I really wanted to like these boots but felt that the material wouldn't be as durable as I'd like. The boots were already showing some scuffs when they were delivered, and I think this would only get worse with time. I would prefer something more smooth than sueded. The sole was very comfortable but the fit in the ankle area was tight near the bone and oddly loose at the start of the calf. I ended up returning them.

I have difficulty finding boots that fit my athletic calves and was pleased that these boots fit well - not too tight or too loose. I can easily tuck in skinny jeans and have a little extra room in the calves when I wear them with leggings. They are comfortable enough to wear all day, and transition well from casual to work casual attire. I wore them in light snow this winter and they held up well. The zipper angles forward on the boot, which does detract from the look a little in my opinion; however, I am willing to live with that in exchange for the fit and comfort.

I was surprised to find a lack of arch support as mentioned by other reviewers, but adding a basic insert helped tremendously. I've walked in these boots miles all winter and they've held up great. They're not the fanciest and they have always looked kind of dark grey, but walking in the snow, I can attest to the waterproofing and they're also lined so pretty warm. Most pleasantly, they've held up to daily wear walking lots of city miles and I can easily wear them again next winter.

Tried on 3 pairs of the Teva De La Vina, 2 pairs in size 6 and one in size 6.5. All three pairs fit differently -- definitely a manufacturing consistency problem. I finally purchased the size 6 in black. The black looks more like a dark slate grey, not a true black, but still attractive. I was looking for an attractive, but comfortable waterproof boot. After trying on Merrell Captiva Straps and Keen Delancy boots, the Teva De La Vina was the most comfortable. Thank you Zappos for allowing free returns! My 13 inch calves felt squeezed in all but the Teva boots, even when I went a half size up on the other boots. I haven't gone on any long walks with the boots yet, just walking around the house to see if its comfortable. I did notice that the reason for the comfortable shaft is the elastic is on the inside of the boot next to the zipper, which allows for easier zipping. However, the zipper tab is closer to the front of the boot and doesn't lay flat, so it is much more noticeable. End of shopping day, I'm glad I bought these. Will find out if they are truly waterproof and comfortable if weather goes foul again when I walk the dog for miles.

I really like these boots. They do really well in the snow and rain. They are not as wide at the top as the description suggests. I am an avid runner and so have muscular calves and these fit, but rather snug when worn with warm socks and skinny jeans. Additionally, the side, lower buckle broke off after the 2nd day of wear. All that being said, I still really like the boots, and are great for a stylish, yet hardy winter boot alternative.

These boots are super cute! A couple of the reviewers are right, the zipper should be moved more to the back but it's not a huge deal. These boots are comfy and really look great.

Nice looking boots! I bought them for an upcoming trip to a place with potential for rain and wintery conditions. I like that they have traction and are waterproof. The material seems like it can handle more rugged conditions, more functional than my other riding boots that are more about style and I want to take really good care of those (Timberland). The foot bed has some nice cushion to it. I like more arch support so I'll likely add an inexpensive insert to solve that. I have thin calves, but these look good, not too big when worn with skinny jeans, or leggings and tall socks. I am usually a 6.5/7 in shoes, bought a 7 in these hoping for the best, but they are a little too snug with my toes touching the edge even in thin socks. I'll re-order the boots in a 7.5 so I can wear thicker, warmer socks with them and be able to comfortably walk around all day!

The style and quality (at least, my first impression of the quality) of this boot are very nice, but I am returning it for two reasons. 1) The calf was tighter than I would like. I wanted to wear this under jeans, but that would not work. Also, the shape of the boot's calf was different from my calf, so it was tighter in the middle of my calf and loose in the top. The top probably is 16 1/2 inches around, as claimed, but the circumference seems to be less than 15 inches around until a couple inches from the top. There is a fold with extra width above the top strap. 2) The zipper was a little strange. It might not bother some people, but I felt like the zipper stuck out oddly in front. The zipper itself comes out in front a little (possibly depending upon the shape of your calf) and the zipper tag thing did not lie flat on the zipper. Instead, the leather on either size of the zipper forced it to stick up and out a little bit. You can see what it does in the straight on picture of the front of the boot.

Boots are great looking and fit rather well. I have narrow feet and these are good. After wearing them for several day long times they are stretching out just a bit. I think heavier socks will do just fine. They are water and winter proof which is good.

I spend my summers in Teva mush flip flops, and so I thought I would spend my winters in the boot equivalent. The boots are well made, I like the color and the style. But this is, unfortunately, not the boot equivalent. If they weren't Teva, I probably wouldn't make a note of it, but I was expecting a little more squish or support based on the brand and didn't get it. A note on the shaft: they're fairly wide in the calf, and also a couple inches shorter than I was expecting. While I'm sure they look great on some folks, on my long, spindly legs they looked a little out of place. Unfortunately going back.

