So i read a ton of reviews. None of which helped because it was either “they fit good” or they were horrible. Im here to help because these boots are badass and comfy as hell. I wear a 10.5 in most all shoes... 10.5 in Vans Authentic 10 in Vans Old Skool, 10.5 in Nike, 43/44 in Havianas, and 10/43 in most boots. I sized down from my normal shoe size 10.5 to a 10 based off of a few reviews that were somewhat helpful. Now i dont wear thick socks with boots because im in California and you just dont need em. I did try these on brand new with some Darn Tough brand full wool hiking socks and it wasnt bad tight. Maybe after breaking in they would be comfortable. Right out of the box i worked a full day. Lighter than most of my boots and was walking on clouds. As far as style they have a great profile and arent as bulky as some Moc Toe’s i have. Honestly these blow my Red Wings out of the water. Plan on using them with the motorcycle, Work, daily life and everything in between. A definite buy in my book. Get a pair and rage hard in em.

Simply put these are awesome right out of the box. Over thirty-five years in construction I've wore out a pile of boots. Many of them Red Wing 6" Moc Heritage Classics as up until now they were my go-to boot if I didn't need steel toes. Not any more. My new Thorogood 6" Soft Moc Toe boots are hands down a better boot. Like the Heritage Classic they are made in the USA by Union craftsman, but these Thorogoods are better designed, better built, considerably more comfortable out of the box and as if that wasn't enough...they're priced better than Red Wings too. It'll take a few months of use before I can give an honest appraisal of their durability. So far it's two thumbs up.

These boots were comfy from day one. The leather is very soft and supple. After 6 months though, the insoles flat out fell apart. I work as a project manager, so I'm on my feet most of the day walking around job sites, but I expected more out of a pair of work boots at this price point. I've had my Carolina boots for years, and have had no such problem.

These boots look great and are super well constructed. They are also the most uncomfortable pair of footwear that I've ever worn - I mean worse than cheap hockey skates. The stitching of the moccasin toe, the tongue, and the upper all converge precisely on the side of your big toe knuckle. After reading through many reviews I thought, "they should break in with a couple days of work and form to my foot". Sure, they formed to my foot, but after four full (10 hour) days of carpentering and one day of grouse hunting they feel as painful as when I first put them on. Unfortunately, it's too late to return them as I've been using them daily, so there goes $200 down the drain. Everything else about them is awesome(except the top eyelet, wtf is the plan with that?). I might try to sell them on eBay or maybe see if I can have a local boot guy fix them. In the meantime I'll be ordering the same boot in the non-mod-toe version, which I just discovered is a thing.

Zappos shipped boots that were worn and filthy. Insoles covered in cat/dog hair and mud on outersole. Shoes were placed in a non original box. Very disappointed not to mention paying full price on a shoe that is in this shape is sad.

I have to write this so others can read. This boot is the most comfortable shoe/boot I wear. I normally wear a casual dress shoe to work, but these feel so good all day everyday that I wear them with my office clothing as often as I can. Great boot. Worth every cent. Excellent leather

I think there is a lot of variability in size with this boot. It would be better to go to a brick and mortar to try on several pairs to make sure they fit. I typically wear a 10 Wide. Based on advice that these boots ran small, I ordered a 9.5. They were very close to fitting but too tight, they may have stretched over time to fit correctly. However, I sent them back and ordered size 10. These did not fit at all!!! They were very tight over the top of my foot in the first lace holes. It was like the boot was too short over the top of my foot. If I removed the liner, they were closer to fit but still too tight and I like the liner. I sent these back. I then ordered the SAME SIZE again. I ordered size 10 again. This pair of boots felt great, no tightness. Not sure what happened but I'm happy I stuck with it. I do like the boots.

Going on year 3 with these boots. They have held up well and still have great comfort. I stand on concrete all day and these are the only shoes/boots I have found that don’t cause foot pain. I ended up ordering a few sizes to get the right fit and what worked for me was a half size smaller than my Nike Air Max/Adidas Ultra Boost shoe size. I hope to get another year out of them and I’ll certainly be buying the same boots when the time comes for replacement.

I had previously tried these boots on in a work boot store and loved them! I began to save up as they're a bit pricey. I finally ordered them off Zappos because they were cheaper and when they arrived they were slightly different than the boots I tried on even though the model number is EXACTLY the same. The ones in the store had a soft fuzzy lining at the top of the toe area, the Zappos ones did not. The Zappos ones were also tighter around the sides of my foot-toe joints where the bulk of the seams met up. It's been a little painful but I'm hoping that goes away as I break the boots in more. Other than that the fit was perfect! Really happy with them and the price point.

I really like these boots. They are very comfortable and look great. I ordered both my regular size and a half size down and went with the half size down. My regular size felt like clown shoes, my heel slipped a lot and my foot had too much room in all directions. half size down fits great.

