I bought these for a trip to Europe as I wanted some waterproof sneakers. While the waterproofing seems to be effective, it is somewhat negated by the fact that the material really does not breathe so that at the end of a day of walking, the shoes were damp inside. Even after taking the insoles out for the shoes to dry overnight, they still felt just as damp the next morning, which was not a great feeling to have while walking. While the construction of the shoes does seem good, the soles were actually quite slippery on wet cobblestone, which caused concern as I then had to worry about slipping. The insole did not provide a ton of support for a lot of walking, I appreciate that the shoes are vegan-friendly, decent looking, and solidly built, but I would not recommend them for any extended/wet weather use.

I was looking for a basic, waterproof trail runner and this fits the bill. It has a much larger volume than I was expecting, leaving room for thick hiking socks or a wider foot, I think. But even with thin socks, it's pretty comfortable.

I like to write this review because I want other people to benefit from my experience not only with Zappos but the Merrell Grassbow Sport waterproof shoes. First of all, I want to say that Zappos has been the store for me for a long time. Their products, return policy, costumer service and professionalism are amazing. With that said I want to talk about my Merrell shoes. I am Vegan, and I was looking for Vegan shoes, when I saw that Zappos is selling Vegan shoes I was happy. I order the Merrell sneakers and I was concerned because I use braces. I thought that because they were medium that maybe I will have problems especially because I have a lot of health problems with my feet. When I got them, they were a little tight, but after using them for the next 24 hour they felt like a glove. I was walking like an old lady with my old shoes because all my health problems. Now I am walking like a healthy woman and very comfortable. I am very happy with my Merrell Grassbow Sport Waterproof shoes. Thank you Merrell and Zappos for making my life more comfortable with my Merrell Grassbow Sport Waterproof shoes.

I was looking for waterproof trail shoes and I have always had a positive experience with Merrell. These fit the bill. I feel secure and dry over rocky/rooty wet terrain with these shoes. Merrel typically runs half a size short for me.

These were a little pricey but so worth it. I wear them almost every day. They're comfortable, true to size, waterproof and animal friendly. Since I live in the Pacific Northwest, the waterproofness is a big deal: the ground is wet a lot of the time. These shoes are also warm. One night I put on a different pair of sneakers and my feet were noticeably colder.

Holy Moly...these sneakers are about the most comfortable things I've ever put on my feet! Incredible fit, great support and they look fabulous! Getting a vegan shoe is very important to me, and I couldn't be happier with these. These sneakers would stand up to any other, vegan or not, in style, comfort and function -- love 'em!

I love these shoes! I have had them now about 2 months and they keep my feet dry and warm at work every day. I walk through wet grass almost morning and water never enters them. They are so comfortable too! I probably put 5 miles on them every day. I highly recommend them for hiking or working in.

These shoes are great! Very comfortable and supportive. I haven't been able to test out how waterproof they are yet but otherwise great shoes and I love the bright blue laces and accents. These are some of the most flattering hiking shoes that I could find that are also functional. They are very lightweight and not "clunky."

I was feeling bad about the price of these shoes and was thinking about sending them back, but then I tried them on. They are hands down the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. Plus they really do seem totally waterproof. They are warmer than my hiking boots and work well with wool socks. If you're looking for warm, dry shoes, these are the ones.

I had a pair of Merrell hiking shoes prior to buying this pair that I liked comfort-wise but did not particularly like style-wise and was annoyed that the synthetic material started "chipping" within a few months of wear. However, I was pleased enough with those shoes that I decided to try another pair of Merrell hiking shoes. I like the style of this pair much better, being as I prefer dark shoes. I love that these are vegan-friendly, as I am a strict vegan. I've worn these 3 times so far during hikes, and so far they are very comfortable. They do seem quite waterproof. Oh, and they fit very well, which my other Merrell pair did too. Thus, I feel these are true to size.

This style of Merrell runs about a half size smaller than my other Merrell's. Great for the people that have a more narrow foot; due to the lacing style. Still happy with Merrell and Zappos!

I am a big fan of Merrell shoes. This is the first pair I have ever sent back. I purchased the shoe 1/2 size larger and it was still too tight in the toe. It is very structure to the point it feels like a leather boot at the toe. Disappointed.

The toe box was smaller than anticipated. The heel felt narrow though which was nice for me. I had to return them due to the narrow toe area.

These shoes make my feet very hot and they are so narrow they make the outsides of my feet ache! I have worn Merrell's before and they were very comfortable. I am hoping these stop hurting once I break them in. They are attractive shoes, they just hurt!

I love how these shoes fit. I've always been super happy with Merrell! The only problem I have is how slippery they are on wet floors. There is no traction in that situation! Otherwise the waterproofing is awesome, the feel is great, and they seem to hold up really well.

I bought these shoes four days ago. Part of the upper (the gray part) is peeling away from the sole! I just got them and they are about to be very unwaterproof. I love them otherwise but I would definitely be wary for that much money.

I really wanted to love these vegan, waterproof, good traction and they look good on. But the footbed is odd. The heel feels like a pillow and there is no arch support. Had to return.

I'm done with Merrell. I bought these shoes about a year ago to walk in the colder months. By early spring, the tread was gone. I didn't wear them all summer, then walked twice in them last week. On the second walk, the heel ripped open and rubbed a hole over my achilles that still hasn't healed. I used to love Merrells, but can't afford their poor quality anymore.
