I love these shoes. Too bad they don't fit. I purchased almost identical Frye shoes in size 8.5 last year (they had a higher heel) that fit great. I ordered these in an 8.5 - they were too short. So I returned them and ordered a 9. These are also too short. I noticed the ones from last year were made in Mexico. These are made in China. Don't know if that has anything to do with the sizing. Just wish that they fit as I love the style and color.

These are beautiful shoes--expertly crafted, glove-soft leather--so it is with great regret that I return them. They would be adorable (and slightly funky) on a young, tall woman with ankle pants, but on a middle-aged librarian they look too stodgy. I put them on many mornings, and wanted so badly to wear them, but I always ended up putting them back in the box.

I love this shoe, but as others have said the sizing is smaller than usual for Frye. I usually wear an 8 or 8.5, but the 8.5 in the Anna Oxford was way too small in the toe area. I just ordered a 9 which fits perfectly. The fit is on the narrow side, which I appreciate.

This is a beautiful, feminine oxford. The leather is exactly what I expect of Frye and the fit is perfect. I ordered my regular size 6 and there is enough room to wear a thin sock but I prefer to wear them without socks. There will be no break in period because they feel great right out of the box - no rubbing or slipping anywhere. I can't say enough about these shoes, they are beautiful, comfortable and full of style.

I absolutely love these shoes. I was hesitant to buy this style and dark brown color, but have no regrets. All my Fryes are comfortable, but these have been the best. I normally wear a 9 - in all Frye styles I've needed 9 1/2.

All the other Frye shoes that I have bought have fit perfectly in a size 7 - but the Anna 7 was way too small in terms of width. 7½ is the right width, but a tiny bit long (not a problem though). They are classy looking shoes, shiny enough but not patent, sensible enough but not too masculine in style. I am quite happy with the comfort level and glad that this (unlike the Carson model) does not make a lot of noise when you walk.

Comfortable enough (not mind-blowing or anything) but looked really boring and professional, not hipster trendy like I was hoping. Returned.

Loved it but I found them to run REALLY small. Normally I wear a 7 1/2 - 8; the 8 in these was TINY.

Beautiful, comfortable, classy shoes. Wore them with skinny jeans and a button up the first time, and yes, I did get called a hipster, but everyone also said they loved the shoes. I really like the soles, my last pair of fryes was just leather soled which is nice but these are leather with rubber inlay. So it has the look of leather but the grip of the rubber.

I loved these shoes and hated to part with them. The left shoe fit like a glove with no break in needed right out of the box, and they were the perfect color. Unfortunately the right shoe had a thick bump of leather on the inside that rubbed against my fourth toe next to my pinky toe. I knew that this would just cause an irritation no matter what so I chose to send them back. I am hoping the Melissa Oxford by Frye will fit the bill.

These shoes are very well made, soft leather, and leather soled. Beautiful color also! I hesitated because of the price, but for the Frye brand, I knew they would be well made. I am very pleased.

These are very nice shoes. I kept the Cognac. I realized that I do not need a second pair of oxfords. I need to find a replacement pair of black lace up boots that I foolishly gave away. I will be looking for those.

Anna Oxfords live up to the Frye reputation. Beautiful and soft leather - craftsmanship is flawless. My new favorite shoes!

These are a go too shoe, classic, vintage, preppy, casual, & dressy all in one. To new to see about break in time. Strange enough, I need arch support most all my shoes but with Frye shoes in the past. I can wear this brand all day. My first Frye boots (they are old) will need new soles soon and they will get it. I love them!

Love these handsome shoes. Comfortable out of the box but I can see that they're going to get even more so as I break them in. Just the right balance of sturdy and delicate. I can wear with pants or skirts. Good quality. I am hoping to wear these for many years.

I love these! The color is beautiful (cognac) and once I broke them in they are comfortable. I did get blisters the first time I wore them so I recommend only wearing them for short periods of time while breaking them in. Many reviewers said they run small but I ordered by usual 10 and it fit fine. As with other Frye shoes I have owned the leather needs to stretch out a bit.

I recently bought a pair of Anna's and Melissa's. I plan on keeping these Anna oxfords, because they are comfortable right out the box and hit my ankle at the perfect spot. I needed a cute, comfortable shoe for work that I can easily pair with my dresses & skirts. I love a pair of heels just like the next girl but these are practical for taking care of my feet. I love them so much I think I'm going to order another color!

Gorgeous oxfords but they run way too small. I love the look, feminine and versatile. As I ordered my usual size 10, I guess I need to order (gasp!) an 11 as there is no 10 1/2. One reviewer needed to go up a full size, so here goes!

I love this shoe. I am usually a 7.5 in Frye flats, but I wear an 8 in their boots. Due to the reviews saying it was narrow, I went with an 8, and it was the right decision. I love love love the shoe. It looks smart with a pair of ankle length slacks and sweater for work. I have been looking for a pair of Oxfords I can wear to work, and these are them. The only thing I would change is that I would be happy to see a pair of these without the distressed leather. I know Frye makes other oxfords out of better leather, but they are all higher on the ankle, and I really enjoy these being "low rise" . I'm still wearing them though, and plan to for a while.

In the interest of full disclosure I need to tell you I've only been wearing these around the house for about 1/2 an hour. That said, they fit like a dream. The box got here (on time!) and I put them on with the thin cotton socks I was already wearing. I've been wearing them while cooking and putting away laundry and things and they are super comfy. True to size and beautiful leather. A little tight out of the box, but I'd also been wearing sneakers all day so these oxfords were a big change. I'm wearing them to faculty development tomorrow with skinny jeans and blazer. 10/10 would purchase again.

Love! Seriously talk about sexy, yet perfect for being in the field. I'm a general sales manager and the standards for my wardrobe is high. These shoes are perfect for being out in the field with my team; on construction sights. Nothing crazy like dirt but on scaffolding, roofs and architectural offices! They are so perfect for all around dynamics in the field or office.

These oxfords were definitely a splurge but were worth it as part of my work wardrobe. They strike a nice balance between mannish and femme and are the perfect shoe when you're sick of boots in spring and it's not warm enough for flats. Super comfortable with or without socks. The taupe color is a lovely grayish brown that works with everything. Polished, professional, and cool.
