I ordered both the Originals and the Tour to compare them. I love the green color and the style and really wanted to keep one of the pairs, but in the end I couldn't justify the price. Hunter only has a 12-month warranty and many of the reviews on Amazon complain about seams splitting, leakage, and unhelpful responses from the company that recommend "never using the boots in any type of flooding, whether it be 2" or 5" of water." What?? The Tours were much more comfortable, but made much more cheaply, so it's very surprising that they cost the same as the Originals. The Tours are made in China, and the Originals are made in Indonesia -- which isn't necessarily bad in and of itself, but when I looked closely at the boots themselves, neither pair oozed a quality that seemed to justify their price, and the Hunter website didn't contain any reassurances beyond a 12-month warranty. Really sad to send these back, because they are very cute. I might try and find a vintage pair that was made before the quality of construction decreased.

I live in Southern California and have only worn these boots less than 20 times. Today I was on strike in the pouring rain and will continue to be striking outside in the rain. I walked through a puddle and my feet were instantly wet! I couldn’t understand since I thought I was wearing expensive, durable Hunter rain boots. Once I had a chance to investigate, a saw a HUGE slit through the bottom of the right boot! I have to march in downtown LA with all of the LAUSD teachers today in pouring rain and now my boots are useless. For $150 they should last longer than 15 wears!

I ordered the tour instead of the original boots due to the reviews stating these were better for petite women. I have skinny calves and I'm also short so sometimes it can be tricky for me to find boots that fit right. I ordered my normal shoe size (7) and when I tried these on, they were gigantic. I'm a true 7 so these definitely run a whole size big. I sent them back and got the size 6 instead. They fit much, much better! They are comfortable, very stylish (esp with boot socks!), and aren't too heavy or bulky when you walk. These are exactly what I was looking for and I'm really happy I went with this style instead of the original. I would definitely recommend!

Good fit but I do wish I ordered maybe the 6 instead of the 5 since the 5's are slightly small but workable. I'm short (5') so this length works very well for me without cutting into the back of my knees.

I bought my boots in Nov of 2014 and being in California during the drought I may have worn them 10 times at the most. This last week we had a big storm and realized that my sock was wet after wearing the boots. After further inspection, I noticed they had cracked by the heal on the side of the boot. I would expect more durability out of a money and tax rain boot.

Finally, a Hunter boot that looks great on petite girls! I discovered these through a petite girl blog discussing the pros/cons of the packable Hunter boots vs the kids version (since they fit women size 7 and under). I am 5’2” and 115 pounds with an athletic build for reference. I’ve tried various versions of the Hunter boot, and they have always looked like I was wearing giant fisherman boots (tall boots) or Santa’s elf (short boots). The packable ones are a bit taller than the kids, but shorter than the adult original boot. They are also slimmer fit than both the kids and adult original. They are lightweight which also helps us petite girls walk in these boots and they have an elegant slim look that looks great with skinny jeans or leggings. If I had it 100% my way, I wish these could have been 1/2-inch shorter, but they were still a slam dunk in my book! If you are under 5’4” and don’t have large calves, buy them!!!

I ordered the tour tall rather than the original or adjustable because I have supper skinny calves and many reviews said this was the boot that fit most snugly at the calf. I was pleasantly surprised that the top was fairly fitted to my calf. Almost all reviews say if you're a half size, to size down. I'm an 8.5 (9 in things like hiking or running shoes where I need a lot of toe room) and I got an 8. Even with thin socks, my toes were still hitting the front of the toe box. I ordered the 9 instead; the shaft of the boot is a little wider (disappointing, because the snugness of the 8 was ideal) but my feet fit a lot better. I can wear these with any kind of socks (I prefer a thick wool) and probably have room for those Hunter liner socks (whereas with the 8, there was no way). I'm 5'9 and the height of the tour is ideal. The navy matte is beautiful. If you want to invest in expensive rain boots, I'd definitely give these a try because they do look fantastic.... if you have the feet and calf sizes that are an ideal match.

