Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I am a newcomer to compression tights, although I have run for a long time with compression socks and knee sleeves, so I understand the idea behind them, and how the compression can help - if the design is good. I saw all these options and styles for the CW-X tights and didn't understand how they differed, so I went to their website to explore why I would want to pay $60-80 more for a pair of tights that looked similar to other models. I'm very glad I did that because I learned a lot. The Endurance Generator tights combine the best features of the Stabilyx and Pro models into one ultra endurance support tight. Before buying these, I purchased both PerformX and Stablyx and I can definitely feel the difference between those and the Endurance, primarily in the hip area. The Endurance Generator is rated for cooler weather, they are thicker and a lot tighter in the hips by design. In fact, I have a size small (for my 135 lb & 5'3" frame) in the Stablyx but the small does not work at all in the Endurance Generator. This pair, even in a size medium for me is very difficult to get on because of the lack of give in the hip area. This is where I need it the most though so I don't mind the difficulty, but I cannot even get in to the size small and I don't have large hips. These tights support knees and shins extremely well, the IT band really feels good support, alongside the hip area. I was skeptical on these because of the price but because I already had the Stablyx (and liked those) but I wanted to try these, and actually they are great for fall/winter and early spring. I like the Stablyx for the summer since the material is a lot thinner. The only thing I don't agree with is how the description says they give lower back support. I guess they do that via the compression on the belly/hips but the back doesn't actually have a higher rise like you might think from the measurement here. They sit pretty low, right at, or just below the naval and that's good. If you want them up higher, you're only going to be able to get them another inch or so beyond that due to the tight groin fit. These are my go-to for half marathons now. I am a "mature" runner and by no means fast but I like to stay fit and not get hurt so I can keep running. These tights help me with that. These do not ride or bunch. But if you haven't used CW-X before I suggest doing a couple of practice runs in these before using them for a race, they do take some getting used to. At first you might think they restrict you, but you learn how to move with them with practice, and it's a huge benefit. Oh, and take your time putting them on, and be sure to put the lines in exactly the right place for the support. This is essential. I do love the lines and styles, and glad that there was at least one color option (gray Stablyx) but for the most part your options are going to be black, with a few nice lines that flatter the figure and support the most important areas needed for running.

This is an update to a previous review that describes how I tore a hole in one knee. Was my fault - nothing to do this the amazing quality of the tights. I sewed the hole closed by hand and there was no further issue. I was sure that they would fray or ladder, but it's been a year since the repair and the 2 inch seam is solid.

I am a mature, weekend athlete and these tights saved me during a regional mini-triathlon. Six months ago, I ran into an open drawer and still have knee pain. A compression sleeve over my knee helped, but I needed something more, plus I was getting a bulge where the sleeve ended at my thigh which was very unappealing. These pants were were an extravagance for me and I am happy to say that looked good and felt good. I wore them the next day for recovery and I think that helped ease my stiffness. I ran, biked, and paddled so they got wet, then dried quickly. According to my husband, the colored line design is flattering. Sadly, I went for a bike ride the next day, fell, and ripped a huge gash in the knee. (same knee that was previously injured) I sewed the hole up, but my lovely tights will never be the same. Ugh!

I have only used these as a recovery tight but so far they have been great! I was between size S and M, ended up with the M.

I love these tights. I am an older runner and have some knee and hip issues so I found these to give me the support that I need. I am 5' 4" and weigh about 139. I am in between small and medium. The small was just too tight. I got in them but went back for a medium and found them to fit great. I think the extra support fabric at the hips made these a bit tighter. I wear a small in the stability tights and capris but it is a bit thinner density in fabric. Some people do not like the color bands but I like a bit of color and can wear a variety of tops with them. I have run 10k and 10 miler in these. Will most likely try a half marathon with them.
I'd also recommend:
I also like the 2XU brand but they provide different support.

I had to replace a former pair by this company and wanted to stay with the company, that is how much I like them and their products. I found these to be all they said they were and decided to quickly order a second pair. I read a few people note they tended to be tighter than their prior pairs and some noted they had to go up a size. I agree the fabric on this pair does have stronger support and was a bit more snug, I found I did not need to go up a size, so it may depend on your body type or comfort preferences. These pants really help with my work outs and recovery and they are long lasting and easy to care for.

These tights do the job! I am 140lbs 5.5" and have osteoarthritis in feet, knees, hands, spine. These tights keep things aligned and I am able to do my three and a half mile run with ease. I do have some trouble putting them on due to the discomfort in my hands, a small price to pay.

These tights are excellent for hiking and running, but the compression for the hips isn't easy to get around curves. Once the tights are in place they really perform with support and compression. Next time, I'll size up, but I'm happy with these.
