Was reluctant to pay this much for an umbrella but it is the perfect size to keep in my bag all the time -- nice, small, and light but sturdy enough to hold up to Chicago wind

Perfect fit and so easy to carry.

The umbrella is durable has its own case and should last for years.

Great size. Fits in the glove compartment and great for the says you didn't know it was going to rain!!

Small, lightweight, and perfect to pack for a trip. Well made, and although it's somewhat expensive, I expect it will last me for decades.

I've dealt with Zappos for a number of years. Their service is exceptional. I only wish they offered furniture, books and all other retail needs. I would deal with them for EVERYTHING!

Overall, excellent build quality, as is expected with any Tumi product. However, the first of these umbrellas I owned spontaneously broke. The canopy inverted and the latch mechanism ceased to work. Despite that, I purchased another and haven't had any negative experiences with it thus far.

Years ago, I bought this small size Tumi umbrella from Zappos. I loved it. It was stylish and light-weight for carrying in my purse. But it broke from the wind within the first few years. Today, I received from Zappos the medium size version (now out of stock). It arrived BROKEN (or with a defective piece, I'm not sure). Earlier today, Tumi gave me its typically wonderful customer service, and I will be getting a refund. What I didn't realize until just now (the reason I am taking the trouble to write a review) is that one broken corner actually makes this umbrella DANGEROUS. The piece sticking out from the break is super sharp and at head level. I guess I should be glad that I did not get an unbroken umbrella. Then I would not have been on notice that a strong wind could make it dangerous.
