I have deplorable feet, flat, no medial, transverse or metatarsal arch, bunions and hyper mobility in both feet. These shoes have been a godsend, despite the price. They are the only shoes I can wear without my prescription orthotics because the support is that good. My feet don't hurt when I wear them. They're cute in a sort of ugly way but I can get way past that due to the comfort factor. I strongly encourage Finn Comfort to expand this Finnimic line and try to incorporate some "pretty" features into the shoes. By the by, the Finnimic line is the only shoes from the Finn Comfort collection I can wear. The others are not suitable for my food needs. These are my second pair of this style and I plan to buy more.

Another reviewer said she had deplorable feet. Me too. This is the third pair of Finn's I've purchased and about the only shoes I can wear for walking more than a a block or two without pain. The days of cute flats are gone, but these are nice looking and I don't feel like I'm wearing old-lady shoes. The arch support is superb and there is plenty of room in the toe box. The way the shoe is shaped helps me to rock my feet from heel to toe as I'm walking. Really, I'm not sure what I'd do without my Finns. They aren't easy to find so Zappos is great solution for me. I normally wear a 7.5, but always get these in an 8. These are just great shoes.

I am so sad. I purchased a pair of Ikebukuro in early 2019. The week after they arrived I took them on a 2 week holiday to Scotland, and wore them every day - no break in period. I wore them while walking miles every day, cobblestone streets, hills, rocks and grave roads. No complaints; the arch support was perfection, and I was in love. I waited until the budget provided the opportunity to purchase another pair, since I wear my red Ikebukuros almost every day since, for a year. I ordered a blue pair, in the same size, same style, and they were huge. Odd, I thought. So, I ordered a half size smaller, and those don't work either. My heel slips out and the arch support is not in the proper place. I am so disappointed. Was my first pair an anomaly? Have they changed the style? Something is off. So these are being returned. Sigh...I thought I had found MY shoes.

I really wanted to hate these shoes because of the money, but they are really wonderful. I got them in red and they are adorable! I usually wear a 6 in sandals, but a 6 1/2 in closed shoes, so I ordered the 6 1/2. I found the sizing to be perfect. The toe box is roomy, like clogs, so you can actually wiggle your toes. The arch support takes the pressure off my heels, one of which has a heel spur and usually hurts when I walk, but in these shoes I am comfortable. If I can grin and bear the price, I may just buy another pair!

The fit is true, and my left foot is a bit larger, but shoes feel good...gets a little tight in the toe at the end of the day, but okay. I got there for travel in hot Louisiana and they did great! And I really kind of like the style, the red showing up fine under long skirts, dresses and summer clothes. If they wear as well as others say they do, it will be a great investment and I won’t pack as many other shoes. These kind of go with everything

I own two of the Ikebukuro. The Atlantic blue is a soft, velvet nubuck and runs at least a half size too big. The taupe smooth nubuck runs true to size and is close fitting. What I dislike about this style is the stitching across the toe box. I tried a cigar leather and it felt wonderful but fit even closer than the taupe, so I needed to go a half size up, but I ended up not keeping the cigar because of the stitching. Leather is great because it softens and conforms to the foot, but the stitching in the cigar version made this impossible and stiff across the toe. In the close fitting styles, the stitching inside and around the area where the tongue attaches rubbed and irritated the outder edge of my foot beneath the toes, so I had to add a layer of moleskin there, which has solved the problem. But the loose Atlantic blue developed a crease near the toe stitching that pressed into my toes in a v-shaped valley. I tried several solutions and finally had to insert the paper mache foot mold that comes with other shoes, trim it to fit and keep in inside my Ikebukuro! This was the only thing that straightened out the crease. I think this was possible (and necessary) to do only because the shoe was a half size too big. Anyway, I cannot recommend the Ikebukuro. I love the Finn Comfort Nagasaki. I might be willing to try the Altrea or another style with no toe box stitching. The footbed of this shoe is amazing, but Finn needs to focus on the upper part as well. The Nagazaki is super comfortable because there is no stitching around the toe box at all. My foot is pretty normal in size, a C width but not chubby. This shoe should have fit me. The toe box needs more depth. These problems did not develop until I had worn the shoe a few times, so was too late to return them. I can still wear them, fortunately but with a cardboard insert in one and moleskin in the other!

These are the most comfortable shoes I have worn in a long time. I have difficult feet to say the least and it's almost impossible to find a shoe that does not hurt someplace on my left foot. These Finns are terrific. Good arch, plenty of toe room and enough cushion between my foot and the ground. I thought a bit ugly so I ordered a pair of shiny silver shoe laces to distract from the bulkiness. Voila!

