I love this coat so much I bought in 2 colors and would get it in more. Hood is removable. Very warm. Nice long coat to wear during the very cold MN winters.

I loved the coat but it didn't fit. I bought the XLG and the arms, shoulders and everything fit but I have large boobs and I couldn't zip it up. I couldn't say anything bad about the coat, but just be aware that it runs tight when ordering. If I had gone up a size everything else would have been too big.

My Montreal coat arrived yesterday. Several years ago, my husband bought me a Marmot coat which goes below the knee and is a little "puffier" than this coat. It is great for single digit days when I walk here in the mountains of Colorado where we live. I do, however, look somewhat like I'm wearing a sleeping bag, but who cares? I also have another coat of a different brand and it is pretty warm, but because it has an extra layer vest in the front and is not quality down, it weighs what seems like a ton while walking in cold weather. This Montreal coat is light and fits just right, even after I washed it on delicate (I always wash new stuff) I am about 5 feet and 110 pounds. Obviously, the medium I bought will fit differently from the tall model. This coat goes to the top of my knees, but that doesn't bother me a bit. I will say that with both my Marmot coats, I'm thinking I better not gain 10 pounds, especially around the hips, but let's just hope that doesn't happen. Haven't tested the warmth yet, but since it seems similar to the longer Marmot I have, I am confident that it will be warm. I love the hood. Since I walk, I like to see where I am going, so I removed the pretty fur, which gives me full vision of my surroundings, yet it sticks out just a bit in the front so that falling snow won't go right in my face. All in all, I think this coat is just right for me!

I looooove this coat! It is stylish, comfortable and warm! After reading reviews about it being small in the chest area, I wasn't sure what size to get. I'm small in the chest, but have broad shoulders and upper back. I am usually most comfortable in tops that are medium or 8-10 because of that. However, I decided to order the medium in this coat and decided that it, indeed, was too small in the upper torso area. I exchanged it for a large and that was much better. I want to be able to wear a heavy sweater or light jacket/blazer underneath. I live in Denver and this coat keeps me really warm while walking my dog in 30 degree temps. I haven't tested it in extremely cold temps, though. I love the soft fleece inside! The hood is great for me and not oversized. I have a North Face coat where the hood hangs over the front of my face and makes it impossible to wear. This Marmot hood fits wonderfully. I definitely recommend!

Loved everything about this jacket except the fit. I typically wear a small, but the small was too restrictive in the chest area ... and I am not large chested. I then tried the medium but it was overall too large so it was no longer flattering. Returned both ... very disappointed because this coat had everything I wanted. I have read similar reviews so I am just hoping Marmot will make a small tweak in the cut for the next version.

Fit is perfect! Soooo warm, not to snug around the waist. Hood really protects your head and face from the cold. Best coat I think I've ever owned:)

Coat is super warm, light weight, great for walks in cold winter weather. My size is between XS & Sm and found small in this coat to fit better.

I absolutely love this jacket. It’s the perfect length & very comfortable. I originally ordered the Medium based on reviews but I ended up with my regular Small size.

This is such an amazingly warm coat, very very cozzy. T I am returning it because it's longer than I expected. Sometimes I think the model used to sell the coat must be much taller than average. Target says how tall the model is, pretty cool! I am 5'5 and the length is just 3 fingers above the knee. I own the Montreaux coat which is the exact same coat but 6-7 inches longer. Tested in Montana subzero weather!! I need something a tad shorter and lighter. and different I guess! I weigh 125lbs. bust size is 36A. The medium looked better but when I reached for the steering wheel I felt it digging under the armpit. Also when I took a deep breath, the fabric pulled. I like to breathe! I ended up with a large in the Montreaux as well.

