I ordered 3 different styles of Vasque boots to try and settled on this one. Zappos.com has a fabulous return policy!! The initial fit seemed to be good and the features of the boot met my needs. However, after wearing them for a couple of months, I am forced to agree with several of the reviews that criticized the Vasque brand when the boots were manufactured in China. They do not have the same quality when they come from China. The toe guard piece is fitted into the shoe such that it causes abrasion on the inside of the boot over time, even after a lengthy break-in period. This condition was not initially noticeable after just a "shoe store walk down the isle". The shoe strings came apart (the core from the outer cover) rather quickly. And the gore-tex liner either was installed incorrectly or was a cheap substitute as my feet got wet just walking through wet grass for a couple of hours. I am thoroughly disappointed in these boots and feel that I paid a lot of money for a product that was manufactured poorly, even if the features of the boot were desirable. I will not purchase this boot again and all Vasque boots manufactured in China are now suspect in my mind. This was an expensive boot and I feel that I was ripped off.

I have had debilitating pain in my right foot with swelling for about 11 months. I have a narrow foot and could not find a boot that fit correctly. Upon finding these, I ordered and they are wonderful! I ordered 11 1/2 and they fit perfectly. I will order another pair but in a 12 because I needed to add an arch support and it pushes my foot forward some but overall, I love these boots. I am so grateful for finding them. Thank you.

So I don't buy anything without looking at reviews and comparing countless sources, and these boots don't have many reviews on other sites. After reading the no break in blah blah and a few good reviews I decided to buy them but was wary. When I got them they were extremely comfortable, I wore them around and thought I noticed some chaffing but after breaking them in (didn't really think there would be absolutely no break in time) I noticed nothing. My other shoes also broke sitting this time so they've been my wear around shoes and I have no complaints. Haven't taken them on and big hikes yet though and if your in warm weather/summer heat I wouldn't recommend them they stay real warm. I would recommend them.

I have had these boots for approximately two months, and have worn them almost everyday over that period, logging 35- 50 miles a week. Thoughts at this point: 1. Wear and Weather well 2. Quite comfortable Issues: 1. Top right hand eyelet of each boot ate through lace casing in ~6 weeks *side likely dependent on dominant hand 2. Toe cap, at outside, does not give/stretch like leather. Resulting in pressure applied to outside toe. *Remedied with thicker sock.

I absolutely love these boots! While they didn't come out of the box feeling broken, it was still close and only took 2 days before I didn't notice it. Just spent a week in Pittsburgh traipsing through the snow and never had a problem.

Bought a pair last summer, trekked the Grand Canyon. One lace eyelet/hook came out of the leather. Vasque cannot replace it, referring me to their approved cobbler in Washington. Shipping and repair would cost me over $50.00. My local cobbler would charge me lass than $4.00, if he had the exact style replacement eyelet/hook Vasque can't supply. This is my 6th and last pair of Vasque boots.

Only had them for a couple of weeks but do like the fit and the water proof. I have nothing at this time bad to say.

I have a narrow foot so I ordered a B width and these are perfect. Very short break in time and extremely comfortable. I have a number of pairs of high quality hiking boots and these tank right up there. Of course no boot comes with good insoles so I always put green super feet in my boots. Which made these a perfect medium stiffness boot.

Tremendous backpacking boot straight from the box!!! And after 100+ miles on trails, carrying my 35 pound pack for 10-15 miles per hike on my 59 year old feet, this 11 Narrow boot takes a beating, keeps me dry and warm footed, gives great support and protection, and is comfortable. Having read reviews about lace breakage, I've been very careful with them and so far not a single sign of fraying or weakness. I'm training for the Appalachian Trail, so purchased NickWax, am buying a Superfeet insert today, and carry backup laces. "Be prepared" always pays off, although I trust this boot. FYI, I wear Smartwool Trekking socks and liners in these. I'd buy a second pair for later, but these boots may last for years.