Like many other reviewers, I too have deplorable feet, and I too wanted to not like these. But I am a devoted adherent to good German-engineered shoes, and felt like I should give them a chance after reading what others were saying. I figured it didn't hurt to try them on and that I'd probably send them back because I have a hard time justifying this kind of expense for shoes.
Well, like others, I was sold once I had them on my feet! They feel amazing, and that's not something I say lightly when talking about shoes. I have flat feet, and probably some other undiagnosed problems, and my feet pretty much hurt all the time. The only shoes I can wear all day are Danskos and Birkenstocks, but I can't walk all day around town or while traveling in either of those. I'm on my feet a lot at work and I walk around a lot, so these seem like they will meet my needs. The arch support is excellent and there's a nice roomy toe box, which are my two biggest priorities. They are not soft and squishy; they're very firm. But I feel like this will hold up better long term. As others have pointed out, the fact that you can have them refurbished over and over makes the cost balance out in the long run. One reviewer pointed out that they are heavy, and they are, but I got used to that and over it real quick.
I do have one small complaint that I did not see addressed in other reviews. On the removable foot bed there is a ridge all the way around - I think your foot is supposed to fit on the center pad, and the extra space is to allow room to expand. As the day goes on and my feet spread out the ridge starts to irritate my little toe. This is not something I noticed while trialing the shoes. I did wear them around the house for maybe half an hour at a time over a couple of days before deciding to keep them, but this problem didn't materialize until I wore them for more than a couple of hours. I think a slightly larger size (like a quarter size up if such a thing existed) would have solved the problem for me, but if I had gone a half or full size up in these, they would have been too big. People with less long feet may not have the problem I do. I am attaching a pic in which I tried to fill in the gap with a little moleskin (seems to help a little, may need double moleskin to do the trick).
For reference, I wear a 9 or 9.5 in most shoes, 40 in Danskos and Birkenstocks, and I got these in a UK 6.5 (40 Eur equivalent).

Finn Comfort purchased two weeks ago in blue, I was looking for a comfort shoe for a trip to France involving lots of walking, I have extremely difficult sizing issues and foot pain. I need walking shoes which have ultimate support, yet fit on the wide side, In other brands I wear a size 5W, which is never easy to find, most shoes in my size are dreadful looking - my choices are limited, So far I am still deciding on the Finn or perhaps one other shoe, I like the UK sizing on the Finn - the size 3 works for me and fits like an American wide width. I love the rocker sole - these shoes are extremely well made and comfortable. The only negative for me is the outside material on the blue ones, I am concerned it will not hold up - given the price of the shoes I expect this pair to last for a long time. I may try the brown leather ones for longevity---sadly they are not as good looking as the blue. All in all I am lucky to have a choice. Thank you, Zappos!

This is an amazing shoe for anyone with problem feet - it’s as close as you get to feeling normal. I have hallux rigidus and need surgery which I plan on avoiding forever if I can. The Finn Comfort finnamic shoe is just a perfect shoe. And this one with the dark sole and leather (not suede) allows me to go from walking my two messy labs who drag me through mud to the office.

I have thin, flat, flexible, very low volume feet with a neuroma and a bunion. I had high hopes for these but was very disappointed, The shoes were sloppy on my foot and were narrow at the toebox and didn't accommodate the bunion I have. Too bad as they are really cute. Returned.

I bought my wife these shoes after she had been very happy with another pair of Finn Comforts. She works on her feet all day as a Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technologist, and is constantly on the go, on a hard concrete floor. She has worked in medical for 18 years and has gone through countless (and supposedly premium) work shoes. She insists these are the best shoes she's ever worn to work in, by far! Plus, she received at least a dozen compliments on them in the first day she wore them. Pricey, but well worth the investment. Finn Comfort is awesome.