Love this coat. Re the sizing, I’m 5’2 1/2” and currently a bit overweight at 128 lbs. I wear 34DD bra and size 10 jeans (Lee). I don’t have narrow shoulders. Got my trusty tape measure out though, and by measuring around my bust I’m more like 36” and hips about 37”. I usually buy “small” in tops which fit well, but most reviews of this coat said to size up, so I bought the medium. It fits perfectly, but I won’t be able to wear heavy layers underneath, which for my uses is fine. I did not buy a petite because I wanted a little extra length and the coat falls about 2” above my knees. The waist falls at the right place for me even though I’m not long-waisted. The coat is beautifully cut to flatter the feminine form. I bought the navy blue color, and unlike some other reviewers did not find it shiny. The fabric is reasonably matte as far as “gloss” goes, and the color is a nice shade of navy blue - not loud or garish. The front two-way zipper is really easy to use. Please don’t be ham-fisted when you use coat zippers and you’ll usually find they give many years good service. The hand-warmer pockets are located perfectly and their zippers also work easily. The interior zip pocket is easy to access being just inside the front zipper of the coat. This interior pocket has a vertical zipper and the pocket is about 10” deep. The coat interior is lined with a lightweight silky-feeling, fleece fabric in the top half of the coat- very nice, and a smooth taffeta-like fabric in the bottom half. The inner sleeve cuffs fit easily without being too tight and sleeve length is perfect. My arms are average length I’d guess. What surprised me, even though the coat is fairly form-fitting and doesn’t look baggy at the bottom, was that I don’t have to use the two-way zipper to be able to sit down on a chair. The two-way zipper is a mandatory coat feature for me though. I like the fur trim on the hood and think it looks classy. You can snug the hood up by using the 2 elastic pulls, which are actually quite easy to locate while you’re wearing the coat, if you familiarize yourself to start with. The pulls have nifty cinches, which are easy to release too. My only quibble, which really isn’t a quibble, is that I like to travel light, and I think this coat probably won’t squish down into a really small bundle for packing. But it’s so nice I’m keeping it anyway. Bought the coat for when we venture to colder climes.

Absolutely love

This is a quality coat, and it's warmth is almost too much. I run hot, so I assume most would find the temperature to be perfect. The coat is so well made, very soft and cozy. I am 5'4", 120lbs & a 34D. I got a medium (one size up) so the coat would be roomy enough to fit layers underneath. It was still too small across the chest and shoulders with anything beyond one thin button down or crew shirt. I returned it for a large and now I can layer.

I am 5’2 and 160 pounds and the large fits perfect .

Finally, the winter coat I’ve been searching for! It’s incredibly warm but not overly bulky, slim cut but not uncomfortable. The lining is soft and matches the coat beautifully (unlike others I’ve tried with branding printed all over the inside). I am pear-shaped and this does hug my hips a bit, but I don’t find it uncomfortable and I don’t think it looks bad. I’m 5’6” 150lb and the medium fits well, hits mid-thigh. The navy was almost too dark so I exchanged for the black and it’s wonderful!

I love how warm this jacket is without the extra puff or weight. The lining in the sleeves and inside the pockets is super cozy. But like all jackets without a waist cinch it doesn't really give you any shape.

Bought it for our daughter that is outside all day with her hib. Her comment, "SUPER PERFECT AWESOME".

Awesome fit. Made the initial mistake of not believing other reviewers that it should be ordered a size up. Sent small back as I couldn’t even zip it up all the way. Medium is perfect. Soo warm. Hood is a little weird as it seems to go over my eyes a bit when up, but not a deal breaker. I’ll appreciate that during the snowstorms here. Crimson is a really nice shade of maroon.

If you wish to wear sweaters underneath, order one size up to avoid tightness under arms. Perfect winter coat!

I loved this coat but not the color, and especially didn't like the contrast stitching of the logo. I would say this coat runs small, especially from the waist up and under the arms, because the XS fit me wonderfully and I am usually a XXS petite or the like. If you're a petite person having a hard time finding a winter coat, this is a great option in my opinion. It is super cozy and not overwhelming and I loved the exterior and interior pockets, as well as the removable hood (which is not oversized so I bet it would actually stay up even when it's pretty windy).

This jacket is great. I am 5-9 and a size 10. I agree with the reviewers that say the jacket runs slightly small. I ordered a large and it fits with enough room for a sweater/layer. I could not go down a size as the chest would be too tight.

This is a great coat. It is warm (and I am always cold) and so comfortable that I can drive in it. It has a great fit and look.

Based on previous reviewers commenting on size, I went with a larger size than normal. At 5' 10" tall and 150lbs I purchased a large. It is perfect for fitting sweaters underneath and not too large that I am swimming with just a t-shirt. This coat is WARM. I wore it outside with just a t-shirt underneath and I was very comfortable in 30-degree weather. I have only owned and worn the coat for about a week, but if it holds up through a few winters it is worth the investment. Time will tell if that price tag is worth it.

LOVE this coat! Great fit, true to size and so cozy. It makes me want to stay out in the cold so I don't have to take it off!!!