I love these boots. They are very easy to fold up and transport, and are very lightweight and comfortable. However, the description lists the circumference at 15 inches, and I am unable to find a place on the boot where it is greater than 14 (I ordered a size 9). Unfortunately, they are too narrow for me and I will not be able to wear them over pants or with socks, so they will have to go back.

I’ve noticed a lot of people reviewing this boot don’t seem to realize that this is the original TOUR not the original TALL, and are therefore complaining about Hunter’s quality going down, the flimsy feeling of the rubber, and how thin and floppy they are. They are supposed to be, because this is the PACKABLE version of their original boot! If you want the original, classic, very sturdy and less flexible hunter boots, go for the Original Tall. I have those and they’re great too! But I gotta say- I really love these packable ones! Compared to my Original Talls they are much lighter weight, the shaft is a half an inch shorter, and the heel is shaped a little differently. Because of the pliable rubber, the ankle has a lot more freedom of movement. Even though I purchased these as a packable pair, I can see myself reaching for them over my original Talls on rainy days because they just feel less clunky over all. I am a size 8 in my Original Talls, and the Original Tours I am the same.

Definitely the style for you if your calves measure 13 in. & below. While go for the adjustable back straps if you have bigger legs. I'm petite, 5 ft., and the height of the Hunter Original Tour is just right. It doesn't cut at the back of my knees. The fact that its rubber is made softer that it's packable & foldable, these boots are lightweight & feel comfortable. It hugs perfectly around the legs with or without the welly socks. Looks nice and fashionable. I love the idea that you can work these boots for snow & rain. In fact, I'm sold out that I'm buying the short one for my hubby. Hope it works for him.

I tried the short hunters and didn’t like them. I was going to order the original talls but the reviews for these seemed to work better for me. I’m 5’5” and these are a little tall on me, like they hit just behind my knee cap, but it doesn’t bother me. Perfect amount of room on the leg are, a little large in the ankle but I don’t care, they’re perfect and so cute!

I agonized over what style Hunter boots to purchase, and finally decided on the Tours for the following reasons: 1) The climate I live in (mostly hot/humid with very mild winters but long periods of rain and flash flooding). 2) The type of wear they would get (cycling and lots of walking). 3) My preference for comfort over other considerations, like durability (although these certainly do not seem flimsy, delicate or cheaply made). I am so pleased that I ordered the Tour (in matte black because I am boring ;)). These are incredibly light and flexible while retaining their shape, and even have a slight stretch/give for when putting them over jeans. I can easily walk in them all day without fatigue, and they are even soft/flexible enough for commuting on my bike. They are actually very stylish and look completely respectable outside of a pig pen. They are very close fitting on the calf, so if you have a well developed calf these would not be suitable. I also find these get a bit hot in the summer because there is not much space around my calf for the heat to escape. In saying that, these are not insulating so they might not be suited to very cold climates. I bought true to size (I almost sized down based on reviews but the 38s were out of stock) and I am glad they were - the 39 is perfect. I am actually a 38 in shoes designed to be close fitting (ballet flats, pumps) but like to size up for boots/work wear/sneakers to accommodate thicker socks and different fit preference. So depending on how you look at it, size up or stay true to size, but I would not recommend sizing down unless you specifically want a tight fitting gumboot. After all, these are gumboots and are meant to fit like gumboots not ballet flats/sneakers/pumps etc.

These boots are definitely worth the money in terms of design and style. I usually wear a size 8-8.5 in shoes and the size 8 Hunters fit me well. I have narrow feet so I was worried about the width, but they fit my feet really well with my thick Smartwool hiking socks. The boots appear to taper at the top and come in at the ankles, which makes them very flattering. I have skinny calves so usually rainboots gap like crazy around my legs, but the Hunters look really polished and well-fitted. These boots are also really light in comparison to other boots I've had. I got the black color and I think it looks very classic. I like the matte finish and understated design.

