I was looking for a pair of simple, elegant booties that would look nice under dress pants, or with skirts or skinny jeans. I also wanted a rubberized or textured sole that would minimize any risk of slipping on ice in the winter. These fit the bill and are incredibly comfortable and well-made, with lots of nice padding. I have a lower arch but I think if you have a high arch these would also be great.

These look so much cooler in person. I bought them to wear with tights and knee length skirts, and they lend a great shape to my foot and don't cut off my leg line. Very elongating, but still understated and not too formal with a chunky but graceful heel. Great modern look with good cushy arch support inside. Very excited to get a lot of wear out of these.

These shoes look great on my feet. The toe was a little more rounded in appearance that it looks in the picture, but they were fairly comfortable. However, I have slightly high arches, and the leather upper was a bit too tight against my foot once I put a thin pair of socks on. The sole could use a bit more padding for comfort as well.

These shoes are the best. I am on my feet all day. They feel like tennis shoes, so comfortable. They look nice too.

This is a great shoe, but not the gray that I was looking for. Very comfortable very nice shoe. Really like the quality and fit like a glove. True to size.

I never wear heels and I walk everywhere. For a long time, I searched for cute, feminine short boots that I can wear when walking around the city. These boots do not disappoint. I've worn them frequently during the past month. They are relatively easy to walk in. They are comfortable to walk in for 30 min or so. When I am rushing up and down the hills in SF or walk for more than 30 minutes, the ball of my foot starts feeling it. I imagine that people who are used to heels (or who don't walk everywhere) wouldn't be as bothered as I am. The shoes regularly receive compliments, as they look great with skinny jeans and leggings and can easily be dressed up or down.

I got these yesterday and agree that they are cuter in person. The "grey" color is really a taupe type of brown. They are also quite comfortable considering that they are heels. When I tried them on, they were a tiny bit tight, but not pinching tight, and that was largely because I was wearing socks and it was the end of the day. With the right socks/hose, and when they stretch a little bit, they will be perfectly comfortable. There is definitely excellent support for the heel height -- they barely feel like heels. I can't wait to wear them!

I now have two pair because these are so comfortable, will dress up or dress down, and are a perfect fit!

These are very comfortable boots. I can wear them all day and my feel will not begin to hurt until the day is over. The look was what I was looking for too! I would recommend them for sure!

First time buying Born shoes. Great buy and very comfortable to wear. I am usually a 7.5 but bought these in size 8 so I could wear with socks.

When I first put these on, I was sure they would hurt by the end of the day, but they were actually quite comfy. I didn't like the look of the ankle part though, as it looked rather awkward, so I returned them because I was looking for something I could wear with skinny jeans or wider legged pants.

These shoes are very comfortable and easy to walk in even after several hours on my feet! The Born brand has always fit me well.

I was skeptical about purchasing this shoe because of high heel. However, it is so comfortable and easy to walk in. Born Claire is true to size with good arch support. I just love the shoe and pleased with my purchase. Thank you Zappos for getting them to me in time for my Christmas dinner outing.

Love these boots! I try so hard not to wear them every day but I just can't help it, they are so comfortable and look fantastic with just about anything. I highly recommend these boots.

I love these boots! They are just the yummiest brown, and soft, and the heel is perfect. Can't say enough about them. And as for Zappos, this is the answer for a busy mom with a need to for a treat every so often. If I feel like a little treat, just go on Zappos and that lovely box in the driveway when I get home after work is just the thing. I love you, Zappos!

This boot is both stylish and comfortable, despite the somewhat high heel. It looks terrific with slacks, dresses up a pair of jeans, and would probably look good with the right skirt. This is my third pair of Born boots, and I will keep buying the brand because of its high quality, great fit, and excellent value for the price.

Beautiful boots! At first, I found them tight in the toe box, and they were slipping on one of my heels, so I thought about sending them back. But they are so pretty that I was determined to make them work for me. The leather is very soft and flexible, so I wore them with thick socks inside around the house and within a few hours they had stretched to fit my foot perfectly and now are so comfortable (with thinner socks). I added a little padding in the one heel that was was slipping on me and they fit like a soft leather glove; no discomfort and no slipping. I generally have a tough time walking in 3" heels, but these are cushioned and flexible, which makes them not feel like such a high heel. I stood very comfortably in them for 4 hours at a New Year's Eve party, and have worn them to work and running around town on errands, with zero discomfort. I wouldn't walk for miles in them, or in any 3" heels, but they are very versatile for daily wear and look fabulous with a variety of outfits. These fit TTS. I'm a size 7 in Born boots and open toe sandals; usually size 7.5 in Born closed toe shoes. These fit me in size 7.

Looked at literally hundreds of leather boots w/ a substantial heel that might offer style as well comfort and a sole with traction for walking in the shoe. Options are so limited for finding something stylish without compromising comfort and safety for outdoor wear in WNY winters. So glad that I went with my instinct for another pair by Born. These are truly the most walkable heeled boots that I have owned and they provide better traction than many of my riding boots! As another review suggests, more flattering on than in the photos. Very versatile. Great with jeans or leggings and a dress. LOVE! Ordering the taupe-y color next!

I was pleasantly surprised at these sassy booties. I have been looking for a go to black bootie and ordered several. I didn't even think these would be strong contenders, but they were the hands down winner. They are super versatile. I have worn them with dresses, skirts, leggings, and skinnies. They look great with them all. They are also the most comfortable pair among those I ordered by far. I am NOT a heels girl and have worn these all day with no issues. The only reason I did not give them a 5 in comfort was I do wish they were a bit wider, but I probably have wider than average feet. It is not a big issue and I think they will stretch a bit over time. Very happy with these.

These are the most comfortable boots I have worn in years. I can wear all day and they still feel good. Excellent arch support and padding.

Very happy with these boots. They are comfortable, the heel is a good height for my long trousers. They are quieter than a lot of my other boots on the hardwood floor. I have had them now for a few weeks, worn them several days per week and so far they are wearing very well.

I have foot issues. Narrow heel, bunion, high instep; everything hurts. I needed good looking boots for work. These are dressy but comfortable. These are great. No pinching, good cushioning, and they are good looking. They are a wise choice!
