First to give context, I wear a 38 European size in Dansko and Naot sandals, which is not an 8 in American sizes, its a 7.5. The same goes for Mephisto. So the "8" in this sandal is a 38 which translates to a 7.5. I wear a 7.5 in American sized sandals. I have a high arch and slightly narrow feet but not enough to warrant narrow sizing. So I struggle to find sandals that I don't swim around in. These were perfect for me. the straps fit just right. The footbed is nicely formed with good arch support, like an upscale very pretty Birkenstock. This is a great city walking travel shoe as it has both gold, grey and black straps. Very nice with jeans and a black t-shirt. I don't recommend it for wider feet, in that case there is the Sydel, with the two adjustable straps and the little rhinestones on one buckle.

Reading the other reviews, I now know why these shoes fit me so perfectly--I have somewhat skinny (but medium width) feet, and most sandals are too loose and floppy for me. If the fit is right, you can put these on right out of the box and walk forever in comfort. I have other Mephisto shoes, and the length is the same for all of them. I am a size 8 and do not ever have to try them on first--they just fit! Not to mention the beautiful (and classy) variation of colored straps.

They are so cute, but I had to return them. Only the top strap is adjustable, and the rest are way too tight. My foot borders on narrow, and the other four straps are very tight.

This is my third pair of Mephisto sandals. These are comfortable right out of the box and require no breaking in. I can walk all day in these sandals and my feet never hurt. For a comfort sandal these are very cute. Perfect with jeans, shorts or skirts. The orange is fun and adds a great pop of color for the summer. I've gotten several compliments on them already and have only worn them a couple of times.

I bought my first pair of these sandals about a year and a half ago and somehow they're always the ones on my feet. I've been stopped so many times by people who admire them (this pair had the pink strip). I decided that I better get myself another pair before they were discontinued, so I recently bought the Platinum version. The sandals are totally comfortable and good for walking -- which is why they're always the ones I go for. They're stylish and can be worn for a variety of occasions. Mephisto is certainly pricy -- but I've crossed the line and decided that for the amount of time I wear them, they're worth the cost. Also, they hold up well -- my older pair are hardly showing wear.

I have lower back pain and I like to walk. I have difficulty finding shoes that both give me the support I need and are good-looking. I have two pair of these shoes and will be buying a third. They not only are the best in this style for back support, I also get compliments, even from strangers, who think they're good looking. Mephisto makes the best shoes for back support!

Arch support is the most important for me and I feel this shoe gives me that. My test is that I can walk the mall in them!

Cut, sexy, and sassy, like me. I just lost a great deal of weight (87 lbs) and dropped a shoe size. With a buckle, I can still wear these shoes. I can spend the day in these sandles, no pain. I gt so many compliments.

These sandals are comfortable and good looking. There was a short break in period of one or two days and then I've worn them all over, including a weekend of sightseeing in NY.

These sandals are cute and very comfortable. I always find that Mephisto shoes fit well and have arch support.

The Huleda is very comfortable . I wear them all summer. They are actually my second pair. Enough said.

These sandals are the best ever. I have been looking for white/metallic sandals for the past two summers with no luck. I decided to splurge on these, and it was worth it! They are adorable and so comfortable. There was no break in required - just put them on and go. No blisters, no discomfort. I am a 7.5M and the 38 fit perfectly.

These shoes are incredibly comfortable and so stylish!! I wore them every day on a 10 day trip where I walked all day long - no sore feet and received so many compliments! Love them!

Mephisto is a great go to shoe for comfort; however, the straps are not as flexible as some other Mephistos I own. I think it would be great if you could adjust it with velcro for a little more comfort, that's why the four stars. I'm still keeping them, because I think over time, the straps will get comfy. Awesome looking shoe!

Love these shoes. Sp comfortable. And more stylish than most for this style. The patent leather makes them look more feminine.

Cute shoe! I bought the pink ones. The straps are NOT adjustable, except the one at the top with the buckle. Keep that in mind when you order. I wear an 8.5W, and bought a 39, my usual size in Mephisto. They fit great. The heel cup is simply magical! Perfect for support. The first day of wearing the shoes, the straps were snug. I was concerned, but toughed it out. The second day, they'd relaxed or stretched or molded to fit my feet. Whatever they did, it worked! Cute and comfy now. The footbed is NOT squarish at the toe. The outer bit tapers more than another pair of cork footbed Mephistos that I have. If your foot is wide and very square, you might find your outside toes are near the edge. Go for it, and enjoy.

Attractive yet comfortable. Great because they can go with dressier or more casual attire. My local shoe store had sold out of these, so I was glad to find them on Zappos.

I have a narrow foot. 10aa but I can usually go smaller in sandals. Upon reading other reviews I ordered an 11. The footbed fits perfectly & is so comfortable. The straps are somewhat loose but with the top adjustable one these are going to work for me. I have been looking for a neutral colored sandal for some time now. I love the colors (taupe, gold, red, etc). I think they will go with everything. This is my first pair of Mephistos & I'm very happy with them! I'm planning on wearing them a long time.

Easily 1 size smaller fit than marked. I own few pairs of Birkenstock, and Birki's in 42 (11US) and these fit even smaller. Luckily I tried them in store before ordering (even though Zappos is excellent in shipping/returning) and was sad to find, no way I can have these(as they don't come in 12US/43EU). Gorgeous sandals though and very well made!

Although I've not had the chance yet to wear this shoe except for the few moments I tried them on when I received them I can tell you that I am so looking forward to next spring and summer to really show them off. I have been a huge fan of Mephisto sandals for a very long time - especially the "Helen" style but sometimes I just prefer something other than a thong sandal. The colors in this particular style are great and although a bit different for me since I generally prefer black or dark brown Mephisto did a great job in combining all of these neutrals with that little pop of color. The fit seems great and true to size...not to be missed even at this price point. As a matter of fact, I also ordered them in the black combo color.

My first pair of Mephistos, but I will be returning for more. They are one of the most comfortable shoes I have worn.I have what I like to call "princess and the pea" feet-shoes have to be comfortable when I first try them on, and these were. So cute, too.

I wear an 8 1/2 in American shoes and a 39 in most European shoes, and these fit me perfectly. My feet are a medium width, although perhaps slightly on the narrow side of B, but narrow enough to call for a narrow shoe. The straps fit my feet perfectly. The shoe is stylish, comfortable, and has great support. I do think however, with the wide crosswise straps, it would be more attractive on someone with a fuller profile, less angular, foot than mine.

Way too wide for me. So bummed I have to return them. All straps were about 1/2 inches above my toes and foot except for the one I could strap down.

Cute strappy sandals, but the sole offers no flexibility. Not a good match for anyone with fallen arches; too much pressure on the upper foot from the strap nearest to the ankle. Must return.

Beautiful shoe and I wish I could have kept and worn it. Influenced by the earlier reviews I tried 2 sizes -- 1 larger than my usual size and the straps were much too tight and the overall length just slightly too short. Next size up (2 larger than usual) was great in total length, but the arch location was wrong -- closer to the toes than my natural arch. Also the straps in that size were slightly loose for me. Between the straps and the arch, I thought that walking in these shoes would become uncomfortable and irritating, negating the very reason I was buying Mephisto in the first place. But, oh, they are pretty. Could be fabulous for the right foot.