I ordered the Huntress originally because I was worried about my calves fitting in a pair of Hunter boots (about 14-in around). The Huntress was way too big for me in the heels, so I sent them back. I got these Tour ones, and I love them! I love the way they look and how they fit. My calves fit in them with some knee high thick socks and skinny jeans; it's snug but I can still fit a finger between my calves and the boot. I like how these are lightweight and easy to walk in. I also travel for work, so it'll be interesting to see how these fare from being packed and carted around the country. My one concern is how long they will last. I am hoping I can get a few good years of use out of these, but I am skeptical.

These are terrific. I have a pair of "regular" heavy duty Hunters, but they couldn't go with me on long haul trips. These are perfect. Lightweight, and roll tight to fit into my bags. They look the same as regular Hunters but are softer and lighter. I think that they are a wee bit narrower around the calf, so a thick wellie sock might not work They are lined so you don't really need them anyway. Love them.

If you’re a college student looking for a durable pair of shoes that will last, these Hunter boots are for you. These boots are waterproof, sturdy and great for fall, winter, and anytime it rains. Because of this, they transition very easily through the seasons, making them a great investment for the amount of wear and the quality. I ordered this “Tour” style because of the flexibility of the shoe. If you didn’t like the stiffness of the “Original” style boot, you may like this one better. These boots feature a less heavy and bulky design compared the “Original” style. This feature makes it possible for you to roll these up and pack them away if the rain goes away. The lighter weight and compactness also makes trudging through the snow and rain a lot more enjoyable. It is easy to pack them up in your backpack between classes in the provided drawstring bag. These features can be very practical if you are a college student or just someone who wants to have those options available. If you want to have a stylish wet/cold weather shoe, while still being comfortable, these are a great option. These boots come in as many colors as you can imagine, to fit your own individual personality and style. The have many bright colors, as well as many neutral colors. Whatever color you choose, Hunter boots are such a classic piece and will remain in style for a long time. I am sure you will receive many compliments when you wear them. These boots do however run large and I would suggest going a half of a size to one size down for your best fit. One of the drawbacks about these boots includes temperature regulation. When walking through snow, you many find that they can get a little cold in the winter because of the lack of insulation. This can be solved by purchasing a pair of boot socks made especially for Hunter boots. These socks fit right in your boots and can be removed if your feet begin to feel too warm. I think this feature adds to the versatility of the boots. The ability to remove the socks to fit both warm and cold temperatures is what allows them to transition between seasons so easily. Despite this drawback, these are a great pair of shoes. If you are thinking of purchasing, it is important to consider the quality this brand has to offer. I hope you will find that the durability stands for itself when it comes to any pair of Hunter boots, as they have lasted well for me the past Fall and Winter. The style and the comfort I have experienced with these boots are second to none. In fact, I am not surprised that many other Hunter boots owners are satisfied. I truly hope anyone who purchases these boots will experience the same satisfaction with their boots.

I've purchased Hunter boots for myself and my children and, until this point, have always been impressed with their quality. This boot, unfortunately, while "Hunter" is not the same quality. The material is thinner than my other pair and the boot collapses/wrinkles very easily. See photograph. Wish I could return but, alas, took wearing them to find this problem. It's unfortunate when popular companies cut corners for profit.

I'm 5' tall and these are perfect. I tried on the original tall Hunters in a store and they felt gigantic--way too tall and very heavy. They looked like some kind of swamp shoes. These Tour Packable boots are amazing. The height is perfect and they're so light and easy to walk in! I've never had rain boots this light. They run a little big in terms of shoe size. I'm a true size 5.5 in other shoes, but the size 5 in these fits very well with room for thick socks.

I love these boots. This is my second pair. My first ones (exact same ones) lasted almost ten years. I am hoping these do also. These are good for wet or muddy conditions. Not meant for winter/cold. I like these over the original or other styles (as I have tried them on) because they are light weight, when you sit down, they don’t cut into the back of your legs like the other styles, they are bendable and packable. Great staple purchase!