I am a size 8 with a C width. I tried both the 6UK and the 6.5UK. This shoe, while listed as medium is certainly wide enough, especially in the toe box, so feel free to try it out if you would normally order wide in other brands. While the size 6 fit me, I opted to keep the 6.5. even though is a little long on me. I wear thicker socks, add a thin flat insole cushion (works like a pillow top on a hard mattress), and know this bigger-sized shoe will fit if my foot continues to spread out with age (expect to your foot to increase a half size every ten years after age 40. I wore a size 7 and a B width as a young woman. Mine is the Atlantic blue in what appears to be Nubuck leather. This shoe is really adorable—looks like a cute sneaker. The contrasting white sole keeps it from looking too boxy or orthopedic. What I love about Finn Comfort is the option to replace the footbed if it should wear out eventually. My first pair (the FC Nagasaki) felt odd to me at first because there is a depression in the heel cup so it felt like I was landing on the back of my arch instead of my heel. I have found this is perfectly okay—the footbed conforms to your foot after breaking it in, and since I lost some of the padding in my heel, which also happens with age, I do not get a sore heel at the end of the day, since I am not landing full force on a hard heel area. The arch support is amazing—my whole foot relaxes when I put these on. Finn Comfort offers two versions—a flatter Bikenstock-like footbed with metatarsal support and the Finnatic footbed (used in this shoe) that has a higher arch. I love the higher arch for walking or standing all day—also has a rocker sole to aid in walking. The Finnatic comes in half sizes while the other style does not. I have to say there is no better shoe out there—expensive, yes, but completely supports your foot, lots of toe room, great quality. I would have preferred a leather option for this shoe, but since I won't be wearing it all the time, it should hold up okay. The Nubuck leather in this shoe is not extra-thick either, so may not be as durable as the regular leather Finns perhaps, but it does have the same interior leather layer. I recommend spraying the shoe with a quality rain and stain spray to help preserve it as well. I also rub the sole of my Finns with fine sandpaper, which removes the squeak that can happen on highly polished floors, though this style hardly squeaked at all. Thank you Zappos for allowing us to try on a couple pairs to get a proper fit with free return shipping!

I wanted to hate the brand, but needed real support and comfort for my damaged feet (rheumatoid condition and failed surgery) in order to stay mobile. So I bit the bullet and ordered. After walking around the house for a few hours, I was so glad I tried these shoes. I can once again go for walks without limping around. I ended up ordering another style of Finn Comfort and they are equally comfortable.

These are the only shoes I can and do wear. Every time they come out with a new color I purchase them. I have over 15 pairs of this exact shoe I’ve collected through the years. They last forever! If they do start wearing out you can send them in and they’ll refurbish them for you as if they were brand new. So, yes, it seems like a lot of money but I feel I’ve saved money in the long run by not buying cheaper shoes that you end up getting rid of. Also, for those of you that say these aren’t stylish, I get compliments constantly on my shoes and I’m not an old lady! The key is to buy the one with the white sole and keep them very clean and white. They are hip!

I need structured shoes that don't look like they are orthopedic shoes! I was hesitant about these due to the price, but ordered them anyway. I loved them when I first tried them on; wore them around for a few days trying to find fault with them, but I couldn't. Finally, I gave in and decided to keep them. I wore them to work, stood at my standing desk most of the day (something I rarely can do), and went to a charity event that night. I was in them for 14 hours, on my feet, and no complaints. I love them! I decided the price is worth it. They give me fantastic arch support. They are CUTE. My feet are happy.

I like the feel of this shoe but it is about 1/2 size to short for me. I'm going to re-order in a half size larger. Excellent support and the quality of craftsmanship cannot be bettered. I hope the larger size will work for me.

Very wide & very heavy..Not lightweight nor comfortable. Interesting looking-somewhere between funky (unusual looking & very nice color) and really ugly.Thought would be a nice looking comfortable walking shoe to wear instead of sneakers or running shoes while travelling, They're being returned. They are Finn Discomfort not Finn Comfort.

Terribly uncomfortable shoe. This shoe was very heavy. I need support for my back but I do not need to feel like I am wearing weights on my legs. Very clunky and hurt my back. If you are wanting a heavy shoe there are many brands much cheaper and more stylish that are heavy. Very disappointed in this shoe.
Thanks Zappos for offering so many different brands and easy shopping and returns. I am unable to do extensive shopping due to my back and leg problems. You are heaven sent!

The length and width were perfect. I’ve had this style several times in the past and prefer it to all other brands. However, this time the depth seemed to deep. An orthotic insert cured the problem and am now a very happy walker.

I love these shoes. Unfortunately, the heels are a bit too wide for my feet; and when I walk, the right shoe rubs up and down on one part of that foot. I hate to return them because they are otherwise so comfortable, but that's a blister in the making.

I absolutely love these shoes. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I can walk hours in them, wear them all day, and forget totally about my feet. They are well worth the price. I bought the black. They do not have strong shine which comes across in the picture. It is a neat print which makes a casual shoe look a bit more dressy. I just can't say enough good things about this shoe.

I have another pair of this Ikebukuro shoe in the same size, which I like very much. It has great support and feels like it was made for my foot. Unfortunately, this pair seems at least a half size bigger and felt sloppy and slippy on my feet. I have to return them and am reluctant to order another size.

The red dye on these shoes was incredibly easy to rub off (and onto other things) -- including the white shoelaces and the white soles. I dont understand how the fabric is meant to keep its color. They need to fix this.
