Great addition to my AE collection. I ended up sizing down a half size to an 11. I was able to talk to someone in the AE store. These shoes are made around a different last than other loafers. Fits like a glove.

Christmas present for my son -- a bit more than I planned to spend, but when he slipped them on, there was no doubt. Worth every penny!

These shoes are very high quality shoes. I needed dress shoes for my son and he wears between a 9 and 10 with a medium to wide width. The 9D fit him perfectly, If I went up a half size they may be roomier in the toes but would probably be too long. My son is hard to fit and these fit perfectly out of the box. He will need some breaking time as the leather is stiff, but he says they are very comfortable on. The leather is a beautiful color in the walnut, just as shown in the picture. The sole is leather also and the stitching is very nice too. It is a classic shoe of very high quality materials. If you are looking for quality Allen Edmonds shoes have that. I cannot say enough on how well made these shoes are. I would give these shoes five stars. They are beautifully made and definitely worth the money if you are looking for a great quality shoe to last a long time. I felt for a D in width that they were slightly narrower than expected but if I went to a wider width they would be too wide for my son after some breaking in. The arch support is moderate.

This is an extremely well made shoe with the craftsmanship evident in all aspects. The shoes looked too narrow initially but the fit was true to size. The shoes were comfortable from the start and did not need any break in period. I have only had the shoes for a couple of weeks however, based on the quality of the product from Allen Edmonds I anticipate their durability will be excellent. This is a nice shoe for daily wear or will pair with a suit. The price seems a little high but this is a quality shoe and the price is justified if you want a shoe that will last. Overall, excellent shoe. I have the walnut calf color but the darker colors give more versatility for more formal dress occasions.

These shoes look great and with a small exception, feel fine. They're still in the break-in period since I've only worn them one full day. But I'd say they're going to be fine. My only issue a concern is about the shoe feeling a little high right below my ankle bones on both feet. The tops of the shoe openings in that area are digging in just enough to be felt. The size 9 is correct as far as length and width. I do have some AE size 8.5's (Park Avenue cap toe and a tassel loafer) that I've had for over 20 years that still look good and I still wear. Using shoe trees, polish and being quality shoes are to thank for that. They are a little snug across the toes at the end of the day and, I guess because they are a half size smaller than the Lake Forest pair I'm writing about, I don't have an issue with the my ankle bones being contacted by the tops of the shoe opening.

Allen-Edmonds Lake Forest Loafers were very stylish. My husband very much wanted to love them but they run quite small. Styling is perfect for work but they were uncomfortable. Too narrow.

These are not bad shoes, though expensive for what you get. But I returned them for two reasons regarding the color. First, oxblood is red. With "blood" in the name maybe that shouldn't have surprised me but the pictures, on both my desktop monitor and my laptop, made the color seem darker and browner. Second, the toe area is much darker than the rest of the shoe; the pictures mask that multicolor effect, at least on my monitors. I ordered and received size 9.5. These were big, and although I might have been able to wear them had I not returned them anyway due to the color issues, I would recommend going a half-size up. I have other size 9.5 Allen Edmonds shoes that fit me well, so this apparently a problem with the last.
