Nice white/almond color and style but the cut is narrow. I have small shoulders. Shoulder is cut like a small/med, not large. Cut could use an inch on both sides. Room in sleeves. Size up when ordering. Unless you are narrow- small busted-and no curvy hips. Length is great. Busty types may need to try another size or cut. I'm A 36D AND 5'5. Size L works with a light weight sweater but nothing else. Tighter in the bust and waist area. Hip area and length are great. It does hold your shape. Not boxy. This coat is cut more couture sizing. Need to size up to a XL. Hope it gives me the 2 inches I need. Body runs small if you are a medium build. Hope that works because the hood and collar have a great feel. Not bulky. Overall handsome, upscale town and country coat. Looks like what the model is wearing in the picture, right on! Made VERY well!

This jacket is fantastic. I did a try on of several similar coats (North Face, Outdoor Research, Mtn Hardware)in both medium and small to find one that would help me surive another windy cold wet winter in Norway. This jacket is the best. It's cozy, fleece lined and so warm. The hood fits ideally, right at the top of the head without blocking sight and falling off all the time bc it is too loose. Pockets are fleece lined too so your hands stay nice and warm. I love the dual direction zipper too. It allows me to keep the coat on when i drive (which I never do bc coats are usually so uncomfortable) and unzip updwards for a bit more flexibility. I am 5'6 and 128 usually a 2 or 4 and the medium gives me enough space for a sweater underneath. I love feeling like i am cozied up in a sleeping bag but not looking like it. Dig this coat!

This is a beautiful coat! Unfortunately, I'm a size 18/20 and this needed about 4 more inches to be able to zip it up. I thought maybe I could get away with a 2xl, but no such luck. If you're in the straight sizes, go for it! Plus ladies above a 14/16, it may not be for your

I'm very happy with this coat. I'm 5'5", 135 lbs, 36B and ordered size M; it fits *perfectly*. The body and sleeve lengths are great. For reference, I have an old North Face womens waterproof shell with the zip-in Denali Polartec jacket in size M; it's super-warm, but is too big in the chest and too long in the arms (it is 10 years old and North Face may have since updated their cut?). I considered ordering this Marmot in size S, but I'm glad I didn't. This coat has a rather slim cut; if you're sometimes on the cusp of size S/M, I'd recommend trying the M first (if your measurements are close to mine). The coat has kept me warm so far, but the frigid winter temps haven't hit yet. I like that the faux fur hood trim is removable; my field of vision is better without it. Overall, this coat is definitely a winner.

I have been looking for a warm down coat for 3 years now, and tried just about every brand and style. Finally I found this one, and I love it! The fleece lining is what won me over. It helps to keep the wind out and provides the extra warmth. I also love that it's not real bulky, it's soft and slimming yet warm. I still feel feminine and not like a marshmallow when I'm wearing it. This is a keeper!

I bought this coat in both a medium and a large. The large was way too big, but the medium was too tight in the bust. I sent them both back. I'm 5'3, 135 lbs. and a 32F, for reference.

LOVE THIS COAT!!! It is so soft and plush and warm without the bulk! As a woman of 5'7" and 225 lbs (fairly evenly spread out, slightly thicker in the middle size 16/18), 40" C chest, it has been hard to find a good quality, warm and not marshmallowy puffer coat that fit comfortably everywhere. I had a 3/4 length wool pea coat that was warm, but so incredibly bulky and was hoping this would do the trick - and it does! I can fit a decent weight sweater underneath and have it still fit well. And it's just so cute - great silhouette, too! Thanks, Marmot!

This is an excellent coat for winter cold. I am 5-8 and 135 lbs and the medium fits perfectly, including sleeve length, which is often a problem. The Steel Onyx is a very nice blue-gray color. The coat is dense but light weight, just like the Montreaux, which I also own. The length hits me about mid-thigh, which is just what I wanted (classic "car-coat" length). I wanted the warmth and comfort of the Montreaux in a shorter length for a little more ease of movement. I LOVE that both coats allow the hood to be removed as well as the faux fur trim. The hood itself is excellent, providing full coverage without blocking vision or making it difficult to move. The coat looks good on, not too bulky for the level of warmth. In 10 degree weather this morning, with a wind, I was warm and comfy. The coat is so comfortable that I even wear it on milder days when I don't really need the added warmth. Marmot makes excellent quality coats. I've had the longer Montreaux for several seasons, wear it frequently, and it still looks new. I expect the same performance from the Montreal.

This coat is very good quality. However, I got the XS, and although I am 5'2", about 100 pounds, and a 34B, it was too tight on my chest, even if I was just wearing a shirt underneath. I did not get a larger size because it would have been too long.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I got this coat to replace an old North Face long down coat that had run its course (I basically wore it out). I love it! It's mid-thigh, so it doesn't give me that wearing-a-sleeping-bag feeling. The lining is super, super soft. It is not very bulky, but still very warm (Boston winters--ugh). The fake fur is really good quality and soft, and it does not get in your face (the hood sits far enough back so I often forget the fur is even there). Sitting in the car, the back of the coat is just long enough to cover about half of my tush, so it's a good barrier between me and the cold car seat. It is not bulky or uncomfortable to sit on. The navy blue color is very pretty and a nice alternative to severe black. I researched all of the coats that were similar to the Marmot, and I am so glad I chose this one. I love it.

