain.

These are good walking sandals. My winter-weary feet needed break-in time with the straps in order to feel comfortable. It takes time to get the perfect adjustments, but it is worth the effort.

These are great shoes. I wear a 9 1/2 narrow and the 10 was perfect because the straps are so adjustable. They are great walking shoes and I think they're cute for a walking shoe.

Great water shoe! Bought for a light hiking and sailing trip and wore them daily for 2 weeks right out of the box. Super comfortable. Normally a 9 1/2 Wide and purchased the 10 - fit snug but comfortable. Good heel and arch support.

This shoe is adorable-cute style and great color (greenish-blue). I have a wide foot but it still fit me in a 7.5, my usual size. Has some arch support. Only use it for going out on occasions where I want to look nice but will not be doing a lot of walking. There is one spot that does rub, but it's not too bad unless I wear the shoe too long.

Love these sandals. If summer were longer in Chicago, I would have bought another pair. I had read a review that said it's hard to get the strap loose. I do not agree. You do not have to loosen the buckle, just give the strap a gentle pull and it loosens. Easy off. I usually wear 7.5 but 7 was perfect.

I love this shoe. I saw it in an outfitter's store and they did not have my size. The store manager suggested I go online. I wear a size 7.5 so ordered the size 8. The extra length made the shoe straps fasten at an odd place on my foot and an odd place on my foot. They were very comfortable when I first put them on, but after a few hours I had the imprint "rubbed" into my foot. I really wish that you had it in half sizes. They would have been perfect for kayaking.

This sandal is the only one I wore on our vacation. I walked over 20,000 steps a day and my feet were comfortable and supported. Zappos is the best because I had to try 3 pairs before I got the right one. Returns are so easy and service is incredibly fast!

These sandals are proof that you can hike and walk for miles and miles and still look good. They are sturdy, light and comfortable. And cute. You could wear them with a summer dress if you had an occasion where you had to walk a lot while wearing a summer dress and nobody would give you the side-eye. Farewell clunky athletic sandals!

I am going to keep this shoe. Having said that I must deplore Merrell's choice of closure. I can barely get them closed. When I take them off, I cannot release the closure but have to slip them off. I don't know what the ultimate affect will be. Why Merrell doesn't offer the most beloved style of Freesia I don't know. The engineers who figure out the adjustable features are not up to the task.

These are very comfortable sandals. I have a hard time finding shoes, especially sandals that look nice and fit my feet. These are attractive and I have received many compliments on them. They also fit well and are easy to walk distances in. Love the color.

These shoes are everything I expected, and then some! They are extremely comfortable and easy to wear from the day I put them on! I walk a lot, and these shoes are just perfect for long walks when it is hot outside!

At last, stylish, comfortable sandals in size 12! I purchased both light teal and black. They are comfortable and not only accommodate my high arch/instep, but lock foot into place so there are no issues with plantar fasciitis. I hope Merrell will offer more shoes/sandals in 12 in the future.

Bottom line for me is that these sandals are comfortable. I have very narrow, long, feet and have a doozey of a time trying to find shoes that fit since 99% of the sandals made are medium width. However, this sandal, even though it is medium width, has velcro straps that allow me to tighten the width as needed. I have found these sandals to be comfortable on flat surfaces as well as uneven hiking surfaces in the desert or mountains. I have received a lot of compliments on these sandals, particularly the color. It is a nice sea blue/green. Also, the style does not make my big, old, long feet look like surf boards!! Only con is that the insole is rubber or a form of plastic which tends to make feet sweat in hot weather.