These were too tight, the sizing was way too small and I immediately returned them. I tried these because my cousin has a pair and swears by them. (She has a more bohemian style than I do.) They had a strong smell of treated leather, not that nice leather smell. They looked as though they were a quality product and were waterproof.

These boots are very stylish and I do love them but they are not perfect. They do not have much padding in the foot bed that I would expect from Teva and the ankle is weird. Tight, but bunches at the same time. That being said, I kept these boots and feel they are a good investment. I hope for the price the waterproof leather holds up, we have had a particularly dry winter so I haven't been able to try out that feature. I have large muscular calves and can wear these with jeans tucked in comfortably and they are dressy enough for a skirt or dress. It took me a few tries to find a good pair of boots for over my jeans so if you have bigger calves but you don't want to buy big calf boots and swim try these.

These are more than decent for everyday use. At first they rubbed my heels uncomfortably but that seems to have dissipated. They are relatively warm, definitely keep your feet dry, and are weatherproof -- so wiping them off with a damp paper towel cleans them sufficiently, which is very convenient. However, the belt buckles (there are two per boot and they're just decorative) don't stay flat against the boot, they look sort of bent and sloppy after a few months' wear. Also, one of the buckles at the bottom is constantly coming undone. The hole got stretched out (without ever unbuckling or buckling it -- not sure how that happened), and the other holes are too small to be used. So these boots do have some minor quality issues. They are relatively roomy so fitting jeans, thick socks, etc. shouldn't be a problem. Larger calves should fit fine. I usually wear an 8.5 or 9 (usually a 9) and the 9s fit great.

Overall a nice boot. They were my husband's favorite of the several pairs I've recently tried. They look best from the ankle up, the calf fits really nicely and I like the strap details. From the ankle down, however, they seemed almost baggy. They also made my feet look bigger. Like others, I noticed a funny smell, but I think it would dissipate within the first couple wears.

These are good boots. I'm pretty happy with them after about 2 weeks. I'm one of the bunch who has a lot of trouble finding boots that fit my big calves. These do fit, but with jeans and socks, they are still a little snug in the ankle and lower part of the calf before they open way up at the upper calf. I don't think the adjustable straps really do much. But they fit great with tights and they are a perfect height to wear with skirts. The overall comfort is pretty good, the quality seems very good, and they are stylish enough. Not overwhelming in any way, but I'll take it! They do well as everyday boots, and I love the fact that they are waterproof as it's been raining a lot recently and I don't have to think twice about how they'll hold up. At first I ordered a 7.5, but exchanged them for an 8 because they felt tight in the side of the heel/ankle/lower calf and I knew I would want to wear them with thick socks. The 8 made a marginal difference - if you're between sizes, order up, otherwise, I'd say stick to your usual size.

These seemed nicely made and were comfortable to wear... but I returned because the shaft seemed too wide. It gaped open around my calves.

Very narrow so I won't be able to wear thick socks in the cold weather.

I ordered half a size larger than I normally wear and I still had trouble putting the boots on. When I did get them on they felt very tight.

Don't get these if you have narrow calves, they are way to big. too bad because the boot was super cute and very comfortable.

Very cool looking boot with matte leather, but it must go back. I couldn't zip it over my calf, even though the circumference indicated it would fit. The boot itself seemed true to size and felt comfortable.

Beautiful color. Style was too casual for my taste. Lots of space near ankle, boot did not feel snug. Comfortable foot bed but Merrel Captiva was more comfortable for my foot!

Runs tight - I couldn't even get one of my feet into the size 8 (which is my typical size). I would get a 1/2 size up. Looks cute though.

Nice looking boot with a more casual, rustic look. Seems to run small (I usually wear an 8, but 8.5 seems tight), but I think it's also because the overall construction and leather are very stiff. Lots of other reviews about how comfortable these are, but didn't work for me.

I fell in love with these boots and ordered them as a birthday gift last year. I knew Teva sandals wear really well and expected these to be the same. I wore them pretty much every day through the spring and fall, a total of about seven months of wear. These boots are really cute, super comfortable for walking, and are totally waterproof: I was able to wade through ankle-deep puddles without any water getting in. With a pair of wool socks they were warm as well. However, a few days ago I noticed that the heel of the boot had worn through and there was a small hole. If the boots had been less expensive I wouldn't have minded, but these were quite pricey and they really should have lasted more than seven months. I think my pair were defective and Zappos was really kind to let me return them after almost a year, but I probably won't buy Teva boots again.

The footbed was very uncomfortable, and my heel slipped up and down. Also, the zipper stuck out from the profile of the boot (in the front), making the boots look cheap.
