Looks warm. Looks like it would have even fit. My biggest issue: PARTIAL gusseted tongue. The beginning of the boot had a tiny amount of protection from snow, water but the gusset DOES NOT go all the way up the boot. Once I noticed this about the boot, I sent it right back and let Zappos know about this. They were very nice and even gave me a gift card towards future purchases. Great job Zappos, but false advertising on Patagonia's part.

Detroit, MI has wavered between negative 7 and negative 31 since early January. I use the trolley to get to work. While commuting on foot, I have not had a moment of discomfort in these boots. They are absolute proof that you get what you pay for. I've passed my ordering info to 4 other women. While I wish my size was available in another color, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this brand again. The price point is far beyond my comfort zone, but the comfort zone they offer is worth the price.

I love these boots. I spend the winter at the ski mountain and always wear my Uggs when I take off my boots. Last winter I started photographing ski teams and my Uggs do not have any traction walking through deep snow on the side of the mountain photographing Alpine racers. I purchased these boot and they are absolutely awesome! I have traction, my feet are always warm and even in wet snow conditions they are waterproof. For those of you who said that snow leaks inside the boots, I have never had that problem. The other comment about having to untie the boots each time is not my experience. Once the boots have been worn and are broken in I just slip them on and off with a little more effort than my Uggs. In full disclosure these are not heavy winter pack boots that I would wear snowmobiling or trekking around Yellowstone in the winter but they are perfect for winter play time at the mountain and standing on snow banks for hours at a time. They are stylish, too. I always get compliments on how cute and unique they are. If you are on the fence I hope this helps.

Loved these the moment I put them on. I needed shoes for woods walks, hiking in snowy weather and winter shoveling. These are high enough that I won't worry when we get a massive snow fall about my feet getting wet, and they fit like a running shoe, so they are totally comfortable. I will be able to walk miles in comfort - they are light but sturdy. Worth every penny. I am usually either a 5.5 or 6 depending on who makes the shoe. I ordered a 6 and they are perfect.

I ordered these in the nickel color in a size 9.5 from Zappos. The color is true as shown on screen - the purple is vivid and the gray is dark and gorgeous. These boots are so well constructed, they're fairly heavy, actually, but the quality shines in these boots. I'm usually a size 9, and the 9.5 was too small. The boots were incredibly warm and comfortable, but I just didn't have enough toe room. After much debate, I ended up returning these to Zappos. I ended up finding a size 10 on a different website, and the size 10 is a good fit for me. I think they're a bit big, but I figured I can just wear thick socks with them. I'd say order a full size up, especially if you want to wear more than one pair of socks - or like a heavy wool sock - with these boots.

Agree with other reviewers--order a half-size up (more if you wear very thick socks). They are easy to slip on, just keep the laces tied all the time. Really like how they look. Even though they are kind of an "industrial" boot, they still look pretty snazzy. Note on the color--I ordered the Sable Brown. It is not a light brown, really almost a chocolate but not as dark as the picture of "Nickel." It really is a nice color, just a bit darker than what is pictured. Also, the laces look like a coral in the picture but are less vibrant in real life--more of a dusty pink, I'd say. Still nice, just not what is pictured, again.

These boots have gotten me through the challenging Boston winter (2015), and I've been very pleased with them. They're warm without being stifling, have great support (like wearing sneakers), and are waterproof. I've found that wearing a normal thin trouser sock is just the right warmth (just make sure they are more snug fitting so they don't ride down). I highly recommend this boot!

These boots are one of the best purchases I have ever made. I run very cold, especially during the long and snowy Maine winters. This winter has seen record amounts of snow and daily temperatures at or below zero, day after day. I wear these boots through all of it -- sometimes for hours outside, and my feet have been toasty warm. For real. At first I was a bit scared that I had made a choice for style (they are so cute!) over comfort, but I actually got both.