I absolutely love this jacket, I am 5' 10", I weigh 180, and a 36D. I usually wear a L sometimes XL. After reading the reviews I upsized to a XXL. This jacket was still too small. It was not nearly long enough for my arms, let alone I had no space but to wear a light fleece under it. The jacket itself was beautiful and so warm and cozy. But if you are a taller woman and have long arms. Mine stuck out about 6" when I lifted them.

I have a few winter down jackets but I wanted one that is warm, lightweight, stylish. My daughter actually has it so I knew I liked the look. It's not bulky and I have worn it in 30 degree weather and it kept me warm. It has a good hood that is removable. You can also remove the fur trim. Two interior pockets and form fitting style. I also like the length, which is below the butt to about mid thigh. The navy is a nice rich color.I took the medium after trying the small. It does run tighter around the chest but the medium fit well with a warm sweater underneath. For reference 126 lbs, 32D, 5'5 inches.

I have been looking for a black down coat for quite a while. I looked at several brands and styles and read all of the reviews here on Zappos. This coat is perfect in every way. Because more than half of the reviewers recommended sizing up one full size I ordered the Large (I am 5'7", 135 lb). The fit is perfect. The shoulder width and the sleeves are the correct length. I think the medium would definitely have been too tight under the arms and across the chest. This has just enough room for a shirt or light fleece underneath and is warm enough that not much more than that is needed. it is just roomy enough to give the down enough space to loft properly but is styled to still look sleek. The fleece at the neck, cuffs, pockets and bodice is a cozy welcome touch. The hood is just the right size (one of my pet peeves) to provide a bit of side coverage without falling so far forward as to obstruct your vision. I am very happy with this coat!

Best winter coat (no longer bleeds feathers)!! I bought this coat a few years ago and immediately loved it for many reasons: as a petite woman, it's hard to find a coat that fits well, this coat in XS was perfect; plus it is very warm; it's simple yet stylish; and best of all it has TWO inner pockets! The coat began to bleed feathers and down (from the felt area inside of the coat) shortly after I got it. But the good news is that Marmot replaced it for me and the new batch of coats from 2014 no longer has this defect, there is no problem with feathers and down covering my torso. So it is now officially the PERFECT winter coat. So happy Marmot listened to the complaints and fixed the problem!

This coat is super warm, stylish, flattering, and just the right length. I bought another very warm coat after moving from FL to the midwest last fall, but it's a lot bulkier/heavier and harder to move around in. I love the soft lining on the inside of the coat, pockets, and cuffs. I wear it almost every day. The only negative is the little feathers that sometimes poke out of the exterior fabric.

Love this coat, so pretty, so warm. I'm 5'1", and weigh 112. I always wear a Small, but not in this coat, I took a Medium. Unless you only plan on wearing a shirt, you need to size up. It's very fitted because of the down fill.

I bought this for my daughter who walks everywhere bc she’s in college. We have some really cold days and she texted me she really loves the coat. She said it was so warm, she loved how soft it felt against her face and she was able to fit big sweatshirts underneath. The length is great- not too long. She is 5’7 125# and she likes the medium fit best for extra layering. It is a flattering coat.

Highly recommend! This coat is keeping me warm as our Michigan winter kicks off. I love so much about it, but it’s truly in the details: two interior pockets, perfectly placed outer pockets with soft, cozy lining and the same lining in the body of the coat for a warm hug. Love that it isn’t cold when I throw it on even over short sleeves. Oh and did I mention it zips from the bottom too? This is my second purchase of this coat. Wore the previous one for 12 years and it’s still in great shape! Only replaced it because I wanted to size up.

I needed to replace by big, warm jacket and after 10+ years with it, I was convinced I wouldn't find another one I loved as much... But this one did the trick! I wore it walking along Lake Michigan in -10 degree windchills, and it kept me nice and warm. I love the two-way zip, and the fuzzy lining in the pockets keeps my hands warm. I tried on the Strollbridge coat as well, even though it has a cool magnetic flap over zipper, it didn't feel as warm. I'm a 38B on top and a size 14. The large fit fine, but I knew I would need to layer so I kept the XL. My only complaint is that the filling around the cuffs is going a little flat. Overall, I'm very pleased with it I put it on 3 months ago and haven't reached for another winter coat ever since!

I love this coat, but I bought the same one a few years ago and it was time to replace it. Unfortunately the fit is slightly different now. I am 5'2", weigh 118 and I expected the small to fit. However, it is now much tighter through the chest. The fit everywhere else was fine. Nice quality, stylish coat, but it had to go back.

This is the 5th Montreal coat that has been purchased by family members. Warmest coat for below zero temps. Size up one size to wear layers underneath. Washes beautifully. Lightweight, fashionable, variety of colors. Removable hood and fur if not wanting so much bulk around head

So glad I took previous reviewer's advice and sized up from Small to Medium! Like others I can comfortably wear a light jacket or sweater under this Montreal Coat. Zippered hand pockets are soft and deep, and there are interior pockets for phone and wallet. Zippers are easy. Hood protects head well from wind and snow blasts. 5 stars!

I love this coat. It is by far the nicest coat in my collection. It is substantial, has the softest torso lining & cuffs. The pockets are generous both inside & out. I'm 4'11 at 130# with 38" bust. The medium is perfect in every way. I got Nori color & it's beautiful and not olive.