I have these boots in black and red. I tried the original hunters and the calves were just too big for me and felt very chunky on my feet. I gave up on Hunter then I tried these a few years later and they are absolutely perfect. They are light. They fit my small calves beautifully. I love love the matte finish. I get compliments every time I wear them. They are comfortable enough to wear all day. They're the bright side to rainy days!

I desperately needed rain boots as my job includes a 1.5 mile walking commute and we've had serious deluges in Seattle this winter. After spending an entire day at work with wet feet and jeans, I decided to pull the trigger on a pair of Hunter boots. Pricey, but worth it in the end. I read the reviews on the Hunter Originals and the Hunter Original Tour boots, and went with the Tours as people mentioned that they were lighter and easier to walk in, the latter being really important to me. Plus, the purple boots were on sale and I love purple, nice! I have a narrow heel and wide forefoot, and the boot fits really well. I have skinny calves (13") so these boots have some room, but not too much looks-wise. I'm able to wear them for my walking commute, and also all day in the office. They look nice with skinny jeans or leggings and an oversize sweater. Biggest positive is that I haven't had to suffer through wet shoes and socks since I got these boots. Huge plus! Sizing: I got a size 8 and it fits perfectly. For comparison, in Keens I wear a 9, in Naots a 39, in Rockport Cobb Hill an 8.5, and in Clarks Artisan an 8.

I clomped around in my black matte Hunter Original Tall for years until they finally died. I'm 5'2", so I wanted a style that would fit better the next time around. I tried the Hunter Kids, but they were a tad too short. I gave the Tour a try. Perfect! At first glance, I couldn't tell much of a difference between the Original and Tour... but they are very different, once worn. Much lighter, a tad shorter (no more rubbing against the back of my knee), a bit narrower. Subtle but significant differences that look and feel better on a petite frame. I was going to try a fun color but went back to tried and true black matte. Glad I did as that's more my style. Also stuck with size 7 (I'm between 6.5-7). I'd rather have more wiggle room. I was initially unsure of the Tour's slightly taller heel than the Original, but didn't notice it when I wore them comfortably one rainy day for about 8 hours. I only noticed they were lighter and so much more flexible than the Originals. The packability is a bonus. Crossing my fingers that they last as long as my Originals as the rubber is definitely thinner. Love them!

I ordered both the Tour and the Original for comparison. I heard that the Tour would fit smaller calves/shorter legs better, however, I was concerned being that I heard they were not as solidly constructed as the Original. For reference, I am 5'3" 100 lbs and my calves measure about 13" at the widest point. For me, the Tour was a significantly better fit, not only in shaft circumference, but also in shaft height. The Tour had a smaller shaft circumference as well as a slightly shorter shaft height (which was better for me as the boot did not brush up against the back of my knees like it did with the Original). The Tour really was a totally perfect fit for my body type and size. There was a little space between my calf and the boot (wearing leggings), but it was not gaping like it was with the Original and I considered it to be how a boot should ideally fit. With Hunter in general, it is true that you should size down. They do not carry half sizes. I am a consistent size 6, and I sized down to a 5 based on others' reviews. I was glad that I did. The 5 fit me perfectly, and there was even room to fit the Hunter liner or a thick boot sock comfortably. In terms of the construction, the Tour is much lighter (because it is made for traveling and packing). The rubber does seem to be a little bit thinner than the Original and the seams are not as layered, hence the lower weight of the boot. However, the Tour is still of very high quality. The seams appear to be sealed well and I do not foresee having any issues with this boot. I really wish the Tour was at least a little cheaper than the Original since there is less material, but they do include a Hunter logo travel bag which compensates I suppose. Overall, I am very happy with the Tour. If you are debating between the Original and the Tour, I would suggest ordering them both to see how they fit on you, if you can. With Zappos' fast delivery, you could easily have a refund for the pair you decide against within a few days if you're quick with the return.
