Firstly, I don't expect a lot of arch support from a flat. In fact, the reason I like flats is because I'd really rather be walking barefoot but my workplace has no sense of humor about that. Secondly: I LOVE THESE! Right out of box you notice they are so light, flexible, bendable, twistable, and oh who doesn't love that new leather smell! I shop Zappos because I can try on different shoes that I can't find in stores, play around with sizes, send shoes back and forth, back and forth until I find the right one. As soon as I put one on I said out loud "I'm keeping these! Score on the first try!" One thing: I am a 9. Size 40 is an 8.5 - 9. The shoe fits, but my big toe seems to be a bit thick I guess you'd say for the toe box (not width-wise but more being pressed from the top wise). Not a problem! I have two ways can I solve problems like that: I can put it on the shoe stretcher with the knob attachment on the stretcher on the right place for the toe area; I can wear them around the house a while with thick socks on just over my toes. Lengthwise, great. If I went up a size I don't believe they would stay one. I got them yesterday and am wearing them today, right now. LOVE! Btw, it's my opinion that everyone should have a shoe stretcher! An investment you won't regret! I see so many reviews in which a person states they had to return shoes because they were just slightly too narrow, or they squeezed their bunion. Shoe stretcher! There are holes all over the thing so you can pop in a little knob that will target areas like bunions! Back to these shoes: Did I mention I am in LOVE! I came back to see what other color I am going to buy today. LOVE!

These shoes are great. They look great on--it's a little hard to see in the pictures just how good they look on a foot. They are super comfortable--I got them because I have other El Naturalista shoes that I love, and also because I was looking for something comfortable and work-appropriate to wear at my standing desk. I highly recommend these--they are not dressy but can go with a variety of clothing styles. Also--they felt slightly tight at first but stretched nicely within a week.

I have "bad" feet in the sense that my bunions are terrible and poorly made shoes leave me in terrible pain. I will want to look relatively cute so I am in a never ending search for shoes! I especially struggle in summer when I want something stylish that will also feel comfortable over long distances, and won't make my feet stinky if I go barefoot, but also won't show off my oddly shaped feet/toes. These shoes are PERFECT! They are cute enough for my purposes, and very lightweight and comfortable. There is no pinching/rubbing anywhere. The shoe material is almost plasticy but breathes really well so my feet feel protected over rough surfaces, but I otherwise feel like I'm not wearing anything at all. I don't see much of an arch, yet I can walk long distances without pain. I highly recommend these shoes!

Very comfortable shoes. Elastic around the edge makes for a great fit. I love the comfort and the color. Would recommend these to others.

Finally, a ballerina shoe that doesn't hurt my bunion (I ordered wide). Just feel rather hot for the summer. But should be great in cooler weather.

I'm really happy with these shoes. I have a narrow heel, which makes it hard to find flats that stay on, but these fit really well, without pinching in the footbed. And they are comfortable! The color is really attractive (peacock) and the styling has enough detail to make them a little but eye-catching. One note - the dye on the elastic at the front bleeds a little and I have blue spots on my feet when I take off the shoes. I should knock a rating star for this, but it wipes off easily, and I am so happy to find shoes I like and that fit that I will leave the 5-star rating intact.

I really love these shoes. They're comfortable and well made, and thanks to the elastic, they stay on well. They look much nicer on than the photo would indicate. As others have noted, the toe box is a bit shallow vertically, so you may want to try 1/2 size larger than usual, but it wasn't bad enough that I really noticed until I'd worn them a few times. My first pair of El Naturalistas, and I'll be buying more of that brand.

I really wanted to love these. They are really cute, well made, so cushy, and have an awesome sole. I wear a size 8.5, 38-39 Euro, and ordered a pain in 39. They fit in the length, but, alas, the toe box is somewhat narrow and my big toe rubs up against the shoe in a really uncomfortable way. I just don't have the patience to stretch them in that exact spot, so back they go. Sad!

This shoe was cute, but unfortunately not enough room in the toe box. That, and my toes all bumped the the very toe of the shoe. Not a lot of wiggle room. A size up probably would have been too big overall. That I didn't like the fit might be because I prefer walking around when I can either barefoot or in well-fitting sandals, or wide-in-the-toe box hiking shoes, and have just become used to the feeling unfettered.

I'm a loyal El Naturalista customer because their shoes are well made, comfortable right out of the box and versatile. However, one of the things I love about my other El Naturalistas is the leather lining and footbed. You can wear them on the hottest, most humid summer day with no socks and your feet stay dry and comfy. I bought the Croche specifically for summer assuming it would have the same lovely, natural leather inside. I should have read the description more closely. It does have leather lining, but the footbed is synthetic and not breathable like their other styles. Even though it's a comfortable shoe, knowing how much nicer the shoe would be with an aerated leather footbed makes it a disappointment. I was on the fence about sending them back. Kept them for spring and fall, but will have to keep looking for a summer ballet flat.

These were a little big on me. I was drawn to them because of the removable footbed. I thought it would comfortably fit my orthotics but sadly that was not the case. I really wanted these to work but unfortunately they'll be going back.

The leather on the teal shoe is beautiful. Unfortunately, there were sharp, pokey little threads scratching at the back of both heels.

I love the look of these shoes and can tell they are comfortable, but alas, I have to send them back. They squeak! A lot! It is crazy noticeable and I would feel funny wearing them in public. I wore them around my house ad at first only the right foot made noise, but soon, the left shoe began squawking too!I adore them so I'm going to exchange them for the same exact pair and cross my fingers that the new pair is noiseless. This would be my 4th pair of shoes from this brand. They are all comfortable and stylish. I found the size and fit to be excellent. I wear a size 9, have an average width foot and I order the blue. I did try on different hues of jeans with them and several of my dresses and they look great with casual things as well as more dressed up but still causal things. The blue is pretty and I really want the second pair to work! I will update this review when my second pair arrives.

Seriously? I realize some people find this shoe comfortable but the sole is so thin that you can feel the ground in every step, especially at the forefoot. When I took out the insole...the rubber of the sole is so thin you can see right through it. I had to truck across the USA border from Vancouver, BC to pick these up. Very disappointed. Don't waste your money.

This shoe is very cute, but I am returning it because it offers no support. I walked around in my home for about 10 minutes and my heel started to hurt. Not a shoe that should cost this much.
