I can barely find the words to describe just how perfect these shoes are for me. I like to walk, and a typical vacation for me is hoofing it for 10-15 miles per day in some exotic city. Because of that, my shoes are very important, and I am really picky. Recently, I've been wearing black Nike Free Runs because they are remarkably comfortable. But traveling in the winter means a high likelihood of rain so in spite of comfort, they are not perfect. With an upcoming trip to Paris, I was faced with a decision - wear my less than optimal Ecco walkers (sometimes blisters) or look for something else. And that's when I stumbled on the Merrell Realm. Absolutely comfortable right out of the box. I had about a week to soften them up before leaving on my trip and it was clear that they were going to work right from the start. Back now after 9 days of plying the cobblestones, in the rain, I can say they worked out better than expected, particularly for brand new shoes. Not even a single spot of tenderness. I'm buying a second pair for the closet, they are that good.

They are heavy and require breaking in. I was surprised by how clunky they are. They have very nice tread, but that is the only nice thing I can say about them. The toe is really round -- like a half circle. It looks orthopedic, not stylish.

Bought these for my husband, to replace his late great Merrell World shoes (the ones with the map on the sole), since they no longer make that style. He looked at dozens of shoes online, and these were the best candidate. He's been wearing them to work for a week or two, and likes the fit and feel. Quality seems as good as his previous Merrells, though we did receive a pair with a small cosmetic defect (Zappos was great about returning them of course). His only complaint is the little flap on the very back of the shoe sometime catches the back of his trouser cuff. Style is a nice plain solid look, tho sort of featureless compared to the old Merrell's. I think they look great with jeans or khakis. Husband chose the espresso color, a nice and very dark brown. He still likes the look of the old Merrell's better, but I actually prefer these.

I am very happy with these shoes. They are comfortable right out of the box and have a unique look to them that are stylish. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great shoe, very comfortable, good quality, decent sole for inclement weather. I've worn Merrell hiking shoes for about 10 years, but these are my first business casual shoes, I'm not disappointed.

Like Merrell shoes I've had in the past, they run a bit large. These have been every but as comfortable as I've grown to expect from this company. I'm hoping that are as durable as well.

I was a bellman in Las Vegas. Part of my job involved running about 7-10 miles every night on deliveries across our 54 story building. Three years later, although they are a little scuffed, they are still in great condition. The tread is still good (I was running on carpet) and the leather has held up with only maintenance shine and leather touch ups. I am buying another pair not because the first one has gone out, but just as insurance if they ever decide to stop making this shoe. I couldn't be happier with them.

Excellent shoes. Durable and good-looking for your typical casual fridays at the office. I would buy again.

Full disclosure: I love Merrell, so I am somewhat biased. That said this pair of shoes is great. I needed something for work that looks at least somewhat polished, but I can be comfortable walking around for 12+ hours a day and these fit the bill perfectly

they are not as slip-resistant as i would like for restaurant work. otherwise they are very comfortable and light. overall i do like them quite a bit

I was lucky enough to find two of these my size 7 over at Zappos' sister site, 6 pm. And they were marvelous. Extremely comfortable and good looking pair of oxford. Can't beat the sale price at Zappos.

Glad that Merrell came back with a shoe that's appropriate for a professional workplace. I like the classic oxford styling better than recent offerings. Very comfortable on my first day of wearing them and good arch support. Slightly lighter than past Merrell oxfords and that's a good thing. The heel rise is lower than other shoes and this makes for more of a mid-foot strike/landing on walking as well as more of a neutral position while standing.

I have a black and brown pair. Comfortable enough, but walking in them changed my gait. Can't explain why. Result was back pain. Almost as soon as I stopped wearing them, the pain went away. I started wearing them again and the pain started up again. Even tried a custom ortho insole, but no luck. I see many people love these shoes. I wanted to love them, but they don't work for me.

Instant comfort! Arrived at 4, put them on at 5 and spent most of the evening standing on hard floors at church. These shoes felt like old friends I'd been wearing for years.

Great shoes. Fit well and my feet feel good after the whole day of being on my feet. I'm work at an elementary school and walk all day. Shoe laces don't hold up well through. I kneel down to kid level all the time and the laces are frayed at the lace holes. Seems impossible to replace with the same. Unique problem for sure. Nice shoes over all.

I ordered 3 sizes for my hubby as he normally is 12.5 and you can't find those. So got 12 W and 13 Reg and Wide. The 12 wide fit the best as the toe box gives a bit more room. Length was good. He was very happy to be able to try them all side by side and choose the best fit. After a few days he was happy he bought these. Comfort wise and style wise. Good for everyday casual/business casual.

I was looking for a good shoe for traveling in Europe. I have a hiking boots made by Merrell that have lots of miles and years on them so I thought I would go with a Merrell shoe. Also my father has a pair of Merrell Realm Lace and he highly recommended them. I am extremely happy and impressed with the shoe. It is comfortable, sturdy and seems very well made.

In general I really like Merrell shoes. These are very light, grippy soles, and dressy enough for work, but still go well with casual dress. You can walk miles in these shoes and not regret it. My feet are rather narrow, and in general Merrell's do stretch and get a little wide for my foot. but there are few narrows out there so I deal with it.

I love these shoes. Wore them all day on purchasing and didn't even thing about wearing new shoes. They're smart and stylish, but sturdy. Bought another pair in brown a week later.

I have has these shoes for over a year. I hesitated to spend so much on shoes, but, these have proven to be the most comfortable and durable shoes that I have owned. I used to wear clunky orthopedic looking shoes as a mater of rivethead style. In my world these are nowhere near that description from another review. Doc Martens are clunky. I wear these at my corporate software job, stomping around in the woods with shorts, just about everything. They do not have that new school aero-look so popular and tired from the past 10 years. The arch support is incredible. They are really broken in now and get better looking as time goes by. The only drawback is the lack of ventilation as they do get sweaty.

Instant comfort! They run true to size, have a nice big toe box. I put them on and spent the day in them. I hated taking them off but my wife would not let me wear them to bed.

I cannot remember the last time that I had shoes that were this comfortable and durable. I have found comfortable shoes that did not hold up, and durable shoes that were too uncomfortable to wear every day. The style is a little looked a little clunky at first but they are extremely light for such a durable shoe. They are casual enough to wear with jeans but I wear them to work almost every day with slacks and sports coat. I do not ever want to take them off. The shoelaces are not great - they stretch too much over time and eventually unravel. The upper shoe itself stays supple but keeps its shape. Despite a lot of use, the soles wear like iron despite their suppleness. A little polish now and then and they look like new. These are great walking shoes that I will definitely buy again.

These are the 2nd pair of these shoes my husband has purchased. This morning he said "they are worth every penny of the cost." We would, and probably will buy them again.
