Against my better judgement, I decided to give New Balance a try again, only due to the one-day shipping. Sadly, all the people (myself now included) that say these are too narrow are spot on. The length is fine, but people with wide feet have squarish forefeet. From the attached picture of my old New Balance tennis shoes and the MC806s, you can clearly see the toe box tapers oddly at the tip, much like a woman's pump. My old NB's have a more squarish toe box. I had the MC806 on for about 10 minutes in the house and I could feel the outside of both big toes rubbing and squishing over the outside of the sole when I walked. Seriously New Balance, you ruined your reputation as a footwear company for people with wide feet. Please don't be like me, if you have wide feet shaped like a duck's foot (or the box the shoes come in), don't bother with New Balance any more.

Still looking for a genuinely wide tennis shoe!!

No cushioning, hard as a rock. Hurt my left heel and could not play for 3 months. My old NB655 were much better.

Have worn the 806 style for a number of years for tennis. After trying the 608 style for pickleball I found although the exact same size and width they were almost a quarter of an inch shorter than the 806. I discovered this upon trying to place my custom orthotics in 608s. The orthotics fit perfectly in the 806. Needless to say my feet are now much more comfortable in the slightly roomier toe box. Will stick with the 806 style now so long as NB makes them.

I'm a fit 6'2" 240# Avid 3.5 Tennis player (2-3/week). (Who also has two new artificial knees). I have a wide "E" foot, but have used a "D"width in the past...because NewBalance always had a generous "toe-box"...not so anymore. I read the reviews, and moved to the "WideEE" with this order, and I am super glad I did - Great Fit -. I have only owned these new "806" for one month, so durability is unknown. For my size and weight, the factory inserts never work for me on any athletic shoe, regardless of make or price. I always buy a custom "Sole" insert from my Running Shoe store, heat them per instructions...and Bam - good to go. My inserts last thru at least 3pairs of shoes, and I buy new shoes every 2years. I own (3) pairs of New Balance shoes; all with "Abzorb Technology" (2#840) (1#806). Awesome.

The shoe fit well the first time I tried it on. It's the second pair of this specific model I've purchased. I wear an 11 EE, and the length and width were true. New Balance is my athletic shoe of preference, but I've purchased Nike and ASICS on other occassions. Although the shoe info is that the insole is not removable, I've removed it to fit in my orthotics and they work just fine.

I am a 72 year old male and have run for 40 years and started playing Pickleball 2 years ago. My friends recommended that I wear tennis/court shoes on the Pickleball outdoor courts instead of my running shoes. I have always worn medium-D width when wearing my running shoes. I found the medium-D width in the New Balance MC-806 shoes to be tight in the toe box. I returned the shoes and may reorder the wide width but have not done so yet. Very pleased with the service provided by Zappos

It fits my foot but the insole is really nothing and you will need to buy a gel insole so your feet don’t kill you after 3-4 hours on the Pickleball court. I wear them out quickly because I play 4-5 times a week. I also need a wide toe box and this shoe has it. So, I am buying the second pair because I haven’t found a better pair when the insert is replaced.

Either New Balance extra wide shoes are not as wide as they used to be, or my old feet are getting wider. Either way, these are the tennis shoes I always buy.

The length and width in the tow box were good but it was tight through the bridge of the foot. It also felt kind of heavy for tennis.

This is my go to tennis shoe. 4th pair of MC806 in about 5 years. Last pair the heel of the sole wore out playing 3 times a week. The only tennis shoe that sells 2E and 4E widths. These are 13 4Es and I think they fit better than the last pair that we supposed to be 4E but felt more narrow. Of course, especially with a shoe that is mostly leather upper, I won't really know how these fit until they are broken in in a couple of months. The only thing I noticed odd about these shoes is that the silver inserts in the back of the heel and either side of the heel sole are different. Don't know if this is just a cosmetic difference or a production mistake. Again won't know if this is a flaw that will be noticeable or if the sole will fain prematurely. Hope not. I love New Balance, the fact the shoes are NOT MADE IN COMMUNIST CHINA WITH SLAVE LABOR, and that they have always been good quality and value. Pic 1 shows heel wear. Pic shows how good the old uppers look. Totally bomb-proof! Pic 3 shows silver inset is different between shoes on new pair, no cross hatched pattern on the right. Don't know if this is just cosmetic.

As it was the only court shoe in a narrow width, I hoped it would fit. The fit was good--a little loose in the heal, though. It keeps the foot reasonable stable, but I'm over 65 years old, so not as much stress on the shoe as 20 years ago. If you have a narrow foot, give these a try.

It's difficult to find narrow shoes generally. Even more difficult with specific shoe types. For me, this is the only tennis shoe that is available in narrow width. Very happy with these shoes. The only negative might be that they wear our quickly. Then again, I play a lot of tennis. ;-)

I’ve now bought six pairs of these, going for seven. Great fit, support, stable on court and for everywhere use. Wish the bottoms were either thicker or didn’t wear out so quickly, hope NB addresses that soon. Other than this, these are the best i’ve Found and I will continue to wear these until they’re no longer made. Please don’t stop making these!!!

I play pickleball four days a week on hard courts. I pulled out the original insert and put full ortho inserts in. These shoes are excellent. Only con is the soles wear out pretty quick on the hard courts. Usually after 4 to 5 months. But I will put up with this for comfort and stability. I am also over 70 and not real stable sometimes on my feet but these shoes keep me from twisting my ankles.R

My husband bought these and he just loves them. He says that they are extremely comfortable, feels good on the feet, he does not have to wear his orthotics. They have very good support and well made. This sneaker is also designed very well.
I'd also recommend:
none, New Balance is the best for foot support, my doctor even recommends them.

The 806 is the only shoe I can wear. I have numerous foot problems. I buy 12 4E in this model and 11E in most other shoes. I wear very large orthotics and they fit in the 806. Most shoes, including other New Balance styles, are not deep enough to accommodate my orthotics, but these do very easily. Love the wide toe box for my Morton's neuroma.

I wear these to work in and play in. I have bought several pairs over the last few years. Love the shoes but the soles on the shoes come unglued or come loose in less than 6 months and the rest of the shoe still looks good. I tried sending pictures and complain to customer service but I was not getting any where with them. I will be looking for some other brand to try in the near future, hoping to get a better quality shoe.

Way too narrow, and toe box is much more pointed than my 1006 pair which is wearing out. Really disappointed. I used to be able to count on NB shoes fitting my wide feet