These shoes take a while to break in but after 100 miles on them I've decided that I like them. They were not as easy for me to love initially. I hate the synthetic material on the ankle and tongue but that is hard to escape these days. I have a very high arch so I needed to replace the cheap insole with a superfeet insole. I also replace the laces with a stronger and longer pair as I found the pair that came with it weak and short. After my upgrades and break-in I really do like these shoes for their light weight and heavy duty stability. I'm thinking of buying another pair.

Great boots! I have had them about 2 weeks. Wear them almost every day all day long. Have taken three 2.5 mile hikes. These seem like VERY durable boots. The only down side is they still feel very stiff and may take some time to break in. I also removed the insole and replaced them with a thicker, softer pair. I bought these because my first consideration is to have wide shoes. I love these because they are truly a wide. I must have wide shoes. It is difficult to find truly wide shoes and these are. Mine are Men's size 13 wide.

The Vasque hiking boot is excellent. No break-in period. These boots arrived the day before leaving to hike the national park trails in Utah. After 4 national parks on strenuous trails the boots have become my favorite footwear. They are lightweight,sturdy,support well, with excellent traction. The sizing is true. I am totally delighted after 2 weeks of strenuous hiking and a few more Parks to go.

Wide size is a must since toe a bit narrow. Light weight with full ankle & solid toe protection and tough sole, a must for any scrambling over jagged rocks.

Excellent boot. These boots provide great support and resist water penetration very well. They're stable on rough terrain and resist slipping while going up or downhill on both clay and gravelly trails. I typically wear dress shoes in size 8.5 or 9 EEE depending on the manufacturer. I purchased these in Size 9E. They fit perfectly, with merino hiking socks. There was a little pressure at the instep initially, but adjusting the laces and walking around the house in them for a few hours eliminated that completely. I've only had them a short while so can't comment on long term durability, but they certainly look well made and I expect them to perform well for a long time.

Received my St. Elias GTX order today and have been wearing them around the house to check the fit. I'm very pleased with the fit, comfort and quality construction.

I purchased these for work around the yard. I had two pair of the Skywalkers in the '80s - great boots - wore them out. I needed a more aggressive sole for winter and for muddy conditions. Loved the old ones, the new ones fit like a glove - no break in necessary.

I do not often write reviews, but these boots compelled me. Perfect fit, perfect weight, perfect function. They are as comfortable as slippers but durable in harsh conditions.

At least for me, the difference between a 13 and 13.5 was bigger than .5. Typical Zappos' efficiency in ordering and delivery. Boot fully met expectations.

I've frequently worn these boots during the past month. They are comfortable and provide "sure-footing" in the snow. I usually wear them on the city trail system. One MINOR negative: each boot has three pairs of speed-lacing "eyes"; extra coordination is needed to assure the correct lacing through the "eyes".

I walk every day. They're comfortable right from the start! I've been buying Vasque for years and never been disapointed.

These are very comfortable and they provide great support in uneven terrain. The sizes are pretty close to other brands I own. I appreciate the ability to get a narrow shoe size. I will update after my Machu Picchu hike.

I left the default 5 star ratings in place because I'm not ready to rate the boots seriously. I've worn them only in town so far, and they are comfortable and ready to wear without break-in. These boots run wide. I have never worn a narrow size before for any shoe or boot, but I needed one for these boots. With Vasque Breeze boots that I have used previously, I took a medium. The durability of previous pairs of Vasque boots that I have owned was sub-par, but I bought another pair nevertheless because they are comfortable and convenient.

I have had a hard time finding shoes to fit my narrow, long foot. This shoe fits very well, and is quite comfortable. I have barely broken them in, but so far seem like a pair I will be wearing for a long time.

Great web page, good selection, perfect ordering procedure, with quick on time delivery. What more could a person expect?

Took a few wears to really break them in, but once I did they were worth every penny. They are extremely comfortable, which is tough to accomplish coming from someone that spends a significant amount of time in running shoes. This is my second pair of Vasque and I am hooked!