This is a great boot for general work because it is not too heavy and incredibly comfortable right out of the box. I bought this boot because it was made in the USA and had great reviews, and all of the positive things people had to say about them were accurate. I wear size 11 medium shoes, and this boot in size 11 was perfect in both length and width. I can wear it with either lightweight socks in summer or heavier socks in winter without any problems because the toe box is perfectly sized for a bit of toe movement. This may not be the best boot for a heavy construction worker who needs a steel toe for protection, but for a general carpenter or landscaper, this is a fine boot. I like the outer sole because it has some flexibility and the tread is not overly deep or aggressive - that means it doesn't grab a bunch of dirt and muck to track back into the house. If you are a steelworker or heavy-duty framer, look for a more iron-clad boot. But if you want a super-comfortable pair of general workbooks, these are great. And you will be supporting American workers, a good idea in these crazy times.

I am a contractor and I usually go through a lot of work boots every year but these boots are the first pair that have held up remarkably! They are super comfortable which is important to me. I have ordered three pairs to date and am 100% satisfied.

I have been wearing these boots regularly for three months. FWIW, I own and wear regularly boots from Timberline, Redwing, Allen Edmonds, and Lucchese. I have to say these are the most comfortable boots I own. Put them on and went to work. Never looked back. Quality is superb. Fit with a thick pair of boot socks tracks my shoe size. Just wonderful.

These were a bit tight in the RH toe box so I stretched them at home using a technique I read about on the Internet. The other thing that was annoying were the top eyelets; they made lacing difficult as others have stated. A trip to the local shoe shop where I had hooks installed for ten bucks solved the problem; now they're comfy and easy to wear. Great quality boots and made in America. Ain't that nice?

I really like these boots! As you surely know if you're reading this, these boots are American made by a company with tons of history. I find the quality to be top notch. I wear a size 12 and their size 12 fits perfectly. Sharp looking and very comfortable right out of the box.

I chose Thorogood over Red Wing for a few crucial reasons, and I have been exceptionally satisfied with my decision. First, Thorogood incorporates significantly more reinforced stitching. Compare pictures of the two boots, and this is immediately clear. Second, Thorogood also incorporates a Goodyear Storm Welt construction as opposed to a standard Goodyear Welt construction. Finally, while both boots are well made in America, Thorogood offers their boots at a significantly lower price. If you are going to be wearing these boots daily, it's a good idea to own two pairs and rotate them. With the Thorogood price point, it is much easier to do and in my opinion, you'll have a slightly better boot . . . to boot.

So far, the wearer (my husband) is very pleased. These boots were comfortable straight out of the box. The fact that the boots are made in the U.S. is a bonus. Love that in addition to the great service, Zappos carries lots of terrific home grown merch.

I've been wearing Thorogood Moc toe boots for over 15yrs. This is my first pair of 6in however, they are not quite as comfortable as the 8in but I can definitely manage. The Craftsmanship? is Union made so that is a huge quality I look for in a purchase. These are a out standing American made product. Thanks for making a quality boot!

First, what you've heard is true--this is a very well constructed boot for the price, imo. I bought both the 10 and 10.5 in EE. Normally wear a 10 in Vans for reference. Feet were swimming in the Thorogood 10.5 EE, but width felt right. The 10 EE was perfect length-wise, bit nowhere near wide enough. I could feel the skin on my feet doing that upside down taco fold. If you have an actual wide food, you may want to look at other brands. Shame. Thorogood, if you're reading this, please build an actual wide footbed. I want to buy your boots.

The stitching on the left boot where the mock toe and upper part meet was overlapped to far and felt like there was marbles on top of my foot.. no way I could where these, to bad I really liked the boot otherwise and the right boot felt great. Not what I expected for a $200+ boot.

I think mine are defective. I bought the Thorogood 6” Soft Moc Toe earlier this year, and I wore them literally a couple of times before injuring my knee (wearing different shoes). At the time, they felt good, if not a little stiff, and they looked great. But because of my injury, I didn’t wear my new boots again until two months ago. When I did, they mostly broke in fairly quickly. Then I started to notice that the right boot was causing a pain on the top of my foot, just aft of the big toe. I thought this was just lingering stiffness. But after several weeks, the pain is still there whenever I wear the boots. I then discovered, upon close inspection, that the seam work on the right boot, where the top moc seam meets the upper side seam, is unlike the left boot. This area has a bad seam overlap that created a sort of knot on the inside that presses down on the top of my foot, even if the boot is loosely tied. It starts to hurt after about an hour or so. This is unfortunate, because I can’t send them back now. Nobody else has had this problem, so mine must be defective. If not for this defect, I think the boots would be very comfortable; the soles and insole provide good support and cushioning, and they look super nice. The leather is very soft. Any suggestions?

Very pleased. I wear a EEE, so I had to go up a full size for the EE to fit comfortably in the toe box. Easy break-in so far.

This is my second or third pair of these and I love them. I own a small manufacturing business and I'm on a concrete floor most of the day. They're all-day comfortable and they look great. Being made in America is a huge plus too.
