I purchased the brown boots back in December and they are my favorite of all of my Vivo's. The are true to size, wear like iron and look great. I'm in the field all winter and these puppies have served me very well. My only knock on the black boots is the hideous white sole. What were they thinking?

This review is tentative, since I haven't tried these out in the snow yet, as winter hasn't come around. Overall, I am very pleased with the Scott. I've been waiting for a minimalist winter boot that isn't ugly, and Vivobarefoot finally followed through. I will say that it has been pretty cold where I am from, and the Thinsulate lining does a good job of keeping my feet warm.

This is a great shoe. I ordered a 12 because I have a narrow 13 foot. The 12 turned out to be a bit short and the width was wide for me. So I assume that while a 13 would fit my length better the width would be too loose.

I have been waiting to get these shoes for a year. I really wanted the brown, but they were gone too fast. These are great shoes and I will still get the brown when they come out. Also the sole is now black starting this year. If you wear other Vivo, these fit a tad smaller. I usually wear 45's for Vivo, but 44 is perfect on the Scott's. They are warm enough for a tough winter, but would not mind paying the extra for Gortex.

Love these boots, perfect for winter in Seattle. this is my fourth pair of Vivobarefoots and in my experience the quality of their shoes is outstanding, I wear them until the sole is completely worn out. If you are looking for great looking zero drop winter boots, I strongly recommend these ones. Order half to full size larger than you normally wear.

Love this boot - a true barefoot boot. I design and build sports facilities so I'm outdoors a great deal in the cold Ohio winter. Looks great with a nice pair of chinos (or Kuhl Renegades). Warm, classic and very comfortable. I own the brown boots and they clean up with a damp cloth. Size allows for nice thick wool socks. True barefoot, so if you are looking for support and structure, this is not the boot for you. No added insulation but the insole has some insulating features. The Gobi is a great alternative too if you want something black.

I love these boots! The only problem I have found is that I do not want to wear regular shoes anymore. Also, the picture shows that the boots have a white sole, when the sole is actually black. Best minimalist shoe I have tried so far. I will be purchasing another pair!

Just get 'em. I don't write reviews but being my second pair of Vivobarefoot shoes I feel compelled to let the world know that I've found my new shoe manufacturer. These shoes let you feel connected with the ground, but the Scott's in particular are just better looking than any other minimalist boot I've seen. If you can find em in brown, I'd highly recommend. Thank you Vivobarefoot!

Great shoes! They were not available on Vivo's site, which was a good thing because I purchased the wrong size and had to swap them out with a smaller pair. The process was flawless and staff was very friendly. Normally am a 9.5 US but 9 US fits perfect.

These are my fourth pair of Vivos but first "real" boots. They feel like thicker, warmer versions of classic Vivos. You can still feel terrain, but the sole is sturdier. I've had them for 3 weeks, just got to try them in snow this week and water last week. Went ankle deep in wetland muck and foot stayed dry and warm. The canvas ankle section absorbs water, but doesn't soak to foot; will look into Scotchguard. Fit is same as other Vivos, but their bulkiness made it feel stiff initially. Tough to get in and out of--have to loosen laces all the way down, which the tongue tie and eyelets make more difficult.

I really want to like these because they feel great, but the pair Zappos sent to me is visibly scuffed up already. I'm returning them for another pair, because I think I like them, but I'm not willing to shell out so much money for damaged shoes. :( I hope the second pair looks better!

The shoe was great. No arch and very wide toe box. I was between sizes so I went up one. Very minimalist shoe. The sole started to separate from the rest of the shoe very quickly though. I did glue it back a few times, but didn't stick. I am rough on shoes.

I absolutely loved this boot until the soles peeled off two years later. I've only used them in the winter but I've worn them all winter long. If you're made of money and can afford a new pair every two years, have at it. If not, search for minimalist warmth elsewhere.

I am responsible for one of the five-star reviews of this product. That review was a bit premature. The following could be improved upon: (A) These boots are not terribly durable: I ordered them in mid-October and the sole is already starting to peal off around the toe-box. The peeling is minimal at this time, but I expected more from a boot at this price. (B) These boots are not warm enough to be called "winterproofed", as Vivobarefoot has described them on their website. That is probably because Thinsulate does not line the toe-box, where it is most needed, only the canvas upper. This could be an amazing boot, but it's not quite there yet. I look forward to future iterations of it. Come on, Vivobarefoot, I know you can deliver.

So I'm love barefoot shoes, I own a few vibram five finger toe shoes and this is my second vivobarefoot shoes. I like the style of Vivobarefoot but I'm disappointed with the strength of the shoes. My first pair came loose at seems. Then I decided to give the Scott a try. The first pair I received had a stitch loose so I returned it and got a replacement the next day. Thanks Zappos! So far I have these shoes for about a week and I love the look. I've worn it about 4 times and it's looking like the glue is coming apart again. So my conclusion after 2 pairs I can say this brand is expensive with great style and poor workmanship. This is my last Vivobarefoot shoes.

First the good: it keeps my feet warm and dry. And it looks pretty decent for a barefoot shoe. The bad: it tends to make me heel-strike, which is not at all what one wants in a barefoot shoe. I'm guessing it may be the boot-shape. I want to like this shoe because I've been trying to find something like it for a while but I basically never use it because heel-striking is bad for you in an non-cushioned shoe.