I like these boots. The faux fur lining is very soft, warm, attractive and luxurious. The boots are comfortable. Also, for snow boots, they are cute. The quilting is well done and attractive. I do have two quibbles. First, the shoe laces are ridiculously long. Also, the tongue is only gusseted in the show part, not in the shaft part. I don't know why they did that. Because of this, you do need to make sure the laces are well adjusted at the transition between the boot and the shaft or there is a little gap.

These actually fit my miserable feet. They appear to be well made, sturdy boots. I just didn't love them. So back they go.

These are great! They are stylish, warm, and comfortable! I had to send the first pair back because they were too small. I typically wear a 6.5 but my toes were touching the front of the shoe so I'd definitely recommend a 1/2 size larger for sure, especially if you wear heavier socks. They are a bit pricey, but like all Patagonia, they are great quality and worth the extra cost.

I absolutely love these boots. They are warm, comfortable and I actually do not need to wear thick socks with them. They are also quite stylish. I can wear them with jeans or a simple dress. I was hoping to get the grey/purple but they were out of stock so I got the black. Still, I am very happy with these.

I ordered these for my daughter to wear to Colorado. She loves them. I ordered a half size larger than her normal shoe size based on other reviews and they worked perfectly.

These are the warmest boots that I have ever owned; they are warm and soft - a pleasure to wear! I had to get two sizes larger than I usually wear; the sizing seemed very unusually small. But it was worth it I love these boots. Thanks, Zappos.

I ordered up half a size per the reviews and I'm happy with the fit and feel. They are warm with even thin socks (and I'm a cold person) and grip fairly well on the snow. Happy with these boots!

Love these boots! True to size. I normally wear a size 9 in sneakers and boots and that is exactly what I ordered. I don't usually wear thick socks with my boots, so if that is a must for others then maybe consider a half size up? Very comfortable and are lighter in weight than I had anticipated. I've worn with leggings and skinny jeans so far and fit comfortably.

Although, snowfall has yet to hit the Chicagoland area, these boots have been put to great use for the cold weather. They are stylish, lightweight and extremely warm. Based on previous reviews, I ordered a 1/2 up and was pleased with the sizing.

After trying many winter boots, I finally found a pair that I love. They are comfortable and warm. They have a removable insole so you can put your own arch support in if you want. I am petite and the top hits right below my knee. They run a little small and I had to order a half size bigger.

I was looking for new snow boots to replace my old Sorels, which I have never liked because they feel like moon shoes - way too big, even in the right size. I got these and a pair of Sorel Joan of Arctics. The Joans fit exactly like my old Sorels, way too bulky. But these Patagonia's are perfection. The feel is just right, they are not too wide, they walk like hiking boots with good ankle movement, and they are really warm. I love them! I got the Olive Night and it looks a little more brown/tan in the picture than it does in person, in person it's a better color in my opinion.

These boots are my everything. I didn't want to spend as much as I did on them, but everything else was sold out in my size so I resigned myself to these - and now I'm so glad I did. I took them out in some nasty snow and cold today with only a thin pair of athletic socks underneath, and they kept my feet perfectly warm and dry. They're exceptionally comfortable, as well. Some boots are really rigid and chunky, and some boots are too flimsy; these are just right. They're just flexible enough, and I had great grip on the icy patches on the snowy trail. I've also tried them on with thicker wool socks, and they still fit. I used standard snow-boot wisdom and ordered a half size up, and I would recommend that if you're going to be wearing them with thick socks.

Make sure you order size up. I should have listened to all the reviews I read because now I have to return my boots. I love them. I know they will be warm. They're cute and not ugly like most waterproof boots. The usual size I wear were small in the ankle and there was no way you could wear a heavy sock with them although you probably don't need to. Just order larger.

I ordered several pairs of winter boots to try on and this one was a winner. I felt these were the warmest ones, and not stiff, unlike some other brands. I have average calves, and there was plenty of room in these boots. I know my feet will be warm this winter and I look forward to wearing these.

Very sturdy boot, very warm (almost too warm indoors) and also quite heavy. Should be good for deep winter snow trekking but not sure how longer walks would be. Scant arch support and not especially comfortable going up and down steps.
