I'll first note that this is my first pair of cycling shoes, so I don't have a basis for comparison. Altogether, I think the shoes are great. I like that they come in wide, and they are comfortable and easy to get on/off. The only complaint I Have is that the tongue can rub against the skin of your leg if your socks aren't high enough, causing a wound to form after repeated cycling.

Excellent shoe! I have wide feet so I went with 46 rather than 45. They're quite comfortable and do make a difference in my spinning class.

I have always had issues buying shoes. I am a US 14 and need a wide toe box. My toes spread a lot when I step so often shoes cut into my big toe(s). ALL my local bike shops don't even come close to selling my size. I usually don't have any luck with online shoe shopping, but I took a chance and ordered these Shimano SH-R088LE Wide Fit Road Shoe. I am very pleased! fit right out of the box (size 50 EE). It took a bit to adjust the cleats for my Shimano 105 PD-5700 SPD SL Pedalpedals. Once I adjusted the cleats right, I was off and riding! The ventilation is great and I still have room to wiggle my toes! I am so glad I took the chance. Plus it's Shimano so you know you have quality equipment!

This is a great cycling shoe. The all black is extremely sharp and is well-ventilated for my ride. Cycling shoes tend to run short and narrow. I had to order a size up on the length and the width. Overall, these shoes are great.

I purchased my first pair of biking shoes. I received exactly what I ordered and the package arrived ahead of time. I had a reason to call customer service and was completely impressed with their helpfulness and follow through. It is obvious Zappos, top down and bottom up, have a company culture based on satisfying the customer and making the buying experience a pleasure.

Great shoes! I upgraded to these from an older cheap pair of Shimanos. The ventilation in the front of the foot is way better, so much so that I needed to tape the vents up while riding in the winter. Having giant, cartoonishly large and narrow feet, I bought the 14.5 and they fit great.

I bought these for my husband who has a wide foot, and didn't fit into any of the cycling shoes at our local bike store. He loves these, and said they are very comfortable for his wide foot. Also, the price was better than any of the shoes at our local store.

I always wear 45 (10.5) wide - except in these, where I have to move up to 46 (11.2) wide. Once I get the right size they're excellent.

Great sneakers, love them. Mainly used for soul cycle, just buy the screws from them for $ 25.00 & after every class they tighten them up for you - did it for about a month but so far so good.

The wide toe-box has giving me the comfort I need for the long rides... the shoe is durable with minimal give at the arch... highly recommend!

These Shimano road shoes are a wide width which makes them a lot more comfortable. I normally wear a 9 1/2 EE and these shoes fit well.

On my!! not only did I order on a Satruday and shoes appeared on Monday, but they are perfect. Hubby has wide foot that burns when we ride more than 30 miles or in hot temps. This shoes is ventilated everywhere and also is very supple against his duck foot. Perfect shoe, perfect service.

These fit great, I went with the wide version due to my need for 4E shoes normally. It is great to not be crushing my feet for the first time cycling. They work just fine with speed play cleats/pedals. They fit a tiny bit smaller than the size but not by much, definitely do not go half a size up in size if you are in between. They are not carbon bottomed shoes but they are plenty stiff if you are not racing - I previously had carbon but do not notice a difference in power transfer. These are not the greatest shoes for cycling ever but at the price - they are really good.

I bought these looking for a SPD-SL shoe that was wide enough for my custom orthotics. Not a shoe for racing, but good enough for commute and rec riding.

These are inexpensive shoes - relatively speaking - with a ratcheting strap. I have not experienced durability. One shoe feels a little pinched on me, but maybe that will work itself out. Overall they are good for the price. By the way, if you are putting the two-bolt cleats on, you will definitely want the spd adapters so you can stand and walk safely.

These fit right the first time and appear to be very well made. I have wide feet and have had trouble getting the straps to fit on other brands. These are working well for me.

This is one of the few cycling shoes I can find that fit well and keep inside the $150 budget. Shimano has always made a great shoe and this is no exception. I grab these for the wide fit option and the ratchet closure! All around great shoe that is comfortable after 75 miles and easy to adjust on the fly. The sole could be a little more stiff, but then we're into carbon fiber and out of the $150 range. They still transfer power extremely well though, don't let that stop you!

This is a very nice recreational road cycling shoe. A good choice for someone new to road clipless pedals. The sole is pretty stiff, but not as stiff as some higher end racing shoes. I found it not as narrow as some racing-oriented shoes (it's not a wide shoe, just not super narrow as far as bike shoes go). The ratchet closure is a great feature and is adjustable while on the bike. It's nice that it is drilled for both road cleats (SPD-SL, 3 hole) and MTB cleats (SPD, 2 hole). If you are transitioning from SPD/MTB pedals to road pedals, this shoe allows you to keep your SPD pedals for now, upgrade your shoes, then update your pedals later. I would recommend using pontoons with SPD cleats on these shoes.

Good shoes. Easy to get on and off. One complaint I have is that in order to use the SPD clips you have to buy an adapter so that is an extra $20.

Solid shoe. I don't wear a wide running shoe but cycling shoes seem to run at a slightly skinnier width. These are wider than my previous shimano cycling shoes and work for me. I've worn a few times and they are comfortable.

Do not buy these. Cleats don't sit flush with bottom of shoe, so you're guaranteed to 1) scuff any surface you walk on, 2) slip on slick surfaces and 3) look like an idiot when you walk because they're uneven. I will return these and order another set of shimano shoes.
